Welcome to Hollywood Day 3

Welcome back to the final and third day of the Make it Crafty and Simply B Stamps Hollywood release!  Today is the big day and we have a fantastic game for you to play!!  Your mission, should you chose to accept it, is to guess what movies are being represented on our projects!  Are you ready?

You should have arrived here from the fantastic DEBBIE!

Did you guess my movie yet? He he he, ok, I have a couple clues for you but before I get to that, just a few details about my card.  The images I used are Little Usher Miller and At the Movies Jude from Simply B Stamps which are combined with At the Movie Theatre from Make it Crafty (which I merged a couple times for a grander audience).  The box of popcorn on the bottom right is a snipet from the At the Movie Theatre image but the little bits of popcorn I had snuck in from Agent Popcorn Aiming from Little Miss Muffet Stamps – they were perfect for scattering all over the floor for a more authentic theatre experience!

Now for some clues!  These clues are elements that I incorporated into my card design which represent the move and not necessarily depicts a scene from the movie.  Oh, and it one of my favorite types of movies too.  😀  Ready?

(1) the colors, (2) the age group, (3) the door and
(4) the saying “Kids these days. They just don’t get scared like they used to.”

I have a confession that I’m a movie nut – not necessarily a movie buff (nope, don’t have the memory for that) so just someone who watches almost anything.  I practically watch a movie every night while doing the computer stuff and because of it sometimes I take me ages just to do one thing.  Just like today!  LOL

As you might have noticed, I used my new diecut door today – the Park Glen Door Die-cut from Little Miss Muffet Stamps!  It comes with two sheets of mesh if you want to make a screen door but I went for a simple open door.  Then used most of the hardware elements that are part of the die with a gem for the handle – then rigged it up to open.  It was a perfect element to represent one of my clues!

Your next stop on the hop is the wonderful TRACY J!!
Finally the last stop in the hop is over at Make it Crafty where you can enter your guesses!

Welcome to Hollywood Day 2

Welcome back to the second day of the Hollywood release!  Make it Crafty and Simply B Stamps have teamed up to bring you this fabulous theme of Hollywood characters and backgrounds that you can mix and match to recreate a variety of movies and more.  😀

You should have arrived here from the fabulous ALYCE!

For my card today I used Beauty Spa Rio from Simply B Stamps and the Beauty Salon Set from Make it Crafty and merged them together to come up with this fun scene that is reminiscent of a glamorous Hollywood Star prepping for her next movie.  😀  I thought it would be fun to show that the salon could be used for other purposes – with all the individual elements the ideas are practically endless!

Don’t forget to leave comments along the way for a chance to win some awesome prizes – then tomorrow come back for Day 3 and a fun movie guessing game!  You’ll have a chance to win the entire release plus the movie of your choice!!  You could make it a coloring slash movie date at your house for a fun girls night out.  😀  And if you can’t wait, there is also a great sale going on where the collection are 25% off during the hop duration.

I also took this opportunity to use my new diecut door and create a Hollywood Star door for the background!  The diecut is called the Park Glen Door Diecut from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and I just released it this week – you should check out the link as I have other samples with the door too!!

For this project, the door was cut out of textured cardstock and then I cut a silhouette of the same color in a non-textured cardstock so I could have a solid door.  Then I had a yellow felt star on hand and colored it orange with my Copic marks to add to the top. For the door handle I found some extra hardward that was perfect.  😀  I love how it turned out.

Thanks for coming by and for leaving such wonderful comments yesterday.  {blush}  I hope you’re equally inspired today and if you get lost in the hop, just check out the list below.  See ya later, aligator!
Your next stop in the hop is the fantastic ALISON!

Christmas Princess Rio & Thanksgiving Rio

Welcome back for another peek at the Miss Rio Collection from Simply B Stamps!  There’s lots of other projects over on the SBS Blog that you can soak in as well.  😀  This evening I have two more holiday cards to showcase featuring Christmas Princess Rio and Thanksgiving Rio.  I’ve done them both in a holiday theme so I can start stalking up on my Christmas cards this year.

This first card uses Christmas Princess Rio from Simply B Stamps along with Santa’s Workshop from Make it Crafty.  Plus I used the Treasured Moments ticket die and sentiment stamps from Whimsy.

For some reason the cards are turning out more blue and I wasn’t able to figure out what color I needed to add or subtract.  The red and blues are actually spot on but the white is what turned out blueish – maybe it’s just my perception but anything else I tried made it too green or red.  O’well, I’m sure they’re fine.
This next card uses Thanksgiving Rio from Simply Betty Stamps and in the background I used a Little Village Scene from Make it Crafty.

This combination reminded me of Christmas dinner’s way back when I was a kid and the snow was abundant. I’ve now moved to a warmer climate and winters like this are things we can only dream of now. LOL I think the whole state of Texas would shut down if we got this much snow… that looks like at least two or three feet piled up on those roof – wow, could you imagine it? Not here I can’t. 😀

Ice Skate Rio & Rock N Roll Rio

Simply B Stamps has another release this week and the design team has been busy making lots of inspiration for you eyes.  😀  There are eight new images in the Miss Rio Collection and I’ve made cards using Ice Skate Rio and Rock N Roll Rio for the holidays.  Well, actually, the Rock n Roll Rio is for a birthday using the same paper pack but the birthday girl won’t know that.  LOL!  Check them out…

Ice Skate Rio from Simply B Stamps and
Park and Pond from Magnolia Alota Rubber Stamps

Rock ‘n Roll Rio from Simply B Stamps

Stay tuned for another look at the Miss Rio Collection when I’ll be back this evening with two more holiday cards.  Also don’t forget to head on over to the SBS Blog to see all the other projects using this fun images.  😀

Skull Castle Jude & Beach Time Betty Munster

It’s release day and a blog hop for the Teen Scene Summer Fun from Simply B Stamps and I have a journal page to share today!  But before we get to the pictures, make sure you remember to visit the SBS Blog for the release details.  😀

You should have arrived here from the incredible ALISON!
(or for the complete hop list, click HERE)

For my project today I combined three images to create this scene…. Beach Time Betty Munster and Skull Castle Jude (the new releases) from Simply B Stamps and Island Hideaway from Make it Crafty.  For the “photos” on the side I originally had the icecream but I think that was too washed out so I went back in and added the “Sweet Sunshine” one instead.  However, you can see the icecream ones below.  ;D

This has been a fun release and I’ve enjoyed combining the images to create little scenes.  😀  It’s so hard to pick a favorite but I think Beach Time Betty Munster was the funnest to color with so many possibilities to add color!  Do you have a favorite image?  I’m afraid I’m usually one to answer “I love them all!”  He he he
