Bizzy Bee from Whimsy Stamps

Here are the results of the guessing contest on Facebook – I asked if you could guess how many Whimsy Stamps products I used on this card. Are you ready for the answer? Read on – but first, thank you to everyone who participated and had a little fun with me.

The winner of the prize was randomly selected from those that guessed correctly.
And that winner is… Joy Wilson
Congratulations!! Contact me with your mailing address and I’ll be sending you this card plus an additional Whimsy product hidden inside. 😀

Here’s the answer: There were 10, yes 10! How does that count up?

The obvious ones were: Bizzy Bees, Connected Hearts Frame, Quilted Rainbow Inlaid, Honeycomb Drips and the Comic Speech Bubbled.

The tricky ones were: Polka Dot Pals Faces, Mirror Image and Stitched Border Trio.

But the hard to spot ones were: Crafty Foam Tape – White and the 3D Foam Squares – White.

Bee Hive and Polka Dot Pals Faces from Whimsy Stamps

Here’s the results of the LIVE coloring session today – I enjoyed coloring the Bee Hive by DoveArt from Whimsy Stamps and then personalizing it with a face from Polka Dot Pals Faces. I also added the crown on the hive and thought that was cute message. Then for the sentiment, I used “bedazzling” from the Fill a Truck set and stamping that to say “bee-dazzling” for the theme.

The background was created on the fly (ha ha ha) and I added some extra flower and grass details in the foreground. Then I added some dimension with more flowers and Nuvo drops.

There are more coloring sessions available and I have a new sign up process – you’ll see thumbnails and details all on one page. Come check it out HERE.

Polka Dot Pals Faces from Whimsy Stamps

Today I have something different to share … but kinda the same! For this project, I wanted to combine the Polka Dot Pals Faces and a non-character stamp so I chose the Tall Cactus, both from Whimsy Stamps. I started by inking up the Tall Cactus with brown and green ink; I didn’t ink the center of the pot because that’s where the face was going to go.

I colored the face and the pot first and especially wanted to contort the face through coloring so I added a lot of lines and definition. Then I colored the cacti, adding more at the bottom for hair, and then added some flowers. Finally I was able to get to the background and I had a lot of fun with that.

Fill-a Wheel Barrel from Whimsy Stamps

I finally got around to coloring the Fill a Wheel Barrel set from Whimsy Stamps and loved it! This is what I colored in the free coloring session yesterday. I got some direction on what elements to add and this was the end result.

You can sign up for more free coloring session as well as paid coloring session/classes HERE. The free coloring sessions are about visiting and everyone colors their own thing (or doesn’t color at all). It’s a great way to get to know everyone. The paid coloring session/classes are instructional based where I teach how to color that scene and the techniques that I use. Those sessions are recorded and you can re-watch them on YouTube whenever you’d like.

I got input from the room and stared with the Fill a Wheel Barrel and then we picked a filler from Fill a Truck. I stamped them in a no-lines ink color and didn’t worry about masking. I also stamped the watermelon vine off to the side. After coloring those items and the green of the ground, I moved on to the background. Someone mentioned adding a fence of some type so that reminded me of the fence from Polka Dot Pals Fern which worked perfectly. Then I colored that, sky then the shrubs and finally added the sentiment from Polka Dot Pals Kezia. It couldn’t have been a better fit.

Polka Dot Pals Delia from Whimsy Stamps

School is almost out and I can’t wait for the summer! Here’s a project I did for Kim Styles Cards who was looking for a background to color with Polka Dot Pals Delia from Whimsy Stamps. School reminds me of chalkboards, lots of books and school lockers. Emma did an amazing job with lockers so I chose to go with the chalkboards. (You can see Emma’s sample in the store.) And if you’re looking for one with books, here’s one I did with another school background.

I began with stamping Polka Dot Pals Delia and then off to the side I added the apples, earth and the ferret which are accessory stamps from Polka Dot Pals Eileen. I used one of the faces from the Polka Dot Pals Faces set.

Then when I colored, I blocked in a rectangle for the chalkboard and colored that green. The desk is a little tricky with perspective because I put it on an angle but you could easily put it straight. Then all that was left was the color the floor and everything else was the background wall.

Hare Bear Friends from Whimsy Stamps

Here’s the results of our coloring session this even – it’s a little bit different, but kinda the same. This is Hare Bear Friends from Whimsy Stamps. Depending on the size of the animals and placement on the paper, each person’s den will look different. On my project here, compared to my original one, the den is much larger because I printed the characters larger. I also added snow because we had extra time and I wanted to see how that would look. Thanks to everyone who signed up for the session and supporting my new ventures!
