Fancy Sunbonnet Miss Muffet

It’s Thursday, it’s Thursday!  Oh my, we have a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps to introduce!  I’m super excited for many reasons but one of those was because I was just about to head to bed without a second though.  Then at last minute, my eye bulged open and my heart started pumping as I remember it was my turn to write the post too!  Gasp!  Well, I’m awake now!  LOL

The challenge this round is to create something inspired by a Nursery Rhyme!  I couldn’t think of any better rhyme to use than “Little Miss Muffet Sat on a Tuffet” and I had the perfect stamp to go with it!  It was like the rhyme, stamp and company are three peas in a pod!  LOL  So, what image is it exactly?  Glad you asked!  Featured on this project is “Fancy Sunbonnet Miss Muffet” and “Birds on a Wire Metal Die” from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  And the Sunbonnet image was drawn by the talented Jodie at Bugaboo.  Squeal – I just love these images!

Another thing I like about nursery rhymes is to learn about their history and what their possible meanings are about.  I’m sure this is acquired learning since it was never something I was really interested in until I had kids.  Then it was like a light bulb went off and I just had to know what was behind it all before I pass along the tradition to the next generation.  For example, did you know this poem first appeared in print in 1805?  I always thought it was older than that… but 1805, IS a long time ago!

I hope you get a chance to head on over to the LMMS Blog to check out everyone else’s fabulous creations!  They’ve done an excellent job and I’m always so proud of what they create!  😀

Fancy Sunbonnet Christmas Stuff

Happy 4th of July everyone!  I can’t believe it’s already half way through the year and that my summer is nearly gone!  Gone!  Another blink and the kids will be back in school then the work will really have to start.  😦  You see, it’s easy to claim the kids take up all the time when they’re home playing with me but when they’re at school during the day that means I have more house cleaning, to dos and errands to run.  Oh well, I guess we better enjoy it while it lasts… maybe that’s the perfect reason to go miniature golfing today!!  Oh, yeah!

We have an awesome release today at Little Miss Muffet Stamps plus the start of Christmas in July!!  There are four fun images to start with so you can get start working on those holiday cards!  For my project, I’ve used Fancy Sunbonnet Christmas Stuff by Little Miss Muffet Stamps (of course) and drawn by Bugaboo.  These sunbonnet images bring back lots of memories for me as my Mom is a big Sunbonnet Sue and Calico Sam fan!  So even those I wanted to use EVERY image in the new release, I narrowed it down to this one.

The papers were sort of chosen at random – I kinda picked through the top of the Christmas Stash as I didn’t want to spend too much time sorting through the pile.  But I had some golden felt that went well with the paper tones and decided it was a good fit.  The rest is… well, coloring history.  LOL

I hope you’ve enjoyed this bit of inspiration and thanks for coming by today!  Make sure to visit the LMMS blog to see all the other awesome projects created and also the LMMS FB page for some rising fun this week!

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:

Fancy Sunbonnet Umbrella

Kinda looks “cloudy with a a chance of meatballs today.”  😀  My kids have recently read the book and now that the 2nd movie is on it’s way out, I think we’ll make it a movie night and see the first one.  Up until now, they’ve been scared to watch any new movie but we finally made it over that hurdle!  Yeah!  So the plan is to watch a few book-to-movie features.  Should be fun!

The image I used on this project is Fancy Sunbonnet Umbrella from Little Miss Muffet Stamps in rubber form and drawn by Bugaboo Stamps.  Using the rubber stamps is perfect for this type of project as I don’t have to worry about getting that kraft cardstock through my printer… which it doesn’t!  LOL  I colored this one with Copic markers and then drew in the border with a ruler and marker; and added some shading with T1 and T2.

For my project I used Sunbonnet Dock Fishing from Little Miss Muffet Stamps in rubber form and drawn by Jodie from Bugaboo Stamps.  I colored it con kraft paper with Copics and kept the design simple – after all, I’m always… always lacking male happy birthday cards!  LOL  I have an abundance of girl stamps so coloring one for the boys is always a much needed adventure.  😀
