Have fun and be free

There’s a new release at Whimsy Stamps today and I enjoyed making this card to showcase some of those products. I fist took the laughing elephant from the Elephantastic Elephants clear set then paired it with the new background and sentiment stamps. And if you’ve noticed I used one of my favorite pairings on the dies that frame it all. This little elephant is one of my favorites and is really fun to color. This time around, I went with a simple gray color but then really focused on the highlights of her tummy, face, hands and such. She makes me giggle. … oh and before I go, I must say that I love the new Whimsy Blending Brushes!

Balloons make me happy

They really do make me happy. They seem to be always used at celebrations or at times that we need cheering up. There must be a science between balloons, happiness, appreciation and love. If you find an article about it then send it my way. Nevertheless, I enjoyed using the Party Animal Balloons clear set to create this card. I went with pastel colors and a soft green background. With the sentiment I chose, I think this is versatile enough that I can use it for almost any occasion.

A sweet 3rd attempt

I’m excited to showcase my 3rd attempt at coloring Polka Dot Pals Iona‘s hair. When I set out, I had the idea that I wanted to color detailed hair and make it look like Merida from the movie Brave. I thought having individual strands and super curly hair would be quiet the challenge and it was. I wasn’t able to accomplish exactly what I wanted but this was as close as I could get.

Hello there!

This card was initiated from a hair challenge. When I drew this image, I had Pinkie Pie in mind from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. I love that show! Anyway, I drew the girl’s hair not considering how it could be colored and since Pinkie’s hair is a bit wild, I realized it would take a bit of a wild marker to color it. LOL This was my first attempt at coloring the hair. I wanted it to look like she had big curls so I followed the outside hair shape as well as the inside hair shape to create the bumps. The rest of the card was fun to color and create – and since the image was inspired by MLP Friendship is Magic – I decided to go with a friendly hello.

Got some tools I can borrow?

Looking for a Father’s Day card or one to send to your handyman or hubby for a job-well-done? I think this is the perfect combination with the Fill a Stuff Jam Packed clear set nestled in the Fill a Holiday Truck clear set – there’s even a spot on the sign to add a name. The truck is by far my favorite part because it reminds me of my Grandpa’s truck – although this one looks in better shape. However, I was surprised at how well the wood paper worked with this card.

Like peanut butter and jam

Have you noticed my card layout for the last three days? Each of them use the Extreme Postage die set along with the Wonky Stitched Rectangles die set to create the base. I love this combination and it reminds me of postage stamps, hand writing letters and post cards. It’s such a nice feeling to me. So for this card I chose to use the same combo and created this cute thank you card using the Party Animal Balloons clear set. I thought this would make an excellent card to send out for a gift thankfully received. This layout could also be done with a birthday sentiment instead of the thank you – just swap the words for something that works for you.
