Pig Grooving

I have drawn another pig and it is now available at Sproatmeyer Stamps – this is Pig Grooving! This little piggy found an iPod out in the field and couldn’t resist grooving to some new tunes. I drew the music bars all around to give it a sense that the pig is all encompassed in the music. I think she’s adorable and so happy!

The card was created with a simple layout using metal die frames. One of these days I’ll diversify but at the moment, I’m focusing on the coloring rather than card making. Do you think it detracts from the creativity?

Happy Belated Goat

I love goats and their playful energy and curious personalities. Especially baby goats which always makes me smile. This stamp is Happy Belated Goat and I added some balloons to give it a festive feel. It will be a good one to have on hand for a belated celebrations – because we all need one once in a while. But without a sentiment, I can pull it out for any occasion too!

I especially like the colors on this card. They’re bright without being overwhelming, and they really bring the design to life. Altogether, it’s a cheerful, lighthearted piece that feels joyful and a little quirky—just like goats themselves.

I used metal dies from Whimsy Stamps to create this card. Oh… and new stamps will be released soon at Sproatmeyer Stamps so keep an eye out for that to happen.

Skunk with Daffodil

I’ve been spending some time lately playing with a new image I drew using the Skunk with Daffodil stamp from Sproatmeyer Stamps, and it has quickly become one of my favorites. There’s something so charming about a skunk paired with a bright spring flower. It feels a little whimsical and a little unexpected, which is exactly the kind of contrast I love to explore in my artwork.

This image was a joy to color and a great reminder of how much personality can come from a simple palette and a playful design. Sometimes sticking to just a few colors makes the finished piece feel more intentional and cohesive. As for me, my favorite colors tend to be teal, forest green, and soft gray, especially when they’re paired with strong black-and-white elements. What are your favorite colors?

Metal dies from Whimsy Stamps was used to create the card. At Sproatmeyer Stamps, add all three skunks to your cart and get Skunk Love for free! The third skunk is Sky Skunk.

Love Birds

These little Love Birds couldn’t help but steal my heart today. I colored them in classic Valentine hues—soft pinks, warm reds, and sweet touches of romance—then added a trailing green vine to give the whole scene a fresh pop of life. Something about that extra green makes the love feel like it’s growing.

This project features the Love Birds from Sproatmeyer Stamps paired with metal dies from Whimsy Stamps, and they were such a joy to work with. Do you prefer sticking to traditional Valentine colors, or do you like adding unexpected pops of color to your projects?

Duck with Balloon

Today’s card features the Duck with Balloon from Sproatmeyer Stamps. I stamped the image, colored it in, and kept the overall design simple and the same framing I’ve done on all my cards recently. For the sentiment, I chose “Smile”, which fits the image without taking attention away from it and balances the focal point. I used metal dies from Whimsy Stamps to create a laying with stitching details..

I like how the colors turned out on this card—they’re bright without being overdone and work well with the simple design. I have this image colored again but I think it’s terrible. I’ll have to work up the courage to show the 3rd one – but at a later date. Until then…

Thanks for stopping by.

Unicorn Rearing

Today’s card features the Unicorn Rearing digital stamp, and this time I decided to change things up a bit. Instead of the rainbow palette I used last time, I colored this beauty in more traditional horse tones. I love how the softer, realistic colors give the image a completely different feel while still keeping that magical unicorn charm.

The Unicorn Rearing digital stamp is available from Sproatmeyer Stamps and is currently offered at an introductory discount—perfect if you’ve had your eye on it! To finish the card, I paired the image with metal dies from Whimsy Stamps, which added just the right amount of detail and elegance to the overall design.

It’s always fun to revisit the same image with a new color scheme and see how it transforms the final project. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope this inspires you to try something different with your coloring too!
