Lucy’s Broken Dolly

The challenge for Make it Colourful this month is combined with The Squirrel and the Fox Challenge blog which Make it Crafty is also sponsoring.   The part of the challenge I went for is “Something Girly” as well as “Pink and Brown” and the image I colored is Lucy’s Broken Dolly from Make it Crafty.  There are many “Zoe influences” on this card too – the lighter lines (not quite no-lines but getting closer LOL), the hair technique and the yellow glow in the background.  😀

I started a new ATC journal and Lucy is lucky enough to be on the first page!  I also used other fun things on here like the MiC chippie clock.  Then also some things from Faye too – the doily, buttons, and bird – thank you Faye!!  I’m excited to start the new journal so you’ll probably see more from me in the future.  😀

Polka Dot Pals Lydie

Little Miss Muffet Stamps are sponsoring the current Challenge at Sketch Saturday, (please pop over to Sketch Saturday for all the details) and this week, it’s a special week…

Today, Sketch Saturday is celebrating 6 years! Jo Edwards posted the very first sketch Challenge on 31 May 31 2008.To help celebrate 6 years of sketches, we are having a Blog Hop with Little Miss Jo, and the Sketch Saturday Design Team! There are prizes hidden along the Blog Hop, so leave a comment at each stop on the Hop to maximize your chances of winning!

For the challenge you can use any past sketch between #211 and 315; so for my project I’ve used Sketch #222 as the bases for my creation.  Check it out…

Here are the stamps that I’ve used on this card, all from Little Miss Muffet Stamps:

Check out what everyone else has created!!

Aleisha

I hope everyone had fun with the challenge this month to try out some creative color placement!  I’ve seen some brilliant ideas implemented and have really enjoyed the challenge.  😀  Coming in towards the end of the month, I have another one to add to the collection.  This is Aleisha from Make it Crafty colored with Prismacolor Pencils.

And for the transformation to take full effect on your eyes, here’s the original image as found in the Make it Crafty store HERE.  I added ears and extended the bows.  Then the nose, face and whiskers were colored as a fox, of course.  The rest of the image is as-is.

The background was colored with various greens to make it look like a blurry leafy background.  Did it work?  Not sure but I still like how it turned out.  😀  I doodled around the outside then placed her on a simple card.  Here’s the final card…

Lastly are is a picture of the hair details.  I tried to work on the highlights and shadows in the hair strands – and getting that using different colors instead of light and dark.  I have about 7 colors from black to yellow.

Skelekinz For You

This is Skelekinz For You available in rubber from Little Miss Muffet Stamps which I thought would make a great Mother’s day or sweetheart card.  I stamped him in black on Kraft cardstock then colored him with my pencils.  One of the many reasons I love to use rubber stamps because I can stamp them anywhere and on anything.  🙂

I kept the colors simple and the coloring minimal, trying to use the Kraft part of the light or midtone colors.  Then I drew around the edge with my pen to create a border.  I actually had something else on the card but really didn’t like it, so I covered it with decorative paper and then stamped a sentiment on top of that.  The heart I also colored in using the pencils as well as the chippie dragonfly embellishments.  Then I added some swirls and called it done!

A Beary Good Year

It’s Tuesday and that means a new challenge has started at The Cat’s Pajamas but I have no idea what it is at the moment.  I’ve created this card a couple weeks ago and have been excited to share it in their challenge but the theme, or color scheme never fit.  Does that ever happen to you?  It’s frustrating sometimes. LOL   But oh’well, I’ve decided that come blue skies or high water, I’m going to post it on Tuesday and enter it into the challenge just to share.  So enjoy!  😀

The image I used is A Beary Good Year from The Cat’s Pajamas.

Ribbon Tilda

I’m giving this another go and wanted to enter the Totally Tilda challenge this week which is to add wings.  I decided I’d be a little creative when it mentioned “or you could have a go at stamping them, or simply drawing them in.”  Sounds like this is a job for “Creative Color Placement!”  For my base image, I used Ribbon Tilda (aka Ribbon with Heartstrings).  I colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and drew in the wings behind Tilda.  Then started coloring the rest, giving her red skin and a few extra features.

Here’s the original Magnolia stamp, Ribbon Tilda from the Sweet Christmas Dreams 2011 release.

I colored in horns with piercings, more hair, ears and a face, wings (of course), and a tail.  I started with a crocodile face but with the wings she turned into more of a gargoyle or Hell Boy (er… Hell Girl) so I completed the ensemble with the tail and red skin.
