Father’s Lion

It’s another challenge day with Little Miss Muffet Challenges and our theme is “Anything but a card!” (Or IF you’re using a Little Miss Muffet Stamp then the theme is “Anything Goes!”) I created a package tag that I made for a gift using the image called Father’s Lion.

This cute lion was the perfect touch I needed to dress up an otherwise plain gift and I love how easily it came together. The little tag is a diecut that just arrived in my mail. ;D You’ll also want to check out the challenge blog because we’re currently holding a DT Call! Click on the image below for all the details….

Belle and a Royal Proclamation

Welcome back for another Tuesday challenge with Tiddly Inks! The challenge this week is to create something with “Attitude” and this is the card I came up with…

It’s been fun combining the images and for this scene I used three Tiddly Ink images: Bella, Royal Proclamation and Door of Dreams. The sentiment is from a Inkadinkado Kids Quotes stamp but I punched it out on labeling tape and strung it across the top.

To add to the “attitude” I sketched in the skull on the door and went over it with a fine-tipped marker. Then I made sure I used one of my very few pieces of decorative paper with skulls on it, although I couldn’t help but to cover most of it up in the end. But don’t worry – I was still able to fit a few chippies in there. LOL

I practiced more with creating folds on the dresses. At first I didn’t think it would turn out by using my own advise “I just kept going!” I was actually surprised how well it turned out. So when in doubt, just keep going. 😀 And don’t forget to practice those folds and creases in the clothing! (hint hint wink wink)

Catch a Falling Star

Is this song stuck in your head yet? All I had to do was look at the image and I’ve been singing “Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, save it for a rainy day” all week! LOL The image is “Little Darlings: Catch a Falling Star” sold by Love to Stamp and was a fun image to work with.

I created another one-layer card with inspiration from Jen on the borders. I also colored this one with Prismacolor Pencils on Kraft cardstock and it’s getting easier for me. Now I just need to get familiar with the colors so I know what I’m mixing together.

Have a great weekend!

Siren of Pearls

For those celebrating the 4th of July this weekend – Happy Holidays! Our challenge this time at Make it Colourful is to “Add reflections to water” and is so much easier than it sounds. Give it a try but you’re welcome to check back on the challenge site on Tuesday for a few tips.

This is my card and I merged three Make it Crafty images together: Pirate Ship, Palm Trees and Siren of Pearls. Even though it turned out well, I had lots of problems with my coloring – can you believe it?! I tried out a new paper and it was like coloring on dry chalks – just soaked up the ink with no room for blending.

The reflection in the water is done by adding blobs of color under the objects – like orange under the mermaid; and browns and dark blues under the boat and island; and green under the leaves. The way I colored the water made it easy to daub it in without much blending needed – good thing for me. ;D After that I added some white highlights back into the water with a white gel pen.

DT Challenge: Make it Colourful Challenge #25
Main Stamp:
Pirate Ship, Palm Trees and Siren of Pearls (MiC)
Patterned Paper: le Cirque (Graphic45)
Chipboard: Flower Leaf Swirls (MiC)

I finally bought an old dictionary at a used bookstore so I could tear out pages for projects and used one on this one. I love the printed text, however, I hardly ever read what words I’ve pulled so hopefully any naughty words get hidden. LOL Anyway, here’s a close up of the Siren of Pearls – I love how bright her tail turned out next to that blue water.

Just a few reminders/announcements: Don’t forget about the fabulous challenges taking place to celebrate Make it Crafty’s first birthday!! You can check out those details HERE. Lastly, Tiddly Inks and Make it Crafty and coming out with a joint release so make sure to check out the details HERE. Have a great weekend and be safe!

Adela and Dida Inventing

A Mom can do anything… and so can a fairy! This is Adela the fairy and her little dog Dida who just finishing up a task and is waiting for the next work project. 😀 If I was to include a sentiment it would be one that I saw on Melissa‘s project last week… “A man’s got to do what a man’s got to do. A woman must do what he can’t.”

This fairy is another new releases at Little Miss Muffet Stamps the the second fairy I’ve added. ;D I have another one planned so I hope you like her character. ;D I colored in cool colors this time and used up the last of my gear chippies – I’ll have to order more!

Other than adding a few gems and drawing in some faux stitching that pretty much completes the card. But in other great news… come check out the Little Miss Muffet Store as I’ve made some huge changes. I’ve made it easier to find images and gave them a fun uniform look. Enjoy and I hope you like the postcards!

I’d like to enter into the following challenges:
Digi Doodle Shops Best Challenge #65 (anything goes)
Forever Friends Challenge (birthday with animal friend)
Just for Fun Challenge (anything goes)
Southern Girls Challenge (childhood memories: I always remember “helping” my dad fix his cars and boats in the garage. I was the “go getter” and would get all his tools that were out of reach.)

Licorice

This little cutie is one of the new releases at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and you can check them all out over at the challenge blog. After coloring up a Red Riding Hood I was inspired todraw a girl with red apples – only now do I see that it could be a reference to Snow White. LOL

I used the N range of Copic colors to color the hair black as I had always used the W range before – I like how this turned out better as I think it has less of a gray look and more of a shiny black look which is what I wanted. But don’t those applies look yummy?!

The background is created with a diecut pack that I got at my local hobby store. I think it’s by K&Co but it included about dozen garden themed cut outs. The butterfly is from the same cutout but from the side I cut off the card – I thougt it make a nice subtle embellishment.

I’d like to enter into the following challenges:
Craft Us Crazy Challenge #11 (summer theme)
Clearly Inspired Challenge #31 (diecuts, cutouts)
