Marvin with Daisies by Lydia

I think I started something by posting Cassandra’s card last week and so this is one of Lydia’s many cards from this week. She did almost everything by herself but needed a little help with the bow and Liquid Pearls on the corner. She’s been making little cards with me all week. ;D

Hansel with Flowers

It has been so much fun being on The Stamping Bazaar design team and the gals have been real gems and a pleasure to get to know. Sadly, this is my last week on the design team so I thought I’d make a card with one of the first stamps Marina released last year. I made this card with Hansel with Flowers and enlarged him so I could work with the details. If your interested in being on the design team for the next three months, then head on over because The Stamping Bazaar is having a Design Team Call. Enjoy!

Did you know? Mercado de Sonora (Sonora Market) is a mercado público, or city-established traditional market, located just southeast of the historic center of Mexico City in the Colonia Merced Balbuena neighborhood. It was established in the 1950s with a number of other similar institutions in order to help regulate retail commerce in the city. This market has specialized in a variety of merchandise such as pottery, party items, and live animals — and the two which make it notable, herbal medicine and items related to magic and the occult.

Shy Sammy

Welcome to another challenge at The Stamping Bazaar where this week’s theme is “Anniversary.” I made this card using Shy Sammy and chose a more masculine theme for a “his” card. After all, I can always make several cards for myself later. ;D

Did you know? Julie Powell (born April 20, 1973) is an American author best known for her book Julie & Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen. While working for the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation in August 2002, Powell began the Julie/Julia Project, a blog chronicling her attempt to cook all the recipes in Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking. The blog quickly gained a large following, and Powell signed a book deal with Little, Brown and Company.

Mikey

I made this card using Mikey from The Stamping Bazaar. The challenge this week is mono-chromatic of course! I chose to go with a black and white color scheme and used the Copic Toner range spectrum. All of the papers I had on had were slightly cream or off-white in color so I used E50 to color the background which also helps give the image a slight glow.

Did you know? The violin is a string instrument, usually with four strings tuned in perfect fifths. It is the smallest, highest-pitched member of the violin family of string instruments, which includes the viola and cello. The violin is sometimes informally called a fiddle, regardless of the type of music played on it. A person who makes or repairs violins is called a luthier. The parts of a violin are usually made from different types of wood and it is usually strung with gut, nylon or other synthetic, or steel strings.

Update: I was the winner at Craft Your Days Away for this Challenge!

Louisa Party Time

The challenge this week at The Stamping Bazaar is “Bling it on!” … lots of bling! I made this carding using Louisa Part Time and this time I printed the image larger than normal. Then I added Stickels Glitter Glue, gems, and a charm for my bling. I need to make more “mail-able” cards so I tried to use all flat embellishments.

Did you know? Peppermint is a hybrid mint, a cross between the watermint and spearmint. The plant, indigenous to Europe, is now widespread in cultivation throughout all regions of the world. It is found wild occasionally with its parent species.

Horus Roasting Marshmallows

We have a fun challenge for you at The Stamping Bazaar the week! The theme is “Tags”… you can add them to your project or have the tag be your project. I made this card using Horus Roasting Marshmallows in tribute to a small campfire I’ll be enjoying this weekend – and yes, with a bag of marshmallows. 😀

The corner embellishments are laser cut chipboard embellishments covered with Liquid Pearls plus a Dew Drop. I also added a few Dew Drops around the card and used up another one of those Tim Holtz tickets that seem to last forever. Horus is one of my favorite characters so I hope you enjoy this version.

Did you know? Rinaldo is an opera by George Frideric Handel composed in 1711, and was the first Italian language opera written specifically for the London stage. The story of love, battle and redemption set at the time of the First Crusade is loosely based on Torquato Tasso’s epic poem Gerusalemme liberata (“Jerusalem Delivered”), and its staging involved many original and vivid effects. It was a great success with the public, despite negative reactions from literary critics hostile to the contemporary trend towards Italian entertainment in English theaters.
