OA – Fuzzy Wuzzy – Amelia

I’m excited to share with you this winter project that I made with a Greeting Farm set.  This is Amelia from the Fuzzy Wuzzy set and was a “must” on my list . . . well, that’s according to my daughter.  Since she shares the same name, she insisted and wouldn’t let me pick another.  LOL. Of course, I was happy to oblige!

It was easy to decide to go for a winter theme but the colors I picked out originally were brown, red and green.  At last minute I changed plans and grabbed some blue and gray colored papers from the Oh, Deer paper pad from Fancy Pants. It’s not one of my favorite paper pads but I’ve managed to get a few good combinations from it.

My favorite thing to color are faces and this one was on exception.  First I stamped her in gray then I could color the eyes a little bigger than what’s on the stamp.  I also defined the nose and mouth a little more.  There was a point the markers were gunking up, which started to freak me out.  However, this time I tried the Blender marker then followed up with E0000.  It seemed to do the trick but then I knew I was finished and couldn’t really do anymore for fear of it getting gunky again.

Elephant Story

There’s always something that can be added through creative color placement that it’s hard to resist.  The image I used on this card was Elephant Story by My Favorite Things.  At least I think that’s what it’s called as I can’t find it online anywhere now days.  I colored in glasses and gave the elephant larger eyes.

After I colored the image, I also colored the frame.  I started with the darkest color and added grain lines.  Then I added some more with a medium tone brown and finally colored it with a light brown.

The dream sentiment is a portion of the Over the Rainbow chipboard sentiment from Make it Crafty.  I’ll be using the top half on another project.  For this piece, I colored it pink with a Copic marker then glued on some pink and red micro beads.

Jr. Hatter Kimberly

Head on over to Little Miss Muffet Stamps for an Anything Goes challenge!  This is your chance to show any kind of project you’re creating this week.  :D.  I’ve created this card using Jr. Hatter Kimberly.  The Jr. Hatters all have smiling faces with closed eyes but I used some creative color placement and opened up her big brown eyes.  This can be done with all the Jr. Hatters, which is why I like to color them that way.  Oh yeah!

Cheeky Cherry Pie

I am so excited to be on the farm as a guest this month and want to send out a huge thank you to Rosemary and Marie at The Greeting Farm!  I’ve been meaning to get out my TGF collection of rubber stamps for a while and have actually had a few on the side of my desk calling out to me.  So I am super excited to actually ink them up and add some color.  Oh yeah!

This is Cheeky Cherry Pie from The Greeting Farm and I thought she would be a perfect November project with her yummy baked pie.  I wanted a harvest theme so I chose papers from We R Memory Keeper that had a good color autumn theme.  However, I didn’t want everything to be browns and yellows so I added some green for a splash of color. And what color of hair goes best with green?  Well, red hair of course!

I cut one of the paper sheets down for the frame she is in.  That took a little finesse but I think it was worth the outcome.  Then I stamped and colored the Knife and Fork stamp (from Magnolia) for her to sit on.  The leaf embellishments were fun to created too – I used a leaf punch and colored them with Copic markers to match.  I punched them in the same paper I used to color Cheeky Cherry Pie so the coloring blinded well.

Mystic Unicorn

Do you ever have one of those projects that just doesn’t come out right?  This is definitely one of those projects for me.  I usually color the image after I have selected the paper.  When I do, the project turns out better and when I don’t, well, it looks like this.  I guess there isn’t anything horribly warning but the colors work for me.  Maybe that’s just me.

I colored this Mystic Unicorn, by Whimsy, a while ago.  In fact, I colored two at the same time, one black and one white, because I couldn’t figure out which I wanted to use on my journal page.  (You can see the other Mystic Unicorn HERE.)  You can spend more time looking at that one, in my opinion, and just pass this one by.  Move along . . . nothing to see!

Linking Train Halloween

Happy Halloween!  I had to squeeze in one more Halloween project this year and enjoyed this one.  I merged Linking Train Halloween with Linking Train Halloween Cars and Voodoo Heartache to create this scene.

I had fun with the embellishments on this one.  My favorite are the spiders.  I’ve used the spider punch several times and added dots for eyes but this time I added the gem on the back.  It turned out to look more like a real spider – even though they are orange.  They’re so cute (well, at least I think they are) that I included a larger photo below.  Don’t get spooked!  LOL
