Ava

This is release week for Little Miss Muffet Stamps and I wanted to feature my favorite from today! This is Ava and is one I drew while at the park with my daughters… and she, like my youngest daughter, enjoys the toddler swing very much!

I’m starting to discover a fetish I have for clouds and even yesterday at the scrapbook store I bought a whole paper pad just for the cloud paper in it! Yes, it’s true! So naturally I went home and used some cloud paper and created this fun card. Oh, and paper with words on it too if you haven’t noticed lately. LOL

I kept this card simple and used a plain silk ribbon, gems and Make it Crafty chippies to finish it up. It all came together rather quickly which is nice to have happen once in a while. ;D So I hope you enjoyed this tidbit of inspiration and you can head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Challenge blog to catch some more New Release projects!

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:

Annie’s Prezzie

This is a project I made for a class I was teaching at my church group. I had three cards that they made with three different techniques – this one was more simplified for the class and didn’t include the chippies or image and I was demonstrating that a card without an image is just as fun. ;D I only cautioned them on which page from the dictionary they ripped out.

After the class was finished I added the image and chippies to finish the card with an extra touch. The image I used is Annie’s Prezzie from Tiddly Inks and the chippies are from Make it Crafty. I kept with a basic color scheme of the paper then added purple as a coordinating color which also tied in the flower.

The class was successful and the gals learned the basics of card making and a variety of simple techniques. The other two cards that we made were Riley and From the Desk Of that I previously posted.

Finally this is another card that my daughter created and she we wanted to enter it into the Simon Says Stamp Summer Holiday Kids Challenge for this month. Lydia used the image Adela and Dida Inventing from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and created everything on her own. Enjoy!

Sugar

It’s another challenge at Little Miss Muffet Challenges and this week we have an interesting challenge for you – we want to have your image go “outside the diecut!” What does that mean? Well, if you read my post from yesterday then you got a sneak peek! ;D

On this project I used Sugar from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Seventeen for the die. I stamped and colored my image first then placed my diecut on top to get the position. Then before sending it through the cutting press I cut around the parts I wanted to keep and flipped them on the top.

I love this technique and I think it fills out the card nicely without taking up the whole front. We have lots of inspiration to look at so make sure you head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Challenge blog and take a gander! 😀 Happy Coloring!

Quinceañera Daydream

Here it is… the start of a new art journal… even though this isn’t the first page it is the first to be previewed! This one features a new release from Little Miss Muffet Stamps called Quinceañera Daydream and she has been merged with Rise and Shine from Make it Crafty.

The two images weren’t designed for each other but it turns out they play nicely together! LOL For embellishments, I used more Make it Crafty chippies, pearls, wide twill tape and some ribbon flowers I had in my stash. I also distressed some edges and drew in some faux stitching.

With these two images together it looks like this princess had the night of her life! She still has her shoes so I’m assuming she has the prince’s phone number for later. ;D

The ribbon flowers are actually rather thick and after gluing them onto the page I had to press them down with a dictionary and my Cuttlebug machine! They compressed to half their size with was more than I thought possible. I’ll have to keep that dictionary handy!

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:

Camila

Yikes!! I got so busy last night with the New Releases that I forgot to upload my own creation here! LOL So check out what is in store at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and enjoy this little I tag I made using Camila! Then make sure you come back tomorrow as I’m already working on that so I don’t forget. ;D

These tags are always fun to make and I usually follow a simple recipe to get it done… colored image (check), tag shape (check), scrap of paper (check), twine, pearls and small embellishment (check, check and check). That’s about it and they dress up a small gift of plate of cookies really well.

I’ll come back and enter her into some challenges, but for now … hope you enjoy! Cheers!

Peppermint as Red Riding Hood

Welcome to another challenge day at Little Miss Muffet Challenges where our theme for this fortnight is “Summer!” There is also a DT Call going on… so if you like Little Miss Muffet Stamps then head on over to submit an entry! Challenge and DT Call closes on Tuesday, August 2nd.

On my project I used “Peppermint as Red Riding Hood” from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and Spring Meadow from Whiff of Joy. What? I know, can you believe I didn’t use a Make it Crafty background this time!! But don’t worry, I made up for it with the chippies. ;D Plus I’ve got to get *some* mileage out of the Spring Kit before it collects too much dust. LOL

I think the papers are Sugar Rish from Basic Gray and the twill ribbon and pearls are from Stampin’ Up. I had this image colored up a while ago and so it was fun to be able to grab something and create a page in my journal right away. Although I did have to pause to color the background – but that wasn’t so bad.

I love the deep reds I was able to get with the hood. Usually reds show up too bright on film so this is a new combination I tried out. I starts with the expected reds, R22, R24, and R27, but then I jumped down and used R46 and R59 to darken it up. Another combination I find successful is R21, R14, R24, R37, R46 and R59.

I also used a new combination with the lighter color greens in the background – this time I used G40, G82, G85 and G99 which I like better than the G20s range.

I’d like to enter into the following challenges:
Scrapalicious USA Challenge #12 – anything summer
Flutter By Wednesday’s #163 – open theme
Craft-room Challenge – butterflies (just for fun)
Deep Ocean Challenge #4 – ribbons
Simon Says Stamp – newspaper (framing background image)

Hope you’ve enjoyed this page in the summer journal and come on over to check out the other girl’s inspiration for the Summer challenge!
