Teen Scene Back To School

I’ve got some news to share today, a little on the sad side unfortunately.  I’ve had a wonderful time being on the DT for Simply B Stamps and Simply Challenged Challenges but all things must come to and end.  Most of you know that I’m going back to school full time and wish I could do it all while I did it.  Anyway, this will be my last post as officially on the team but certainly not my last post so you can all breath now.  😀  After all, I bought a new spider punch yesterday just for my SBS cards!!  Hopefully I’ll be able to join in one or two of the challenges in between my school work.

For this project I used three Teen Scene images in the front and set them up waiting for the school bus to arrive.  😀  From left to right are Sporty Lola, Book Pile Miller and Teachers Pet Betty from Simply B Stamps.  Then the background image is Post Office from Just Inklined so the scene takes up the entire card.

My kids take the bus to school so this was directly inspired by them and the mingling of various kids at the corner.  It’s so fun to see all the styles and personalities as they come together for those few moments in the morning.  Don’t you wish the whole school day could be like?!

I want to give a huge thank you to Betty and Suzi for having me on the team and thank you to all my team mates for their inspiring projects each and every week!  I’m going to miss being on the team so I’ll have to be sure to join in on the challenges here and there!  😀  Thank you!

Gloria

We have a fun plost over at Little Miss Muffet Challenges this week as we’re in between challenges and new releases – so the design team has created anything they wanted and are showing them today!  It’s a post that you don’t want to miss out on!  For my project, I used an image that was colored a while ago and decided to adorn her onto a card and this is what I came up with…

For my project I have used Gloria from Little Miss Muffet Stamps as well as the Park Glen Door diecut from Little Miss Muffet Stamps (with the included screen mesh).  The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up as is in French which roughly translates to “The day of your birth is the greatest gift.”  The paper is from Authentique, I think, and it really is that neon blue!!  This is about the sixth time I’ve used and photographed it and the neon always shocks me – just not my taste so I might have to pass the rest of that package off onto my kids.  They’ll love it, I’m sure!  LOL

It’s the start of school week for my family down to the very last one of us!  I started another semester of night school, my two older daughters are going back to elementary school and my youngest has started preschool this year!  What I didn’t know was that my husband is taking a technology class for work this week as well!!  So we’ve all got school on our minds at this house.  😀  Anyway, thanks for coming by and hope you are all having a great week!

Emo Back 2 School Christian

It’s another challenge opening up at Simply Challenged Challenges and today’s theme is a “Halloween Spin!”  We want you to create a Halloween spinner card or a card that moves – there’s lots of ideas so show us what you got.  The DT is using the Back 2 School Emo collection so I’ve combined the two themes (school and Halloween) and came up with this project.

My card uses Back 2 School Emo Christian from Simply B Stamps and some papers from Cloud9Design.  I wanted to keep all the bottles at the bottom of the paper so my card came together simply.  For the moving elements, I decided to have a clock and set it to the time that school starts but it can be changed to any time of the day.

I think this will be perfect to use for a teacher card in October.  😀  Don’t forget to drop by the SCC Blog to see everyone else’s project and get you inspired for spinners!  Thanks for dropping by today and hope your week is off to a great start!

Elven Hestia

I don’t know how I do it but I always seem to be late for my Make it Craft post.  Oh, well, better late than  never, right?  On the MiC Store Blog, remember last time I had colored Elvin Hestia?  Well this time I thought I would create a card from it and to give it a little extra zing, I decided to color the chipboard too.  I selected the largest one I had and brought out my Prismacolored Pencils for the task.  The credit for this fantastic idea actually goes to Zoe when she shared a similar project a while back.

The chipboard on this project is Butterfly Swirls Chipboard from Make it crafty.  As many know, I don’t like to color with my pencils, however, coloring on the chipboard is a completely different story.  I was able to layer the colors and blend them in with no problem at all.  The coloring went quickly – partly because it was a small area and I didn’t have to worry about the lines.  I did, however, try to keep my coloring strokes in the same direction especially on the butterfly wings where it would be noticeable.

I basically used greens and yellows for the stems, silvers and ivory for the bubbles, brown for the butterfly body, and lastly lots of blues for the wings from light blue-cream to almost a black-blue.  I had so much fun on the main chippie that I decided to keep at it and colored the other two smaller butterflies and two corners.

If you have a moment you should visit the MiC Store Blog for all sorts of tips and coloring inspiration – it’s amazing what the rest of the design team has made and I they always inspire me.  Thanks for coming by and have a great weekend!

Zabel

There is another challenge opening up at Little Miss Muffet Challenges today and the theme is “Pink, Pink, Pink!”  One of my favorites, however, I have a different colored card to show you today… green.  How’s that for logic!  LOL  Actually this is a great time to spill some beans since it reflects to much on my project… although, don’t worry as those beans aren’t that scary.  He he he

The image I used on my project is Zabel from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and was directly inspired by my school hours. So have you figured out my “beans” yet?  I’m going back to school for another torturous semester.  I’ll be around but more in the background and under the table… maybe a nap in the bed too?   But no matter where, I’ll be studying.

The sentiment on the project is “Dream as if you’ll live forever.”

Thanks for coming by today and make sure you head on over to the LMM Challenge blog to see everyone’s “Pink, Pink, Pink” projects – you’re going to love them!!

Christmas Zombies Caleb & Levi

We’re opening another challenge at Simply Challenged Challenges and this time it’s Anything Goes!!  The design team is using the Christmas Zombies and I merged them together with some other images and created this fun scene…

Are you ready for all the images?  First there are three images from Simply B Stamps in the foreground which are Rudolph Head Caleb, Rudolph Tail Levi and Artist London.  Then the background are Paris Elements in a pre-merged scene from Make it Crafty named Cafe de Paris Scene.  I loved using the canvas on Artist London and the ideas are limitless.  😀

I’ve colored Caleb and Levi once before and de-zombiefied them which also turned out cute – these two are great either way!  LOL  The card I made with this can be seen HERE but you can see the colored image below as they figure out how rudolph works.  But that’s not all, I have them HERE and HERE in their full zombi glory on a couple of journal pages I created!!  😀

I hope you get a change to also visit the Simply Challenged Challenges blog to see what the oter girls have made for this challenge – they’re awesome!  Thanks for coming by and I hope you have started out your week with none of those Monday Blues!  This is my (and my kids’) last week of summer which I’m pretty bumbed about.  😦  If only I had another month.  But o’well, school must go on!!
