Sugar ‘n Spice Sentiment

It’s an inspiration day at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and that means the design team got to create anything they wanted! You should head on over there and see what they’ve made – it’s fantastic! 😀 But wait, before you go, I have three projects to show … check them out!

My first project uses one of the Sugar ‘n Spice Sentiments from Little Miss Muffet Stamps which was released last week. It was a fun way to say “sugar and spice plus nice” equals everything nice, of course! I chose a pink and dark brown color scheme, which is my favorite, and added a rose ribbon and some Make it Crafty chippies with pearls.

The other project I have is one that has been in the making for over a year! I bought an ornament on clearance in 2010 knowing I could so something with it but it took me all the way until now to do so. LOL I had cut open the box and moved aside the purse to place one of the hatter girls in there…

This is Wilma Kay Hatter and she fit perfectly inside! I popped her in with tons of dimentionsals and then sealed up the box – finished and a quick project too. Love it when that happens. Now I have my Christmas ornament for this year and will probably add a date to the back.

The last project I have for you is one by our Jr. Crafter Lydia! She loves making cards with me and this time she used Iris May Hatter … another Hatter from Little Miss Muffet Stamps. She’s so clever with her paper crafting! Now if only I can get her to use glue instead of endless rolls of tape. LOL Lydia says it’s a pocket card and the top part folds down behind the image with a note that goes inside.

I’d like to enter these into the following challenges:

Party Time Tuesday Challenge #61 – Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Challenges – Anything Goes
Waste Not Wednesday Week #13 Challenge – Forgotten Supplies
Creative Crafts Challenge – Anything but a card
Digital Tuesday Challenge #153 – Your favorite color

Little Witch

It’s a new Halloween challenge at Simply B Stamps starting today and our theme for Challenge #3 for you this month is “Stitching and Fabric!” I took the opportunity to use both and I must say, after getting the stitching done, my hands hurt…. OWWIEE! I tried using the Sew Easy tool but I must have done it wrong and ended up punching each hold by hand as I stitched along.

For my project I used Little Witch by Simply B Stamps and printed her out to be large on the card. I did my stitching first then added the image and fabric. As a final touch I added a felt pumpkin, some flowers and a few gems for sparkle.

This little witch has her petticoat and jacket on ready to head to the market for some bat whiskers, mummified toenails, black cat fat, vampire blood, gargoyle sweat and troll teeth. Yep, that should do it. LOL Don’t forget to head on over to the SBS Blog and check out the other design team creations. Thanks for stopping by. ;D

Dancer

I have a fun project to bring you today featuring Some Odd Girl! Our latest incentive at our house is to earn tickets which can be spent on endless screen time… well, not quite endless but 3 tickets at a time. I only wish I could say my house was spotless because they’re trying to earn more tickets than their sisters, but noooo. However, it was a good excuse to make a ticket holder. LOL

This project uses one of the Nouveau Girls, Dancer from Some Odd Girl, which is perfect for my daughter’s personality. She asked me to color it like her and make sure she was “modest” – so I gave her blonde hair, brown eyes, and made the top into a blouse (hiding her belly button with a polkadot). LOL She loves it! 😀

After decorating the front, we glued magnets on the back and then placed it on the refrigerator. Even though it isn’t bursting with tickets, I can at least say it looks lovely on fridge. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Soccer Edwin

Welcome back! I thought I get these all up quickly so they can “live” together as a set in blogland as you scroll down the posts. LOL So this evening I have Pablo the penguin, the last character I did from The Backyardigans. 😀

For this character I used Soccer Edwin from Magnolia Stamps and I must say the beak give him quiet the different appearance! I think it’s been fun to see how the combinations have come together and I loved adding his propeller beanie hat.

Here’s the complete set of cards that I will be giving as a gift. Having them put all together they scream Nickelodeon with all the bright colors – perfect for kids. 😀 And it doesn’t help much that I get The Backyardigans theme song stuck in my head. LOL (And if not that song, then certainly another one from the show!)

I couldn’t resit putting the whole gang together for one big group shot. He he he. These are the same images colored but temporarily placed on this background just to see them all together. I made the sun rays with vellum cardstock and tried to duplicate some stickers I found.

With the gang all together, are your ready for the theme song?!

Spoken:
Hi, I’m Pablo.
My name’s Tyrone.
I’m Uniqua.
I’m Tasha.
And my name is Austin.
And we’re …

Sung:
Your backyard friends, the Backyardigans!
Together in the backyard again,
In the place where we belong,
Where we’ll prob’ly sing a song,
And we’ll maybe dance along.

We’ve got the whole wide world in our yard to explore.
We always find things we’ve never seen before.
That’s why every day we’re back for more
With your friends, the Backyardigans.

Tilda with Peonytails

We’re getting near the end of our “new” Backyardigans characters and I think Pablo is the only one left! However, you’ll have to wait for him because right now I’m showing off Tasha!! This is Tilda with Peonytails colored to look like Tasha the hippo. She and Tyrone have been my favorites with this experiment.

I originally had the peony colored pin, then changed it to tan and finally settled on purple – so luckily I was using a durable enough paper that I could keep adding layers! (I think it’s Make it Crafty Blending Stock or Stamping Bella.) But instead of going with something dark, I left h edges in pink with highlights form a white gel pen which I think turned out well.

The chippies I’ve been using on these cards is from Make it Crafty and are the Mix ‘n Match Centres for flowers but I like to use them as is. They’d be really cool with acrylic paint in a flower so maybe I’ll try that out on my next project before they’re all gone. 😀 Hope you like Tasha and stay tuned for more Backyardigans fun comeing this week!

Tennis Edwin

Today I’m bringing you Tennis Edwin as Austin the kangaroo! He’s another one of the characters in The Backyardigans and is usually described as “the one pulling up the rear. He’s kind of a get-along guy.” Some says he’s shy and other say grumpy or more villainous but I guess it just depends on the episode. Personally, he’s one of my favorites. 😀

I was debating on taking the tennis elements out but decided to leave them in and do as little alteration to the actual line-art as possible. So I stuck with coloring in some ears, gave him a tale and added the face. However, he’s the only character with a nose-nose!

I can’t believe the show is already finished with it’s fourth season and there’s about a dozen that I’ve missed! I’ll have to get on the DVR and see if I can fix that. He he he. Do you have a favorite episode? Daddy loves Samurai Pie and Mission to Mars. Not sure if I have a favorite but I’m always singing “Please and Thank You” (tune: “Shine On, Harvest Moon“) from Key to the Nile to my kids. LOL
