Licorice

This little cutie is one of the new releases at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and you can check them all out over at the challenge blog. After coloring up a Red Riding Hood I was inspired todraw a girl with red apples – only now do I see that it could be a reference to Snow White. LOL

I used the N range of Copic colors to color the hair black as I had always used the W range before – I like how this turned out better as I think it has less of a gray look and more of a shiny black look which is what I wanted. But don’t those applies look yummy?!

The background is created with a diecut pack that I got at my local hobby store. I think it’s by K&Co but it included about dozen garden themed cut outs. The butterfly is from the same cutout but from the side I cut off the card – I thougt it make a nice subtle embellishment.

I’d like to enter into the following challenges:
Craft Us Crazy Challenge #11 (summer theme)
Clearly Inspired Challenge #31 (diecuts, cutouts)
Digi’s with Attitude Challenge #32 (anything goes)
Samuel Taylors Crafts July Challenge (summer theme)

Bailey

Welcome all to a day full of new releases at Little Miss Muffet Stamps! Head on over to the challenge blog to check out the design team’s awesome inspiration – they did a wonderful job. ;D But here I’ll show you three of the four and here’s my first one … Bailey!

This Little Miss was was inspired by several things currently around me but the main one being my five year old daughter. ;D She is so inquisitive lately and her hair is getting long and curly. Of course, I can glorify all those details in ink, of course. ;D

I made this a simple card to give focus to the image – mainly because I printed out the image larger than normal – just some gems, lace and faux stitching and Voilà! A card. ;D Hope you like it and stay tuned for a few more projects today.

I’d like to enter into the following challenges:
Stamp Something July Digi Days (use a digi)
Wags ‘n Whiskers Challenge #57 (summertime)
Crafty Catz Challenge #89 (colors of summer)
Charisma Cardz Challenge #26

Coriander

It’s the start of another challenge Little Miss Muffet Challenges and this time we’re digging into the warm colors! The theme this fortnight is “Reds, Oranges and Yellows” and we want to see your creation with all those colors.

I went with a summer theme, of course, and used Coriander on my project. I tried to use 100% warm colors but a just a tidbit of green found it’s way into my coloring. But somehow that splash of color works perfectly. ;D

As a side story, I had a dream, possibly a nightmare, that I went to a HOA meeting just out of curiosity but was somehow nominated to be on a board and before I walked out they had put me in as the president. Yikes… that’s a lot to take in but hopefully this card will wake me back up into a nice summer day in the backyard! LOL

Did you know? Garbage Pail Kids is a series of trading cards originally released in 1985 and designed to parody the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls which were immensely popular at the time. Each sticker card featured a Garbage Pail Kid character, with some comical abnormality and/or suffering some terrible fate, and a humorous, word play-rich character name, such as Glandular Angela. During the height of the card series popularity, Garbage Pail Kids were banned in many schools worldwide.

Update: I was a random winner at Bearly Mine for this challenge!

Adela and Dida

Are you ready for yet another card today? I want to introduce to you Adela the Fairy and her dog Dida which was released at Little Miss Muffet Stamps this week! She’s the first fairy that came through my imagination and hopefully there will be more on the way – but in the mean time, I hope you enjoy this card…

The image comes three ways, Adela & Dida, the flower, and then both images merged together in the way you see it here. This makes the image versatile and I love how the design team showcased her – check them out over at the Challenge & New Release blog.

I went all out on the embellishments which is the benefit to the larger 6″x6″ card sizes. I’ve almost used up all the black swirls that I have – although I love the shape and look of them, they’re hefty and so I use them sparingly. The stripped ribbon is a new addition to my stash and was fun to use for the first time.

Of course, I added some lasercut chipboards but this time I bent the wings on the butterflies so they were lifted off the page more; then I applied Petal Pink Liquid Pearls on the centers. I also used Liquid Pearls around the butterflies for an enchanted feel. The other chipboard embellishments were covered with a Pearl Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber.

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:

Did you know? Filigree is a delicate kind of jewelery metalwork made with twisted threads usually of gold and silver or stitching of the same curving motifs. It often suggests lace, and in recent centuries remains popular in Indian and other Asian metalwork, and French from 1660 to the late 19th century. It should not be confused with ajoure jewellery work; while both have many open areas, filigree involves threads being soldered together to form an object and ajoure involves holes being punched, drilled, or cut through an existing piece of metal.

Coriander

As the hottest months of summer approaches in the northern hemisphere our minds often turn to water and vacations at the beach. At least I wouldn’t mind a nice getaway at paradise beach with soft warm sand to run barefoot in. ;D This card features Coriander who can be playing in the sandbox in the backyard but for this card I’d like to think she’s living a dream on the perfect vacation!

The two images are Coriander, which was released today at Little Miss Muffet Stamps, and the background is Message in Bottle from Make it Crafty. I combined these images because I thought it was a fun story they told together – after all, wouldn’t a message in a bottle be quite the find!

I hope you enjoy this preview and that it inspires your “mini” vacation on a card. 😀 Come support me over at the Challenges & New Releases blog to see all the new releases this week and to play along in the challenge! You can use any stamp in the challenge, however, if you use a LMMS then the theme is always “Anything Goes” – I would love to see what you’re making with those images. ;D

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:
Amber’s Crafts and Stuff Challenge #14 (vacation)
PaperPlay Challenge Week 24 (at the beach)
Lollipop Crafts Challenge #41 (inspired by a song: The Go Go’s Vacation)

Did you know? Summer is the warmest of the four temperate seasons, between spring and autumn. At the summer solstice, the days are longest and the nights are shortest, with day-length decreasing as the season progresses after the solstice. The date of the beginning of summer varies according to climate, culture, and tradition, but when it is summer in the southern hemisphere it is winter in the northern hemisphere, and vice versa.
