Wishes

It’s my day to post a project on the Some Odd Girl blog and today I’m bringing you a special project from the pages of my art journal!  Like many other crafters and color enthusiasts out there, I have several boxes full of cards to send out (or keep) that were starting to cry out begging to be used.  Although I send out several cards a month, I still have stack and stacks and decided I could start making journal books instead.

For this project, I’ve used the faerie Nouveau Girl Wishes from Some Odd Girl and the background is Metallic Flowers from Make it Crafty. The book is about 5″x8″ which is a bit larger than a square 6″x6″ card so I have a little more room to work with.  I love to include at least two images on them, if not more, because the size allows me to focus on what I like to do the most … color!

This is the fourth book I’ve started and I love having it proped up on my desk – and just like a calendar, I can flip the page to something else inspiring for that week.  I’ve also started a smaller sized one which is about the size of a trading card which I like to use for single character stamps.  Those I plan to use later on as actual trading cards and I think having them all bound up will make it easier to transport.

The books I like to use the most are multi-purpose heavy duty art journal books with thick sturdy pages.  I found mine at the local craft store but you can find book at any art supply store too.

I had the background metal flowers colored long ago and had the colors jotted down so I’ll share those with you – they’re my favorite color combination for Copper, Steel and Brass:

E41, E42, E43, E44, YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97, YG99, BG93, G94, T4, C1, C3, C5, E11, E13, E93, E95, E97, E15, E17, YR30, Y32, YR21 and Y26.

That’s about it for this project.  😀  Thanks for coming by and I hope this gives you an idea for your next project!

Sweet Thinkin’ Mae

Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!  I’ve had nothing planned so a little down time has been nice… now time to settle down for a weekend movie.  😀  But before I get to that, here’s a project I’ve revamped using a Some Odd Girl… Sweet Thinkin’ Mae!

The door in the background is actually one of the prototypes for the Park Glen Door Diecut that I was creating so it’s kind of fun to see how that came about.  The hardware was a few things I found in my stash – it’s one of those photo clasps with a brad in the top part which creates the illusion of the door knob.

This cutie was actually kind of fun to use and at the moment I only remember the green color combination which was G82, G40 and G20.  Well, at least I think that was it – I like how it turned out and will have to use that combo again.  I think the hair is done with the Neutral which is now my favorite gray tones to use.  I used to like the Warm tones but Neutral and Toner have sneak into my favorites position.  LOL

Winter Marci

It’s time to announce last week’s Blog Candy winner and thank you to everyone who participated.  😀  The little Krafin’ Kimmie stamp is waiting for a new home so I’ve used random.org to pick a lucky winner and that person is…

Congratulations!  My email is on the sidebar and you can send me your mailing address.   😀

For my project today I’m showing a card that I had created last winter using Winter Marci from La-la Land Crafts that I purchased and combined her with Winter Sleigh from Make it Crafty. The ticket sentiment is from Whimsy as well as the coordinating diecut – been loving that combo!

It’s been so long since I’ve colored this but if you can believe I have the list of Copic colors I used on card!  Woah, is right!  LOL  But thanks to Sandie I was able to keep a list and here they are…

Copic Colors: R21, R14, R17, R37, R46, R59, YG61, YG63, YG67, B000, B00, B01, 0, E000, E00, E11, E13, E53, E04, YR14, E08, E19, E59, E55, E57, E59, E50, E51, E53, E70, E71, E74, C1, C3

For this card I was going for the white on white look with a colored image but I think my image is so large that it doesn’t really fit in the catagory.  However, almost everything else is white so it counts in the game of horseshoes, right?  LOL  Thanks for dropping by and I hope you’ve enjoyed this winter scene.

Chives

Yep, I have another challenge for you today – this one at Little Miss Muffet Challenges!  The challenge over there is “Loads of Layers” which should come easy for most of you crafters out there – it’s almost like an anything goes challenge!  LOL  So get out your supplies and have some fun.  😀

For my project I used Chives from the Sugar ‘n Spice Dolls line and the Park Glen Door Diecut – both from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  The door is posted on foam dots so it pops out a little and the girl is on double foam dots and pops out that much more.  I’m having so much fun with this door diecut if you haven’t noticed AND I keep coming up with loads of ideas that I want to try out!  The utlimate idea being the one that Zoe did – I hope to try something like that out this weekend.  (Wish me luck!)

If you get a chance to visit the LMM Challenge blog there are some fantastic examples posted from the design team that are a must see!  Plus with the new Pollycraft images it’s been quite exciting around there this month.  😀  I have some great news for this summer and you don’t want to miss out on any of it so keep an eye out!  (hint, hint)

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:

Toxic Teens Mac

Today’s challenge at Simply Challenged Challenges from Simply B Stamps is to create a project with a movie in mind… aka, create a project that represents a movie!  This one is always one of those challenges that I struggle with but once I get started and into the color part I can then (and only then) think of tons of movies that would work!  It’s like watching the movies in my mind as I pay close attention to the details in the images.  LOL

So for this project, it started out as a representation of Footloose… and it never failed, I was able to think of lots of other movies involving break dancing and even running that would fit.  The main secondary one that came to mind was anything to do with the Michael Jackson!

The images I used on this project are Toxic Teens Mac from Simply B Stamps and I combined him with some Urban Elements from Make it Crafty.  In the background I also used the upper part of the Eerie Fence from Make it crafty and colored in the moon.

Make sure you get a chance to steel a moment and visit the SCC Blog for more inspiration and a few movie reviews with their projects.  He he he.  Also, Simply B Stamps is having a sale right now that you don’t want to miss – you can get 12 digi stamps for $25!  Plus I think there are a few more bargains you can look out for.  Happy shopping!

Blog Candy – Genevieve

How about some time for some blog candy?!  This is just to say thanks for everyone who visits my blog and also for those that leave lovely comments.  😀  I’m going out of town this weekend so I’ve set the end date for June 13th and I’ll post the winner on June 14th(Opps…. ok, I’ll post it on June 15th.  Poke me if I forget again. LOL)

This is Genevieve from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps and she comes with a little map.  I also found an extra saying that I’ve popped in which says “Things can only get better” – both are gently used and the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamp is unmounted.

This blog candy is for everyone (friends, family and even fellow DT members) and I’ll ship to anywhere in the word.  All you have to do is be or become a Follower of this blog and enter your name in the link below.  Good Luck! http://www.inlinkz.com/cs.php?id=161004
