Reindeer games

All the reindeer from the newest set (Reindeer Games Jingle All the Way) have come out to play! I wanted to get all four on the same card and thought of this design with the Slimline Film Strip die. I used a little color outside of the reindeer to help create the scene but hoped it didn’t take away the focal point of those four adorable reindeer. I don’t think it did and I loved how it turned out.

‘Tis the season

For the reindeer to come out and play! This is the fourth reindeer from the Reindeer Games Jingle All the Way set and I also used a word from the Merry and Bright Word and Shadow die. I wanted to go for a warm feel even though it was a winter scene and I wasn’t sure how I was going to accomplish that. I started with the wording and colored it yellow. For the wording shadow I was going to go with black and I’m glad I didn’t – instead I pulled in some colors from the reindeer to tie it in. I think that’s what did the trick, or at least, this scene feels more warm to me.

Tasting Snowflakes

From the Reindeer Games Jingle All the Way set, today I chose to use the one that is jumping to taste snowflakes. This one reminds me of Pinkie Pie and how she hops around everywhere which brings a smile to my face. I used a bunch of other dies to make this scene and kept them all white except for the sentiment. For the sentiment, I used just the first word of Merry and Bright Word and Shadow die. With this little amount of coloring, I think the background is what really pulls it all together – that is a sheet from Blurry Flurries 6×6 paper pack. However, the funnest part of this is the reindeer! I put this one on a Wobble so it will spring into action (see photo below). I think these reindeer are a must have to every collection. 😉

Jingle all the Way

Let’s jingle all the way with this new reindeer set called Reindeer Games Jingle All the Way. That’s easy to remember. This little deer is having fun prancing in the forest with the freshly fallen snow – and keeping their feet warm at the same time with a mismatch of holiday socks. That’s how she’ rolls! It’s been fun to change gears and jump into winter cards.

Merry little reindeer

I’ve been waiting for these adorable reindeer in their cute little socks to be released and today is the day I can finally color them. This set is called Reindeer Games Jingle All the Way and there are four different reindeer images. I choose this one and used the new sentiment Merry and Bright Word and Shadow die. At first I was going to use a traditional red and green vibe but when choosing the background, I couldn’t resist the soft blue. I don’t normally use these colors together but I think it worked out this time. If you haven’t started on your holiday cards – then giddy up!

Colton poses as Bob Ross

RU Magnificent? Oh wait, I made a mistake… let me correct that. Got it! UR Magnificent!! Amazing how just transposing two letters completely changes the context – good thing it was an easy mistake to fix. LOL This is Polka Dot Pals Colton and instead of coloring his baseball cap, I decided I was going to color an Afro and convert him into Bob Ross. This was such a fun project and just as fun as when I colored Frida Kahlo.

This was one of the projects we talked about and worked on during the Sproatmeyer Coloring Toolbox Retreat. Everyone created their own unique hair style then we colored the rest of the image together. Thinking outside of the box is one of those things I like to challenge you to do and you’ll learn so much from it. It’s a hate-love thing… first you’ll hate it but by time you finish your project you end up loving it! Check out the Coloring Toolbox Retreat dates for next year and come join me.
