Sometime I just get lucky and today is one of them… there is a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps opening up today and the theme is “It’s a Doodle!” I thought I was doomed and didn’t have a card ready. 😦 I had been working in the background on some new images and completely forgot about it, to be honest. So I was just about to hang up my hat… er, put my Copics away, when I found this card already finished. AND it has doodling on it! How awesome is that?!
You may not recognize this image right away but it’s a Sugar & Spice Dolls named Cocoa from Little Miss Muffet Stamps. When I inked her, I cleaned off the rubber stamp on her arm and her foot. Then when I was coloring, I added “stuffing” that was coming out. Also this is one of the images I colored using only 4 Copic colors!! That’s right… only 4! I used N6, G46, V17 and YG21. (Plus the blender marker but I wasn’t counting that. LOL) You should give it a try. ;D
My doodling in around the edges of the image as well as doodling on the image itself – I added extra stitching, tears in the clothing, and thread where there are holes in the doll. See, there’s lots you can do with a doodling challenge!!
It’s October and that means the scary images are out and ready to be colored! This project features Skeleton Luka from La La Land Crafts combined with images from Make it Crafty (Egyptian Chair, Egyptian Vase #1 and Egyptian Vase #4) to create this spooky scene. Looks like the LLLC Customer Gallery is gone but if it comes back up then I’ll enter this into the mix.
The face was directly inspired by Jennifer‘s amazing skeleton image she colors with another Make it Crafty image – one, that I’m proud so say, that I own! Eeek! Jennifer put it in an awesome frame and I’ve got it out for the season – it’s amazing! (If she doesn’t post pictures soon then I might leak a few of my own. LOL)
One of the challenges at Make it Colourful this month is to color eyes and so this one, though red and yellow, is one of my attempts at doing realistic eyes. I goofed on the highlights and should have kept the white parts the same on both eyes instead of mirroring it – but hay, learn and live. 😀
I’ve adored the fantasy collection ever since it’s come out and for some reason it’s taken me this long to get to them – for shame on me! LOL For this scene that I created, I cropped the character and then reduced the background. This, I hoped, created a photo look as if she was on holiday at some famous location. But hay, maybe this is her backyard and she has this awesome view everyday! LOL
The hair color is actually what inspired me to color this image – they’re the same colors I did the “Demon Clown Mommy” but this time I wanted to see how it looked on a princess image. It was such a gorgeous combo! The colors were Copics YR31, YR14, YR27, E07, E18 and E49.
I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:
Artistic Inspirations Challenge #62 – Anything Girly
Lunagirl Moonbeams Challenge – Lady Blue
Make it Monday Link #161 – Anything Goes
Make My Monday Challenge – Elegant Ladies
It’s October and starting to get chilly already… but I’m cranking away (I hope) on my goals for the end of the year. These are goals I’ve set for myself and so the end date is flexible, but having it so close is also getting me motivated. 😀 I’ll share “my numbers” as of now but first…. who’s up for some ice skating?
Here’s a couple links that I’ll share, the first one being the image I used on this project which you can find in the Little Miss Muffet Stamps store. And the second link is to the LMMS blog and LMMS gallery where you’ll find lots of other inspiration using these images!
As for writing this post, my goals on the upper left side of the blog are pretty small. LMMS is 16 out of 44; MiC is 7 out of 150; SBS is 1 out of 13; and the overall C2C is 12 out of 252. Now you can compare those number with the current numbers and let me know if I’ve progressed any – because sometimes I like to ignore them! LOL
