Animal Tiles – Into the Woods

A new tiles set has been released and this one has a woodland theme. This is Animal Tiles – Into the Woods from Whimsy Stamps and I think it’s my favorite so far. These cute animals are great on their own but I chose to use them all together and fill up the card.

You’ve probably spotted them all already – the Animal Tiles – Into the Woods set includes a squirrel, hedgehog (or porcupine), mushrooms, bear, wolf, beaver, tree stump and a skunk. What’s your favorite? I love the bear and squirrel but the rest of them come in at a close second. The cuties are easy to color too and if you are looking for gift ideas – you can make tick-tack-toe or a game of memory.

Polka Dot Pals Kezia

I’m joining the 31 Nights of Halloween on the Whimsy Stamps blog and for my project I chose to use Polka Dot Pals Kezia – and I created not one, but two projects with her. Whoop! For this project, I chose to keep it simple and just use Halloween colors to color her. This was also a great chance to color purple hair. 😀 To see my other project with an even more Halloween flair, check out my post HERE for Night 3 of the 31 Nights of Halloween.

Polka Dot Pals Kezia is an adorable and versatile stamp set. If you don’t have her in your collection already, I suggest you add her today. She comes with a cute little dog and other accessories that can be used in the background or on their own – such as an ice cream truck and an ice cream cone to put on top of that. Very fun!

Oops! Sorry from Whimsy Stamps

I’m so sorry! Sometimes that happens beyond my control but I feel terrible that I caused that. Would you forgive me? Hopefully this card says all of that. I’ve used the accessory stamp from the “Tin Games – Oops! Sorry” set from Whimsy Stamps. Newly released! Then I combined it with a bucket load of other products to get some good use out of my stash. These are basics that I reuse often!

The base of the card was created with the Wonky Window 4 die to create a shaker card. This is a fun die and I was eager to fill in the three different spaces. I was able to use some of the many Sparkletz and Sprinkletz embellishments that I have in my stash. In the top window, I used the Up in the Clouds set and foam dots to create a 3D texture. This is an amazing die and I think a must have. I’m not sure why I didn’t splurge on it before but I’m so glad I did!
The center and lower panels were created into a shaker. In the center panel, I used the grass die from the No-See All Seasons Tree die as a stencil and then on top for dimension. On top of that, I positioned the tipped tulips from the Tin Games – Oops! Sorry set. Then in the lower panel, I stamped and colored the Dainty Daisies Background rubber stamp and place the Big Hugs Word die for the sentiment on top.

Oops! Sorry from Whimsy Stamps

For this project today, I wanted to use one of the accessory stamps from the “Tin Games – Oops! Sorry” set from Whimsy Stamps. This one is the ice cream cone that has fallen over and started to melt. I thought it would be fun to continue the melting theme down through the sentiment and to the bottom of the card. Some days are just this type of day! I cam image this would be a perfect sorry card for a kid… or even a kid at heart.

To frame the set, I used the Get in Line border stamps to create borders around the edges. I didn’t want them orderly and straight so I angled them slightly different each time I stamped them. I chose to keep the card simple and mounted it on a card base. This one is good to go in the mail – nice and flat.

Tin Games – Oops! Sorry

Did you see the tin I bought and was looking for an idea? Here’s what I came up with. I used the new “Tin Games – Oops! Sorry” set from Whimsy Stamps and made a celebration and game all in one. Once the confetti is gone and the party blowers are past annoyance, the game will live on. LOL

The tin already came as a kit with the celebration theme (with the confetti, party blowers and booklet) so I all I added was the game board, two playing pieces and a small die. It fit in there nicely and will be a nice gift.
Here’s a closer look at the game – I colored it using as few colors as possible and saving any of the red and orange colors for player direction. So that includes the house, arrows and circle marks for swapping pieces. Then the rest I tried to color with more neutral colors or at least colors that didn’t overpower the orange and reds. After coloring, I cut it out and glued it to the bottom.

The outside was kept simple. I cut out the shapes of the playing pieces and added a little tag at the bottom. So that way they know the tin also includes something extra! 😉

(Elephant from) Ups & Downs Tin Game

Welcome back!! Or at lease welcome back to me. The school season will be starting so that means summer play is over and I’ll have more time at my crafting desk. Today I’m sharing a simple card I made using one of the elephants from the Tin Games – Ups & Downs from Whimsy Stamps. I also used the sentiment from that stamp so this would be a nice card to send to someone who is having a hard time – because life is full of ups and downs.

I kept the colors simple and monopolizing on the gray tones for a sympathy vibe. Then I added just a little color with the greens and yellow. The card was created using a base layer plus a layer in between – that layer was colored with Copic markers in the same color as the elephant. This makes for a simple card using minimal supplies.
