Bailey

Welcome all to a day full of new releases at Little Miss Muffet Stamps! Head on over to the challenge blog to check out the design team’s awesome inspiration – they did a wonderful job. ;D But here I’ll show you three of the four and here’s my first one … Bailey!

This Little Miss was was inspired by several things currently around me but the main one being my five year old daughter. ;D She is so inquisitive lately and her hair is getting long and curly. Of course, I can glorify all those details in ink, of course. ;D

I made this a simple card to give focus to the image – mainly because I printed out the image larger than normal – just some gems, lace and faux stitching and Voilà! A card. ;D Hope you like it and stay tuned for a few more projects today.

I’d like to enter into the following challenges:
Stamp Something July Digi Days (use a digi)
Wags ‘n Whiskers Challenge #57 (summertime)
Crafty Catz Challenge #89 (colors of summer)
Charisma Cardz Challenge #26

(ice cream: chocolate cherry with caramel sauce)

From The Desk Of

After watching Annika’s coloring tutorial I decided to dig out my Prismacolor Pencils and give them another try. I learned two things while watching that I wanted to try out – first to use a paper with texture (a good tooth) and second I like how she started with a lighter color first.

The coloring actually worked out easier that I expected and the blending was smooth sailing! I didn’t have to press as hard as before and no minerals were needed for blending. I had to color this one in less than 15 minutes but loved how easily it turned out.

Main Stamp: From The Desk Of (Flourishes)

The border idea is from Jen (Deconstructing Jen). Thanks! ;D

Did you know? Grand Island is a town and an island in Erie County, New York, USA and is the largest island in the Niagara River.

Flutterby

Just posting a fun card I made using Flutterby from Tiddly Inks – she was such a cutie-patotie that I couldn’t resist! 😀 I really wanted to work with large areas to practice some new techniques so I printed her out large. I practiced adding folds and creases with shading in the jeans. It’s going to be an upcoming challenge (hint, hint, but I didn’t say where either) so I’m working out the technique.

The paper I used was perfect because it had so many colors to choose from – yet the image is large enough that it doesn’t look to busy to me. I embellished it with a few gems, flower and chippies too. I even added Stickles to the butterfly wings for fun. Hope you enjoy it!

Did you know? A tongue-twister is a phrase that is designed to be difficult to articulate properly, and can be used as a type of spoken (or sung) word game. Some tongue-twisters produce results which are humorous (or humorously vulgar) when they are mispronounced, while others simply rely on the confusion and mistakes of the speaker for their amusement value. For example, the following sentence is identified as the hardest tongue-twister in the English language, according to Guinness World Records.

“The sixth sick sheikh’s sixth sheep’s sick.”

Coriander

It’s the start of another challenge Little Miss Muffet Challenges and this time we’re digging into the warm colors! The theme this fortnight is “Reds, Oranges and Yellows” and we want to see your creation with all those colors.

I went with a summer theme, of course, and used Coriander on my project. I tried to use 100% warm colors but a just a tidbit of green found it’s way into my coloring. But somehow that splash of color works perfectly. ;D

As a side story, I had a dream, possibly a nightmare, that I went to a HOA meeting just out of curiosity but was somehow nominated to be on a board and before I walked out they had put me in as the president. Yikes… that’s a lot to take in but hopefully this card will wake me back up into a nice summer day in the backyard! LOL

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:
Crafting for All Seasons Challenge #2 (summer)
Anything Goes Challenge #42 (summer)
Bearly-Mine Challenge #13 (summer)
Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #19 (summer sun)

Did you know? Garbage Pail Kids is a series of trading cards originally released in 1985 and designed to parody the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls which were immensely popular at the time. Each sticker card featured a Garbage Pail Kid character, with some comical abnormality and/or suffering some terrible fate, and a humorous, word play-rich character name, such as Glandular Angela. During the height of the card series popularity, Garbage Pail Kids were banned in many schools worldwide.

Update: I was a random winner at Bearly Mine for this challenge!

Go Girl Go

It’s another challenge day at Little Darlings Challenges and this time we want to see you use your favorite colors. One of my favorite colors is pink so I had to have some of that on my card. I found some left over girlie Basic Gray paper that was perfect for the occasion.

The stamp I used was Go Girl Go and she is part of the second release of images from Love to Stamp. These care free spirited images are so much fun to color and can really be used various ways – I love using them with backgrounds but they’re also perfect to use on their own! ;D

I embellished it with a few traditional items and even dug out a forgotten ticket to use as the sentiment. I also used a few lasercut chipboards from Make it Crafty which I’m going to start calling Chippies. ;D Hope you enjoy the card and get a chance to “Play” this week!

Did you know? Tornadoes have been observed on every continent except Antarctica. However, the vast majority of tornadoes in the world occur in the Tornado Alley region of the United States, although they can occur nearly anywhere in North America. They also occasionally occur in south-central and eastern Asia, the Philippines, northern and east-central South America, Southern Africa, northwestern and southeast Europe, western and southeastern Australia, and New Zealand. Tornadoes can be detected before or as they occur through the use of Pulse-Doppler radar by recognizing patterns in velocity and reflectivity data, such as hook echoes, as well as by the efforts of storm spotters.
