The challenge is to create a card or project using one of their Halloween images and this one wanted to be the Abominable Snowman for the holidays! I loved participating in the 12 Days of Halloween and I can’t wait to see the twists Simply Betty Stamps challenges us to this month. ;D

Did you know? The Yeti or Abominable Snowman is an ape-like cryptid said to inhabit the Himalayan region of Nepal and Tibet.Stories of the Yeti first emerged as a facet of Western popular culture in the 19th century. The scientific community generally regards the Yeti as a legend, given the lack of conclusive evidence, yet it remains one of the most famous creatures of cryptozoology.

Did you know? A concertina is a free-reed musical instrument, like the various accordions and the harmonica. It has a bellows and buttons typically on both ends of it. When pressed, the buttons travel in the same direction as the bellows, unlike accordion buttons which travel perpendicularly to it. Also, each button produces one note, while accordions typically can produce chords with a single button.

Bedtime Story

The theme this week at Wags ‘n Whiskers is called “Wrap it Up!” and the challenge is to create a tag, bag or box. I created this rather large tag using Bedtime Story, which can also be used as a Christmas ornament. Nothing is better than a cozy book and a relaxing holiday evening to enjoy it!

Wishing Well

The challenge this week at Make it Crafty is to create Anything But A Card. I put together the Wishing Well kit available from Make it Crafty and decorated it with butterflies and dragonflies. Drop in a coin and make a wish!

The instructions are written very well and it wasn’t that hard to put together. I forgot to count the number of pieces but they’re all labeled clearly. The hardest part was figuring out how to decorate it. I finally decided to use some new earth tone decorative papers and sanded the edges for a worn look.

The inside of the well is lined with blue paper and the bucket as has paper to make it look full of water. The best part, turning the handle will actually lift the bucket up and down too!

Did you know? Millipedes’ primary defense mechanism is to curl into a tight coil protecting their delicate legs inside an armored body exterior. Many species also emit poisonous liquid secretions or hydrogen cyanide gas through microscopic pores as a secondary defense. Animals such as Capuchin monkeys have been observed intentionally irritating millipedes in order to rub the chemicals on themselves to repel mosquitoes.

Update: I was selected as a top 5 at Meljen’s Designs for this challenge!
