Jr Hatter Lilith

For those who have been part of the Little Miss Muffet Stamps FaceBook group, know that there was a little competition put forth by Zoe (from Make it Crafty).  She challenged me (and everyone else) to color up Jr. Hatter Lilith using colored pencils.  For some, I’m sure that would be an easy task, but me, I have such a hard time with pencils that it truly was a challenge!  AND this is why Zoe picked it too!  LOL

The first thing I did was start by merging some images as I also wanted to include a background from Make it Crafty.  So on this project I’ve used Jr. Hatter Lilith and the Birds on a Wire Metal Die from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  The mushrooms and clouds are from the Whimsical Digi Elements from Make it Crafty.

The coloring was interesting and I received a lot of help in the LMMS FB group too.  I was worried about all the specks of white that couldn’t be filled in and in the end, we decided that it was my paper that was causing the problem.  I tried everything from sharp pencils (which helped), circular coloring (also helped) and some type of blending solution (which partially helped only in some ares).  Of course, the smoother the surface was the better too but with the paper I had it didn’t seem to matter what I was coloring on.

Anyway, this is the final result!  You can check out the LMMS FB group for more samples as there has been a lot of people participating and even a few more yet to come!!  They’re all fantastic and so inspiring!

Cozy Cafe

I’m excited to share one of the more popular stamps at Little Miss Muffet today for the Sunday Spotlight!  I love the Sunday Spotlight because it gives me a chance to work with a favorite stamp.  😀  Anyway, today we’re focusing on the Cozy Cafe and if you remember the last time I used this I combined it with Taylor.  (Click HERE to see that project!)  So today, I’ve chosen to use just the table and flowers.

I started with stamping the flowers then masking them with the same image stamped on a post-it note, cut out and placed on top of my original stamp.  Then I inked up the table, crossed my fingers and bit my tounge, then did the best I could to stamp the table and have the flowers aligned up.  It actually took me two tries!  LOL  Maybe cutting out the flowers would have been better but sometimes I like how the masking turns out much better.  So the flowers are perfectly center on the table, but I’m ok with that.  LOL

Here’s a close up of the colored image.  I went with the black and white theme with a splash of color that I had seen Faye use a while ago.  Her card looked awesome and so I was hoping it would work on this card as well.

This stamp includes five different images… chair, table and three different table toppers.  And remember, it’s only on sale for today only!  So click HERE to get it while you can!

Polka Dot Pals Toby

I’m a bit slow on putting this project together for the Friday Freebie but I finally finished it and still wanted to show off how fun the Confetti Background is!  This is what I had in mind for when I created it… giant streams of ribbon in the background.  LOL  But it’s also great scaled down for a background or all on it’s own like how Mette did.  Anyway, here’s what I made…

On this project I’ve used the Confetti Background, Polka Dot Pals Toby and the Party Banner Metal Die all from Little Miss Muffet Stamps. I actually colored the image first and knew I wanted to go with a superman cape which means I’d be using bright blues and reds… so naturally, the primary colors came to mind with a bit of green to tone it down.  I was lucky enough to find paper that matched!  Seriously lucky… since I don’t have a lot of bright papers around.

The the rest of the card was put together grabbing things from my desk… some tape-measure ribbon, a clasp, a ticket, and then finally some letter.  I had to hold my breath as I counted out the banners to make sure I had enough … and yep, it’s perfect!

Fancy Sunbonnet Christmas Stuff

Happy 4th of July everyone!  I can’t believe it’s already half way through the year and that my summer is nearly gone!  Gone!  Another blink and the kids will be back in school then the work will really have to start.  😦  You see, it’s easy to claim the kids take up all the time when they’re home playing with me but when they’re at school during the day that means I have more house cleaning, to dos and errands to run.  Oh well, I guess we better enjoy it while it lasts… maybe that’s the perfect reason to go miniature golfing today!!  Oh, yeah!

We have an awesome release today at Little Miss Muffet Stamps plus the start of Christmas in July!!  There are four fun images to start with so you can get start working on those holiday cards!  For my project, I’ve used Fancy Sunbonnet Christmas Stuff by Little Miss Muffet Stamps (of course) and drawn by Bugaboo.  These sunbonnet images bring back lots of memories for me as my Mom is a big Sunbonnet Sue and Calico Sam fan!  So even those I wanted to use EVERY image in the new release, I narrowed it down to this one.

The papers were sort of chosen at random – I kinda picked through the top of the Christmas Stash as I didn’t want to spend too much time sorting through the pile.  But I had some golden felt that went well with the paper tones and decided it was a good fit.  The rest is… well, coloring history.  LOL

I hope you’ve enjoyed this bit of inspiration and thanks for coming by today!  Make sure to visit the LMMS blog to see all the other awesome projects created and also the LMMS FB page for some rising fun this week!

Nixie Mermaid

When I was growing up, I often wished I could be a little mermaid swimming in the water and often thought if I stayed in the water long enough I would eventually turn into one!  LOL  Then as I’ve grown up, I had wondered if my own kids would feel the same way and I’m surprised to say I have someone on each end of the spectrum with one right in the middle.  He he he  It always ends up like that, doesn’t it?!  Just goes to show how different each child is!

For my project today I’ve used Nixie Mermaid from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and drawn by Simply Sophia.  Plus I also had the fish colored up from Serena Mermaid and added it to the bottom of the card – I thought it would go nicely with the summer-water theme.  😀

Fancy Sunbonnet Umbrella

Kinda looks “cloudy with a a chance of meatballs today.”  😀  My kids have recently read the book and now that the 2nd movie is on it’s way out, I think we’ll make it a movie night and see the first one.  Up until now, they’ve been scared to watch any new movie but we finally made it over that hurdle!  Yeah!  So the plan is to watch a few book-to-movie features.  Should be fun!

The image I used on this project is Fancy Sunbonnet Umbrella from Little Miss Muffet Stamps in rubber form and drawn by Bugaboo Stamps.  Using the rubber stamps is perfect for this type of project as I don’t have to worry about getting that kraft cardstock through my printer… which it doesn’t!  LOL  I colored this one with Copic markers and then drew in the border with a ruler and marker; and added some shading with T1 and T2.
