Bliss

It’s another challenge at Some Odd Girl and the theme for March is a sketch! Be sure to head on over to the SOG Challenge blog to see the sketch and all the other fabulous inspiration from the design team. Here’s my project for the challenge…

I used Bliss for the image from Some Odd Girls, one of the Nouveau Girls. The sentiment stamp is from Whimsy and the frame around it is a chippie accent from Make it Crafty. I’ve taken this sketch and turned it upside down then enlarged the center portion which is represented by the black gate. The gate was cut in Tim Holtz Grungeboard on the Cricut cutter and is from the Ornamental Iron 2 cartridge.

I colored her in autumn colors for two reasons… one, I’ve only seen her colored in spring or bright colors so it was a fun experiment; and two, the current challenge at Make it Colourful is autumn colors so I grabbed that for my inspriation. For a final touch I “sprinkled” some brown and orange gems on two of the corners.

Hope youve enjoyed this project for today and thanks for stoppig by! 😀

Beetlejuice Burton Chibi

It’s Beetlejuice!! SBS style that is – but today he’s here as your friendly Realtor! Oh, I know, bright and colorful and oh’ so scary … just like a real Realtor. LOL I once had a boss that had thick hair and bushy eyebrows such as these and when he smilied he was just as creepy. He was missing the piano key teeth, however, but if there was a rainbow suit in his wardrobe I’m sure he’d wear it. (Oozing slime comes to mind.)

The image is Beetlejuice Burton Chibi from Simply B Stamps which is being released this week! This is only the third image of six that we have to show off with a blog hop at the end (Friday) that you don’t want to miss out on. 😀 Come on over to the SBS Blog for more inspiration and to cheer on our guest for today too!

The screen door idea from a challenge blog I recently visited, Card Crafte’r Circle, and went out the next day to buy some screen material. I found some at good’ol Walmart for a cheap price, of course, and now I have enough to make screen doors for the rest of my life! But most of it will probably stay hidden in the closet with some other bulk material. 😀

So if you’re still with me this week in my quest to brighten these Tim Burton digis then you’ll have to tell me how I did on this one. I’m starting to think, once you’ve been Tim Burton-ized, there is no going back!! Muah ha ha ha.

Mrs. Lovett Burton Chibi

Welcome to the second day of previews from Simply B Stamps! Yesterday we had Todd Sweeney so naturally today we’re showing you Mrs. Lovett… and yes, I tried to work my little magic and turned her frown upside down. LOL I’d have to admit that Mr. Todd didn’t make the cutest clown but how did I do on this one?

The image is Mrs. Lovett Burton Chibis from Simply B Stamps. I’ve used a tag die from Stampin’ Up and the clouds die from My Favorite Things to create this festive tag. The fun bright colors help with the mirage and give it a most cheerful look, I think.

Here’s a close up – for this image I covered the questionable parts … her hand now holds a cherry instead of an ear, and the try has three sweet treats instead of the traditional Sweeney minced pies in cupcake style. 😀 Both were drawn on the side then cut out and pasted on top of the main image.

Head on over to the SBS Blog for more inspiration AND details on the current digis that are available this week – you don’t want to miss either of them!

Mr. Todd Burton Chibi

Today kicks off the previews for the new releases over at Simply B Stamps and we have six surprising Tim Burton characters to show! For those big fans of the movie, Sweeney Todd, might want to close your eyes because I’ve decided to feature him on one of his more happier days!! This is Mr. Todd as a clown juggling his very own set of bowling pins – and since all clowns are scary, I didn’t think this one would be much different. LOL

The image used is Mr. Todd Burton Chibi from Simply B Stamps and a couple hand drawn bowling pins to make it more cheerful. The two covering up the blades in his hands were cut at the top then placed over the knives. The other three pins are popped up with dimensionals.

Make sure you check out the SBS Blog to see the other creations for this image and join us all week long as we bring you one Burton classic after another. 😀 And for an extra challenge on myself, I’m going to try to make them as cheery as possible… so you’ll have to tell me if I succeeded or failed! LOL Thanks for dropping by! 😀

Bear’s Underwear

Here’s my project for today… it doesn’t look like much but I’ll have to tell you it’s one of the more important projects I’ve done in a while!! What is it you ask? Well, this is a pair of Bear’s Underwear!!! One side is for Wednesday and the other side is for Friday. 😀 Confused yet? Check out this adorable potty training book called Piggy and Bear in their Underwear by Dara Goldman!

For years we’ve been missing this pair of boxers and it hasn’t bothered my other daughters but this time around it was different. You see, on the border of each page is the pattern and color of the undies that are suppose to be placed on that page. The other kids didn’t care and would fit and exchange all the boxers… but this little peanut… well, let’s just say it’s a big deal! LOL

I cut out three layers of grunge board plus two more from white cardstock. I drew in the shapes to match the border of that page then colored them with Copic markers. Finally I glued all the layers together then sanded the edges. Finished! Now we have a complete wardrobe and I have a happy toddler! 😀

La Jeune Fille à l’Eventail

It’s finally here!! The day the winners are announced for the mini Paris Blog Hop at Little Miss Muffet Challenges AND the winners of the Paris “Love” Challenge at ThreeCompaniesTeamUp blog!! Check out both places and see if you’re a winner! Plus the latest issue of the Whimsy Magazine has come out featuring even more Paris inspired projects – check out Issue 7, pages 46-60!

For my project I used elements from all three companies… La Jeune Fille à l’Eventail from Little Miss Muffet Stamps (which means “The Girl with a Fan” in case you were wondering), Vintage Travel Postage Stamps from Whimsy, and Love Heart Swirls chipboard accessents from Make it Crafty.

I colored his French girl for the rubber stamp packaging which was done a while ago so putting together the card went by fast. It’s nice when that happens sometimes! Nothing extra special about the card layout except I was able to use a new Netabilities die I got last week and I was even good to use a few old flowers I’ve had laying around. So that would be something new, something old… now I’d just need something borrowed! LOL

Hope you’ve enjoyed all the Paris inspired festivities and have a Happy Leap Year day!! After all, it only comes around once in a blue moon… I mean once in four years! He he he
