Popcorn & Cotton Candy

Welcome to another challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps where this week our theme is “You’ve Been Framed!”  There might be many different ways to interpret this challenge and it would hilarious to see something regarding stolen cookies from the cookie jar.  LOL  However, the main idea is to use a frame on or around another stamp.  Here’s my interpretation…

For my project, I used Swings ‘n Slides Popcorn and Swings ‘n Slides Cotton Candy from Little Miss Muffet Stamps which were drawn by Pollycraft.  Then the poloroid photo frame and accessories in the Say Cheese set from Lawn Fawn.  The card layout was one I spotted on Pinterest but when I went back to grab the link, it had disappeared. 😦  So somewhere out there is a similar card that I really liked where I got my inspiration from.

These two characters are rubber stamps and I used a masking technique to stamp them close together.  However, don’t look too closely or you might find a mistake here and there.   LOL  These rubber stamps can be found in the LMMS Store and you can find the “You’ve Been Framed” challenge at the LMMS Store Blog.

Clover New Snow Clouds

I have a special post today and I’m excited to share that I’ve been asked to participate in an Advent Calendar by Bastel-Traum!  I have both a project to share plus a little story on how my family celebrate the Christmas season.  😀  Before we get to the store, here’s the project I made using Clover New Snow Clouds and Party Banner Metal Die from Little Miss Muffet Stamps…  my family traditions follow.  ;D

The Christmas traditions in my family take a twist from what you might expect during the holidays but we find it a good mix between a Jolly Santa, Christ and the gift giving spirit.  Each year on Christmas Eve we gather together as a family and have a “Shepherd’s Dinner.”  The family sits on the floor gathered around the fireplace for a picnic style meal.  It’s a bit posh compared to the olde times but it’s a visual remembrance of what it might have been like the night of the first Christmas Eve. Our dinner consists of a selection of breads, meats, cheeses, and fruits.  We follow up with a Christmas story and devotional, traditionally one that Grandma has picked out.

Later that evening is when “St. Nicholas soon would be there; the children [are] nestled all snug in their beds; [and] visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.”  Each one in turn will wake up out of bed and place a secrete gift under the tree and as they do so, they must say “Ho, ho, ho!”  LOL  We keep it a secret by labeling the gift “from Santa” but sometimes timing our secrete escapade can be tricky.  Mommy or Daddy will help the littlest ones and when morning comes, it’s so fun to see that so may “Santas” have visited the tree.  The kids still enjoy the magical aspect of Santa with their friends and enjoy keeping it a secret.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you get a chance to visit Bastel-Traum this season and check out the other calendar goodies that are being opened each day!  Seasons Greetings!

Attitude

I just wanted to share a project I had made using the November sketch.  I used a faceless stamp by hÄnglar & stÄnglar and colored in a face using my Copic markers.  This was a little different than what I’ve normally worked with since the eyes are a little closer together and I had to figure out a work around.  But after coloring up this darling, I thought the best background would be a little ground stamp from Make it Crafty and I just so happened to have the rubber stamp of Petals and Palings – perfect!

I stamped the edges of the Petals & Palings fence on both sides so I didn’t have to mask the girl stamp.  So basically… the left side is on the right and the right side is on the left.  😀  Then to put the whole project together, I used the fabulous sketch provided for this month and some fun spring time decorative paper.  It’s not exactly spring in my area but they were just the right colors to go along with this red head.

Finally as a last embellishment, I used a flower corner punch to punch out the yellow flowers.  They were curled using an embossing tool and glued on top of the flowers in the image.  Then a self sticking gem was placed in the center.  I hope you like this project and thanks for coming by!

Fancy Sunbonnet Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating today!  I couldn’t think of a better card than to show one using  Fancy Sunbonnet Thanksgiving from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  This one was is available in rubber in the LMMS store.  It’s such a fun image to color and that turkey will make for a yummy meal, I’m sure.  😀

I love autumn colors, but I chose papers that were slightly less traditional.  I was still able to pull in the browns an creams, but this time instead of orange and reds, I used peaches and rust.

Thank you to everyone who comes by my blog for inspiration!  Thank you to those who leave comments and socialize in other ways.  And especially thank you to all the Little Misses out there who color and create with LMM stamps!  You’re all the best and it’s because of you that I’m able to enjoy what I do a little bit more.  *Hugs

Couple Expecting Baby

The challenge at Make it Colourful for the month of November is about “skin and muscle definition” and there’s still time to participate.  The image I colored for this challenge is Couple Expecting, which you’ve seen already, but now I have it mounted on on a card.  This one isn’t my favorite but I worked wanted to work with colors that I normally ignore; hence the green and purple combination.  The card is simple and I added just a few self-sticking gems and ribbon.

The muscle areas I tried to focus on was the man’s face, neck and arm; I even gave him laugh lines at the corner of his eyes!  😀  For her, I left the muscles soft and less pronounced then tried to work a little bit on adding makeup to her eyes, cheeks, lips and fingernails.
