Sweet Anya

Welcome back and thank you for all your wonderful and supporting comments! I enjoyed reading them and I wish I could give everyone a Sweet Anya. But there is only one winner today and using Random.org, that winner is #55 – Congratulations Dee in Oklahoma! Please contact me with your mailing address. For everyone else, remember Sweet Anya will be released tomorrow in The Greeting Farm store and you can pick one up yourself!

Here are two more cards using Sweet Anya, this time with earth toned colors. The first card is one I made. I found these flower stickers and knew straight away how I wanted to use them! The second is another card from my Mom who gave Sweet Anya adorable freckles.

Did you know? Oberon is the outermost major moon of the planet Uranus. Discovered by William Herschel in 1787, Oberon is named after a character in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. As of 2010, the Uranian system has been studied up close only once: by the spacecraft Voyager 2 in January 1986. It took several images of Oberon, which allowed mapping of about 40% of the moon’s surface.

Update: We were the 2nd place winner at One Stitch At A Time for this Challenge!

I made this card using Melinda Helping Angel from Whiff of Joy. The challenge is to create a card or project with a sympathy theme. Even though it’s a sympathy card, I wanted to create a cheery theme and the helping angel was says it all. The other challenge was to color curly hair.

Sweet Anya

Welcome everyone to this very “sweet” blog hop hosted by The Greeting Farm! It has been so much fun to make cards using Sweet Anya. However, I gotta tell you, the pressure was so immense that I ended up with a few extras… so I’ll also show them off this week!

It’s hard to tell in the picture but I used glitter on her shirt, shoes and hair clip which gives the card an extra sparkle boost! The next card below is created by my Mom. The one thing better than spending a day stamping is spending it with your best friend! She also created a few cards using Sweet Anya and I’ll be sharing those with you this week too. It will be a double bonus!

What’s more? I’m giving away one of these Sweet Anya rubber stamps right here to one lucky commenter! You have until 11:59pm CST tonight to leave your comment on this post. A big thank you to The Greeting Farm for sponsoring this prize!

And while you’re at it, continue on with the hop because there are two more Sweet Anya stamps hidden away somewhere to win! Here is the complete blog hop list:

Main Stamp: Sweet Anya (TGF)
Patterned Paper: Mod-Retro (DCWV)
Copic Colors:

-hair: R20, R22, R24, R27

Did you know? The concept for Sweet Anya was created by me and entered into the Design Your Own Anya contest over at The Greeting Farm. It made the top five selections then votes were cast and it won! It was then refined by the wonderful artist Marie and created into a rubber stamp. Woo hoo! How fun it’s been to be a part of that process – thanks everyone!

Wild Things

“Five little monkeys jumping on the bed!” I made this card using the monkey in Wild Things from The Greeting Farm. The challenge is to create a shaker card and I thought this would be a cute theme. For the picture, I assembled the card on a flat surface which was already setup for a photo. Then after placing the top on I was able to take a few shots before I shook it – because of course, I had to shake it!

Here are the details on the five little monkeys. I was experimenting with the Copic marker’s Earth tone color group and comparing the various shades of skin colors. I also altered the tales on the monkeys so I could cut them out easier.

Challenge: Club Anya & Friends – Monday Mania
Main Stamp: altered images of Wild Things (TGF)
Patterned Paper: Nana’s Kids (DCWV)
Copic Colors :
-costumes: E41, E42, E43

Did you know? Ramsey theory, named after Frank P. Ramsey, is a branch of mathematics that studies the conditions under which order must appear. Problems in Ramsey theory typically ask a question of the form: “how many elements of some structure must there be to guarantee that a particular property will hold?”

Little Witch

Here’s a sneak peek of the new Whiff of Joy stamps that will be released next week, September 1st! This card uses Little Witch designed by Elisabeth Bell and exclusively sold by Whiff of Joy. The challenge is anything goes.

This is also the week I discovered two of my Copic markers have dried out! I guess I use E000 and E00 much more than I remember but I still thought they dried out too fast. Now I need to find a great place that sells refills. Any suggestions?

-skin: E00, E11, E13, R20

Did you know? The abacus, also called a counting frame, is a calculating tool often constructed as a bamboo frame with beads sliding on wires; but originally they were beans or stones moved in grooves in sand or on tablets of wood, stone, or metal. The abacus is still widely used by merchants, traders and clerks in Asia, Africa, and elsewhere. The user of an abacus is called an abacist.
