Graffiti Zowie

This is my little apology project I had to color to make up for the last urban graffiti project I had colored.   I feel much better about this one!  I also thought it would be fun to share graffiti terminology and I posted that on the Graffiti Party blog to share with every one… check it out by clicking HERE and add a few words to your vocabulary.  😀

Remember there is still time to get your urban graffiti project into the challenge for a chance to win several grand prizes!!  Check out the Graffit Party blog!

The Make it Crafty and Little Miss Muffet images I used on this project are as follows:

Anything Goes Challenge #101 – Out with the Girls

Graffiti Party

Here’s my attempt at creating a grunge rock band in the garage – and it may look ok, but this one is actually on my yuck list.  We’ve all got to have them right?  Well, this one is mine for the week.  I think it’s the colors of the background and wish I had done that differently.

The images I used on this project are many…  from Little Miss Muffet I used Graffiti Party and from Make it Crafty:  Drummer Dude, Rocker Dude, Rockstar Singer, and an element from the Paris Building Digi Elements to create the floor.

Then once I figured I had “lost” the image, I decided to see what a spotlight would look like and if I could add a disco ball effect… disco and grunge?  Yeah, I know, it’s just another example of a bad decision.  LOL  I don’t think the effect turned out well either but you can decide… for me it looks like it’s snowing.

It’ll probably make an ok boy card but I think I should have left it alone when I had the chance.  Calling it good and packing up my bag is something I need to work on.  😀

Melyssa and April

The challenge this month at Make it Colourful is all about the eyes and I’ve colored two more projects for inspiration!  Check out all the details and other DT inspiration on the Make it Colorful blog and you can also find more buzz in the MiC FB group as everyone shares their creations.

For my projects today, I’ve colored two Make it Crafty images,

This first one is Melyssa.  I started off coloring up some rainbow eyes as a challenge from Amy Heffernan.  I found my inspiration from sanguisGelidus Universe Eye and loved how the universe what reflected in them.  Here’s a little break down of how I did that part…

First I added the rainbow colors; then brought in the blue.  After that, I should have done the black but I did the highlights instead!  LOL  And then that’s when I remembered I got a little carried away and went back in to shade the white part of the eye and to also add the black and eyelash shadows.  I also used the star highlights and brought that out into the sky.

The next part was to add the colors around the eyes using PixieCold Cold Fire Eye as inspiration.  This was a challenge set up by Zoe and I almost didn’t think I could pull it off until I added the white gel pen which seemed to fix the problem.  Phew, problem solved and I don’t have to try this one again.  LOL

This second image is April and she was inspired by my teamie Michelle who colored this same image with pencils.  It was amazing and I thought if I could do just half as good that I’d learn something!  However, as a little twist, since I knew I wouldn’t be able to color it exactly, I wanted to play around with wrinkles.  So this is the Senior version of her original… older and still beautiful!

Lastly, since I’ve been inspired by all sorts of people, you might have noticed this image has a turtleneck sweater on instead of her normal tank top.  That was Anne Liese Johannessen who said it was a mistake but I thought was a brilliant idea!

Hooked

I finally made a project with the Swings ‘n Slides Hooked image I colored for the 7 Colors challenge that Faye put out on LMMS FB group!  (Wow, that was a mouth full!  LOL)  So about two months ago Faye challenged me to color an image using only 7 colors.  Then about a month ago is when I started to get serious about it.   Yeah, I know, a month?!  Lucky for me, the gals on FB decided that the blender pen was more of an eraser than a color and was allowed.  So, 7 colors, but 8 markers.  Here’s the end result:

The image is Swings ‘n Slides Hooked from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and drawn by Pollycraft.  The colors I used are G46, W7, R17, E00, E59, YR31 and E23 plus the “eraser” too.  I chose this image because it gave me five large “blocks” that would show off the colors nicely.  And I wanted to use a lot of colors to be impressive too!  So picking out the colors was tedious because each color had to be used in multiple places.  For example, the green area has gray, green and yellow; and the red area has brown, red and yellow.  And oddly enough, the orange was the hardest color to squeeze out!

The dragonflies are chipboard accessories from Make it Crafty and Zoe also sent me the sandal charm.  Thanks Zoe!  And thanks Faye for the challenge too!  😀

Sunbonnet Strawberry Jam

What a day!  And oh, I’m so glad it’s over!  The kids are in bed and I can finally sit down and relax – not that they were any trouble, it’s just that the quiet time is sooo nice after a Saturday of playing.  LOL Anyway, I wanted to share this card and it’s one I’ve been excited about – I’ve made some peach jam this week and the whole time I had this stamp idea in my mind.  I couldn’t wait to try it.  😀

This image is Sunbonnet Strawberry Jam from Little miss Muffet Stamps and drawn by Bugaboo.  The hat usually has seeds on it like a strawberry but after inking it up, I wiped them away with tissue.   Then with the seeds removed, I was able to color her peach for my peach jam.  😀

Sonny Honeycloud Mistletoe

Today is Super Saturday at Little Miss Muffet Stamps where we feature a rubber stamp that will be on sale for the week plus the freebie image for the day!  This is a limited time special and today I wanted to create something with the rubber stamp: Sonny Honeycloud Mistletoe!  She’s a popular one and you’ll want to make sure to visit the LMMS Blog for the other fabulous DT creations!

I went with some simple and used one layer of cardstock, Crygon sparkling white, and stamped my image directly on the page.  (The little ticket is a stamp from Stampin’ Up!) Then I used some ribbon, a ticket and staples for embellishments.  There is a little doodling on the card too for the border and wind, as you can plainly see.  He he he

I went with a non-traditional color pallet and chose green, brown/tan and yellow/gold for this one.  The green is just enough to say Christmas but the yellow and brown off set it enough to be different.  Don’t miss out on this one and jump into the LMMS Store to scoop her up while she’s on discount!!
