Cheers Kaylee and Tropical Mae

Click, click, click – testing, 1, 2, 3.  It works!!  😀  I can’t tell you how I felt when I found my laptop computer in shambles with keys missing and parts spewn all over the floor!  I’m usually not one to be surprised by anything but this time I actually gasped in such an alarm that all the kids came running to see if I was ok!  LOL But the good news is after I initiated “quiet time” and spent some effort tinkering that I was able to get it all back togehter.  Phew… ok so on to todays cards… tada!

These two cuties are new from Some Odd girl and are part of the new digi releases this week!  These two cuties are Tropical Mae and Cheers Kaylee and are available in the store right now.  Tropical Mae was previewed on the SOG Blog yesterday and today it’s time to show off Cheers Kaylee – so be sure to check out the rest of what the DT has created.  😀

These two cards were fun and quick to make – sometimes those are the best.  I grabbed the paper choices before coloring then just worked off the papers to select my markers.  I usually add some ribbon but skipped out by using scraps or the reverse side of the decorative paper to create the horizontal interest that I seem to be attached to – it just looks weird if I don’t include that on my cards so I guess you coudl call that my odd quirk for the day!

I used the same colors, papers and even the layout on both projects if you haven’t noticed already.  He he he.  In addition, the background stamps I used are the Chandelier from Stampavie and I still can’t find where the sentiment stamp is from… but somewhere as I’m sure it’s not that old.  LOL

That pretty much wraps this up and I hope you’ve enjoyed the card for today.  Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great mid-week.  😀

Santa’s Workshop

I hope you’ve been enjoying all the fabulous inspiration and show casing of the new releases at the LMMS Blog!  I can’t wait to get back home to technology and check out what everyone has made!  But until then, here’s another project I made with the Park Glen Door Diecut from Little Miss Muffet Stamps…

I used the base door part of the Park Glen Door Diecut and kept it simple with a nice bold red door for the season.  The solid color also helps to see the embossing details around the edges.  They don’t photograph well, but it’s a nice little addition and some added interest.

The fun part about this project is the view inside the door… for that I used Santa’s Workshopfrom Make it Crafty and zoomed into one area of the room.  I colored it back and white because the outside already had so much color.

The Joy banner was created with a pennant diecut but I can’t remember from which company it comes from.  Anyoen know?  I know there ar a few out there but I don’t remember which one has the scallopes and holes all around.  Regardless, it makes for a great banner!  😀

In between the banners I’ve added little jingle bells which have a nice little gingle too them.  They post office is going to have fun delievering this card and if I get it sent early enough in the season pehaps they’ll enjoy shaking the envelop for a little music.  LOL

Underwater Shipwreck

I’m excited to say that it’s my day to post on the Make it Crafty Blog and I chose to do a step-by-step tutorial of how to color sun rays in the water!  Now this is a simple task so be sure to grab your favorite coloring medium and head on over to check it out.  It actually should only take a few minutes to get the blue water part done then you can worry about the rest of the image.  LOL

I don’t want to go into the tutorial details on this side so I’ll briefly talk about what I did and give you lots of pictures instead.  For my project I used Underwater Shipwreck from Make it Crafty, however, any of the underwater scenes would be perfect for this task.

The algae was an after thought because at one stage of the coloring I had covered up most of the seaweed I added so as I was going back in it occurred to me that a ship this old would have lots of slimy algae growing on it.  This was easy to add by taking a light moss green (YG91) and coloring over and around the ship.  On the masts I added strings of algae with the same color.

Most dolphin pictures I see have the light reflection on the backs and I wanted to give this a try.  So for this technique I used a white gel pen and drew in some rough hash marks that I hoped resembled the sun shining through the water.  Then to soften up the edges I took a lighter gray marker and colored the sides of the dolphin.  I also used the white gel pen to color in the air bubbles.

I hope you get a chance to try out these techniques – the best part about an underwater scene is that  you can be messy and it looks like it was done on purpose!  LOL  Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you’re having a fantastic weekend!   Remember to check out the Make it Crafty Blog for the water tutorial.  Thanks.  😀

Luna Bitterfrost Birthdays Rock

It’s the second day of releases at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and our day to show off the new Pollycraft stamps now available through LMMS!!  I have invited Paula to illustrate for me and I’m excited that she said yes – it was a grand day!  😀  There are twelve stamps in the store today and two of them are brand new – so be sure to visit the Little Miss Muffet Challenge & Release Blog for inspiration and then the LMM Store for some shopping.  😀

For my project today I used Luna Bitterfrost Birthdays Rock and the new Park Glen Door Diecut (with the included screen mesh) both from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  Then the sentiment is a Kid’s Quote from Inkadinkadoo.

This is a short post because I’m actually out on vacation and my internet connection is practiacally useless!  LOL  However, there is a sale goingon while I’m away and you can read about those details HERE on the challenge & release blog.  Thanks for coming by!

Valentine Betty

Simply B Stamps is taking a little twist and turn with the design team and I’m now doing challenges!!  We’ll have challenges once a week featuring new and old Simply B Stamps and I’m excited to bring you today’s challenge…. “Your Inner Betty!”  The task is to create a project that reminds us of my we love Simply B Stamps!  So here’s my project…

For my project I used Valentine Betty and enlarged her to fill up more of the panel.  What I like about Simply B Stamps is the versatility and the fact it often reminds me to try new things and expand my comfort zone a little more.   In addition there’s always a stamp that fits my various moods.  LOL

In the spirit of this challenge I used some paper that has been sitting on my desk for months!  It’s Authentique Journey Collection and because of all the bright blues, it’s one I haven’t been able to use very often.  So I put on my thinking cap and finally decided I would make the blue stand out and realized that was better than hiding it.  He he he

The card I made with my nestiabilities dies and used three different shapes then went around the edges with some ink to give them more definition.  It turned out better than I thought!  Hope you’ve enjoyed it and be sure to head on over to the Simply Challenged Challenges Blog for more inspiration!

Diane & Cardine

Hello, hello, hello!  I should be in bed getting my beauty sleep for tomorrow’s long drive, however, I couldn’t resit taking a moment to show off some new stamps I added to Little Miss Muffet Stamps!!!  There are 17 new images that will be previewed today and tomorrow plus some very exciting news – head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Challenge & Release Blog to catch up on all the details!

For this project I used Diane from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and the sentiment is from Stampabilities; and we’re also showing off more samples using the Park Glen Door Diecut from Little Miss Muffet Stamps!  I chose to use the screen mesh that comes with the die on this project.  I went crazy with the diecuts and also forced myself to use the blue paper on my desk!

This next project is actually one my daughter made and uses the new fairie, Cadrian, also from Little Miss Muffet Stamps!  She was so proud of her creation today and even decorated the inside full of gems, stickers and a sweat little note to Grandma and Grandpa.  😀  Everytime she makes something she always asks if it’s as pretty as mine then she’ll put it up next to may latest creation and compare the two – today, she FINALLY said it was just as cute!!  LOL

So what’s all this exciting news I hinted towards?  Well, I’m excited to say that Paula from Pollycraft will now be drawing images for Little Miss Muffet Stamps!!  Whohoo!!  I selected a few of my favorite characters to start with and tomorrow we’ll be previewing them all – plus there are TWO NEW stamps that you don’t want to miss out on.  😀  I made a card with one of the new ones and will show it off tomorow.  Until, hope you have a great day!
