Ups & Downs Elephants

Here’s one of the card I made using the Tin Games – Ups & Downs from Whimsy Stamps. I love these little elephants and these two can be used for so many different themes. Here I was using them as a friendly hello card. I’ve been wanting to color some Baobab trees for a while so this was my chance. I mixed up happy and fun (with polka dot purple elephants and blue plaid ones too) with the realism of life in the background. It was a fun card to color.

To create this card, of course the elephants from the Tin Games – Ups & Downs take up the center stage but I also used other Whimsy Stamps products which I thought made this a perfect card to send to a friend in the mail. The card base was created using the Extreme Postage die set and another square layer of white that I colored with a brown Copic marker. Then for the sentiment, I used the Best Friend Word die set.

Ups & Downs Tin Games

Life is full of ups and downs but this little tin game adds some a bit of fun to it. Introducing the Tin Games – Ups & Downs from Whimsy Stamps. This little game is based off the classic children’s game of Chutes and Ladders – land on a ladder and you can climb forward or land on a slide and you’ll fall backwards. All you need is a small tin (you know, like the Altoids mints), a small die and two playing pieces. But the game is not all this set is fun for! You’ll see other projects this week with this same set – they’re adorable!

To create this card, I used the Tin Games – Ups & Downs and colored the game for the inside of the tin. Then I also used the same set to decorate the outside using the sitting elephant. I colored the background with simple greens and blues to create the scene. Then I used the Bold ABC dies and AlFaDoodles Alphabet stamps to create the sentiment PLAY. Lastly, I mimicked the doodles for around the scene to complete the look.

Animal Tiles Across the Pond from Whimsy Stamps

How about some birthday cards using the Animal Tiles – Across the Pond? I wanted to go for a sweet and simple card so I only used two of the tiles. Then for the sentiments, I pulled in the Make a Wish Clear Stamps with coordinating dies, all from Whimsy Stamps. I thought those tiles would be the star of the show, but for me, it’s the Mylar balloons that steels the show. With a little patience, it was just a matter of using a Google reference photos – after all, there a a gazillion numbered Mylar balloons out there.

Behind the Animal Tiles – Across the Pond, I used a stamp from the Doodle Frames set. Those stars and fireworks are accessory stamps from the Make a Wish Clear Stamps so it was nice to have those already handy to use. Even though this is done on a kraft card stock, I think the colors make it bright enough for a cheery birthday card. Would you agree?

On a Roll from Whimsy Stamps

I’m excited to share a new release from Whimsy Stamps featuring Dustin Pike’s fun animal characters. This is On a Roll and I colored two of the three animals from the set – so all together you have the giraffe, flamingo and panda. I was also able to use a great combination of tools to create this card including the Awesome Large Word die and Twinkle stencil. To try and keep the card simple, I layered it on a card front with a colored layer in-between. I think these two look like they’re having so much fun and I wish I was following them on my bike. 😉

Mason Atlas Jar Die from Whimsy Stamps

I was looking for something to do with the small Mason Atlas Jar Die and came up with this quick shaker cared. To start with, I was inspired by the Sprinkletz Firecrackers shaker elements and knew I could use those in the jar. So I stamped up the Atlas Jar twice and cut them out – once with the window and once without. I also stamped the key and then cut it out after I colored it.

The sentiment was created using the SMILING word from Polka Dot Pals Faces and then the BIG from the Big Hugs Word Die set. The rest of the card was straight forward with layers of paper and foam dots. This was quick and simple with minimal coloring. Happy 4th of July!

Animal Tiles Across the Pond from Whimsy Stamps

Duck, duck, goose! I wanted to create this card using the duck from the new set Animal Tiles – Across the Pond from Whimsy Stamps. I repeated it three times then colored two as ducks and the third as a goose. Then I chose two sentiments from amongst the Polka Dot Pals stamps and created this scene. This reminded me of the Ugly Duckling story as well so without actually having a swan, I thought it was still a great message to be different and uniquely you.

The rest of the card was created with stencils. I used the Sun Rays Stencil in yellow then for the water, I used a cloud stencil and three different blues. Then the final touches was to layer it on the card front and add glue on the half-circle embellishments. This was a quick card for me and I really liked how I only needed one animal stamp to use.
