Seas the day

When I drew the Ocean Tiles Seas the Day clear set, I knew I wanted to play around with that little tug boat. After all, it’s the one that saves the day for all the other boats, right?! So I create this card using just that little tike and had it pulling the sentiment through the water. Seas the day, it says! I enjoyed using the Curly Q’s Background to create moving water and the Extreme Postage die to give this a traveling exotic feel. This is one of my favorite cards this week.

I miss you

Does your world get a little bit gray when your loved one is away? I wanted to try and caption that feeling with this card so I colored the flowers in monochrome black and white then added just a few details of Red to draw in your attention. Have you been drawn in yet and looking at those red areas? Well now the surprise happens when you pull the tab around in a circle to reveal your inner thoughts – and the flower turns from a melancholy gray to a vibrant purple and blue! Our loved ones color our world more than we know. This set uses the new Magic Wheel die set in combination with the Good Luck Flowers clear set as the main focal points.

Let’s celebrate

Get’yer truck, pack it up and let’s go party! I enjoyed this combination of using the Fill a Holiday Truck with the presents inside from the coordinating Fill a Stuff Jam Packed clear set. This card layout and set can be used with any of the Jam Packed items which is something I love that about. I’m all about mixing and matching so these sets for me are extra fun. For this card, I went with a yellow and black theme with just a bit of red for a focus. I think this would be a great guy card – I really need more of those in my collection.

Shake y’er bootie

Shake, shake! It’s time to celebrate and if you haven’t noticed, I’m on a celebration and birthday card kick. Those are the types of cards that I send out the most so I’m always in need of one – especially any kind of boy card. This one was created using the other half of the Wonky Frame that I used two days ago. It’s always a nice feeling when I can use the scraps and leftovers from a project to create something new. (And it helps keep the desk just a little bit cleaner.) I don’t think I’m the only one who does this. Do you have a pile of scraps on your desk that you use up?

Let’s party!

Let’s get this party started! Here’s another card using the new Chippy Paint Background stamp and those cute awesome balloon animals. I have my Party Animal Balloons coordinating die this time and let me tell you that was a lifesaver! I also paired these elements with items from my stash and ended up with a bright fun celebration card. These animals balloons are a must have – super simple to color and the cards I’ve been making with them have been quick and easy. You’ll certainly see a lot more of them from me in the future!

Be wild at heart

I have another cute elephant to share! For this card, I basically used the same supplies as the card yesterday with only a few changes but ended up with a completely different looking card. A lot of that has to do with the colors but also the layout contributes to that. At first I didn’t like the colors – what do you think? But then I added some heavy black and some black accents around the words which I think helped brighten it up. Isn’t that weird – to add black which brightens it? I thought so. This one is certainly out of my comfort zone but in the end I like how it turned out.
