Snowball Fight

Hello, is this thing on?  Welcome back and I’m so excited to share something NEW with you this week!  That’s right, I finally found my way into “The Pink Room,” aka the hobby room, and created some cards and tags.  And not all of them are booming with holiday spirit but I’ll save some of those for a little later.  First off, I wanted to show these adorable snowball girls which I used to create some tags. 

This first one is my favorites but all the images I used are from Snowball Fight from Make it Crafty which comes with all three girls!  One of the gift ideas I saw this year was to create a snowball fight in a bucket and that’s what they fun tags are for.  Weren’t they perfect?!

The snowball bucket I’ll show off next week so you’ll want to stick around for that idea.  I saw it in a magazine and thought it would be a great gift for some family friends.  There’s no snow around here but the weather is cold enough that we still have to bundle up tight.  Now, with plush snowballs to throw around the kids can have a little traditional white Christmas activity to enjoy!

Nightwind

I don’t know about you but I love to have a “stash” of projects waiting in draft mode so I can post them whenever I can or whenever I need to.  😀  However, I’m down to my last one – eek!!  With this one posted that reduces my number of draft posts down to three – one is a recipe for some killer pickles that I’ll share one day, another one I was asked to remove but just can’t bring myself to delete it, and the third one is just a bookmark type post to help me remember a few things.  So basically that it.. they’re all gone!!  Sniff, sniff.

But I love this project and wanted to share it with you before I returned home from holidays.  It uses Nightwind from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and is part of the Hills of Mooradale collection drawn by Simply Sophia.  I am loving the ponies and fairies that she is creating and actually have a few on the drawing block that we’re working on together.  Yeah!  So keep you eyes out for them coming soon!  😀

I’ve had this paper for a while and love the whimiscal clouds and kites flying in the sky and was excited to use Nightwind – I thought it was a perfect match!  The sentiment says “Caputre life’s moments!”  Thanks for dropping by today and I hope you’re having a great weekend!!  I have only two weeks of school left before the end of this semester and I’m getting excited.  😀

Gingerbread Candy House

“No! Not the gumdrop buttons!!”  Yes!! And Gingerbread too!  😀  This is a project for the Make it Crafty Store Blog and the image I’ve used in the Gingerbread Candy House.  (And yes, I’ll make this one into a card too … eventually.)

In much the same way that Viv colored the stone bricks at MiC, that same technique can be used to color other things such as this Gingerbread Candy House.  I practically used the same technique for the gingerbread and the gumdrop candies.  However, this time I started with my darkest colors and worked my way up to the lighter ones, using dots all the way.  If they’re done right after the other then eventually as you get to the lighter colors the texture starts to blend a little and making it come all together.

Here’s a close up of the side of the house which shows the gingerbread and gumdrops in more details.  There was a lot of dotting that went into this one but the effect is perfect for what I wanted.  I also wanted to bring in all sorts of colors to make it bright and cheery like candy usually is but hopefully I’ve used enough reds and greens to keep it holiday oriented.  😀  After all, it IS a Gingerbread house!!

It’s Thanksgiving Day here in the US and also release day at Little Miss Muffet Stamps which I’m excited for both!  I would have loved to have a LMMS project to show but at least you can head over there too today and see what anew rubber and digital stamps have been released this week – plus you can take advantage of the “out of town” promotion that is going on right now.  😀  Anyway, I actually have a project to share which I had colored and created last year.  Can you believe I’ve been holding on to it for that long?  But it’s a perfect card to say “Happy Thanksgiving” with!


For this project I used Pilgrim Marci & Luka from La-La Land Crafts and you may or may not recognize them as I has a little fun coloring their faces and giving them som character instead of the blank look they normally have.  Not everyone likes them this way but I guess it’s up to you… what do you think?  Yea or Neah?

NEWS – Blog Candy for Two

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this before I left for vacation – I totally meant to do that! I guess if I have to forget one thing then this isn’t so bad.  After all, it’s Murphy’s Law that every vacation means you’ve left something important home and that every mechanical repairs means there is at least one screw left over!  Seriously, that’s that way it is at my house.  LOL
