A Beary Good Year

It’s Tuesday and that means a new challenge has started at The Cat’s Pajamas but I have no idea what it is at the moment.  I’ve created this card a couple weeks ago and have been excited to share it in their challenge but the theme, or color scheme never fit.  Does that ever happen to you?  It’s frustrating sometimes. LOL   But oh’well, I’ve decided that come blue skies or high water, I’m going to post it on Tuesday and enter it into the challenge just to share.  So enjoy!  😀

The image I used is A Beary Good Year from The Cat’s Pajamas.
I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:
The Cat’s Pajamas Challenge – Anything Goes
(How lucky could I have gotten?!)

Healing the Dragon

Is a dragon an animal?!  I hope so.  This card has been sitting in draft mode and I just can’t wait any longer.  LOL  The challenge at The Paper Shelter is “Animal Magic” and I’m going to submit this entry.  The image(s) on this project is called Healing the Dragon by The Paper Shelter which is actually four individual stamps merged together. But I liked how they all came together in this scene and colored it as is.

With an image like this, there are always areas I wish I had colored a little differently.  This one for example, is the liquid medicine.  Instead of coloring something that looks like blood, I wish it was purple like the spoon, and the spoon, any other color.  However, maybe dragons drink blood to feel better?  Who knows!

I hope you’re all have a great weekend!

Cheers Kaylee and Tropical Mae

Click, click, click – testing, 1, 2, 3.  It works!!  😀  I can’t tell you how I felt when I found my laptop computer in shambles with keys missing and parts spewn all over the floor!  I’m usually not one to be surprised by anything but this time I actually gasped in such an alarm that all the kids came running to see if I was ok!  LOL But the good news is after I initiated “quiet time” and spent some effort tinkering that I was able to get it all back togehter.  Phew… ok so on to todays cards… tada!

These two cuties are new from Some Odd girl and are part of the new digi releases this week!  These two cuties are Tropical Mae and Cheers Kaylee and are available in the store right now.  Tropical Mae was previewed on the SOG Blog yesterday and today it’s time to show off Cheers Kaylee – so be sure to check out the rest of what the DT has created.  😀

These two cards were fun and quick to make – sometimes those are the best.  I grabbed the paper choices before coloring then just worked off the papers to select my markers.  I usually add some ribbon but skipped out by using scraps or the reverse side of the decorative paper to create the horizontal interest that I seem to be attached to – it just looks weird if I don’t include that on my cards so I guess you coudl call that my odd quirk for the day!

I used the same colors, papers and even the layout on both projects if you haven’t noticed already.  He he he.  In addition, the background stamps I used are the Chandelier from Stampavie and I still can’t find where the sentiment stamp is from… but somewhere as I’m sure it’s not that old.  LOL

That pretty much wraps this up and I hope you’ve enjoyed the card for today.  Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great mid-week.  😀

Diane & Cardine

Hello, hello, hello!  I should be in bed getting my beauty sleep for tomorrow’s long drive, however, I couldn’t resit taking a moment to show off some new stamps I added to Little Miss Muffet Stamps!!!  There are 17 new images that will be previewed today and tomorrow plus some very exciting news – head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Challenge & Release Blog to catch up on all the details!

For this project I used Diane from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and the sentiment is from Stampabilities; and we’re also showing off more samples using the Park Glen Door Diecut from Little Miss Muffet Stamps!  I chose to use the screen mesh that comes with the die on this project.  I went crazy with the diecuts and also forced myself to use the blue paper on my desk!

This next project is actually one my daughter made and uses the new fairie, Cadrian, also from Little Miss Muffet Stamps!  She was so proud of her creation today and even decorated the inside full of gems, stickers and a sweat little note to Grandma and Grandpa.  😀  Everytime she makes something she always asks if it’s as pretty as mine then she’ll put it up next to may latest creation and compare the two – today, she FINALLY said it was just as cute!!  LOL

So what’s all this exciting news I hinted towards?  Well, I’m excited to say that Paula from Pollycraft will now be drawing images for Little Miss Muffet Stamps!!  Whohoo!!  I selected a few of my favorite characters to start with and tomorrow we’ll be previewing them all – plus there are TWO NEW stamps that you don’t want to miss out on.  😀  I made a card with one of the new ones and will show it off tomorow.  Until, hope you have a great day!

Le Parfum des Roses

Are you ready for something different?! This was my last card that I made this week and I’m skipping out for the weekend too so unfortunately no more coloring until next week. But with the card marathon I just endured I’m actually looking forward to a small break. LOL

This little cute is Le Parfum des Roses by Little Miss Muffet Stamps and is one ofthe first rubber stamps I released too. 😀 I had fun coloring this gal’s dress and even took the large stripe pattern from the decorative paper and used it on the lower layers. I wasn’t sure if it would work out but now that I see it finished I think it looks ok.

If I can say, this image is my favorite from the Petites Dames theme although they are all fun to color! I had fun putting this card together and it was nice to only have to make one of something. If you can beleive it was difficult – I shifted and moved around so many peices that I’m surpised I finished. LOL

I hope you’ve enjoyed it and have a great weekend! Although, words of wisdom to part with… don’t drop andy droplets of Copic refill ink on your laptop because it doesn’t come off! He he he

Queens Cutie

I have another Urban Scene to show of today for the Whimsy Stamps & Make it Crafty joint release blog hop! After all, another journal page is so much better to land upon than a colorless paper test. LOL This one was also inspired by many of those on the blog hop and I had to try out some of the new ideas I saw along the way!

The basic inspiration for my project came from Vicky as I was totally intrigued by the way she used the chain link fence and the city skyline sentiment – I loved that and such a brilliant idea! I merged the images together using layers and used gradation to go from the black sentiment down to the white ground. (Which by the way, I discovered the chain link fence can be merged so tightly together which is so smooth!) I figured merging the image might save me from coloring behind the fence… however, I ended up doing that for the sky anyway. C’est la vie!

For my project I used Kenny K’s Queens Cutie, Cityscape Saying from Whimsy Stamps and elements from the Urban Street Collection from Make it Crafty. When I color a Kenny K image the first thing I do is Google Annika‘s blog to look for inspiration and I’m so glad she had this one colored too. I love the brown colors she used but felt in the mood to use other colors – after all, I can’t copy her 100% all the time, right?

I colored the bench with inspiration from Zoe and Marlene‘s projects and I liked how they made it look like a wood bench instead of concrete… and because most city things are green (don’t know why) I chose to color a green city bench. ;D Unfortunately by time I got to the boom box I was plum tuckered and just wanted to get it finished – maybe later on I’ll color up another one and dimensional it on top of this one to cover it up. That’s my tip for the week! ;D
