Who doesn’t like cupcakes and I thought a cute birthday card would be perfect! I was able to finally incorporated two cutting dies that I’ve had laying around, hearts and scallops.

This is just one of four images that are being released this week which were all inspired by the warm spring days around this area! It’s the perfect time to play outside in the backyard. Today starts a new challenge over at Little Miss Muffet Challenges and the Blog Candy winners are also announced over there today. The challenge this fortnight is tags or banners! I chose to add a Magnolia tag to my project along with Anise Soccer, a Sugar ‘n Spice Doll.

I found this cheery paper in my scraps pile so I don’t know where it came from. But it’s a high gloss double sided paper so I used both sides on the card. I love this fresh color scheme of pinks, oranges, blues and greens. I was even lucky enough to find matching Baker’s Twine! 😀

The button brads were made with an Imaginisce iTop Brad Maker – I used a punch to create the star-shaped circle then the tool to crimp the paper onto the brad. Two of the buttons use the background paper but the third one is actually the extra soccer ball that I colored with Anise! It was the perfect size for the small brad and I could resit seeing what a soccer-brad would look like! 😀

Did you know? A baker’s dozen, long dozen, or long measure is 13, one more than a standard dozen. I had so much fun coloring her shirt and took inspiration directly from all the pediatric visits we make through out the year. The nurses area and doctors are always dressed so cheerfully that I wanted to make the shirt bright and colorful.

This is always a good layout for those scraps of paper that seam to pile up and I used a large chipboard embellishment at the top to pull it all together. I finished the card with faux stitching around the edges and a pearls in the corner.

Here’s my second card today for the new releases at Little Miss Muffet Stamps! This is Anise playing football and I even colored in the black marks on the face to cut down on the sun glare.

Anise comes with all the numbers from zero to nine so this time I added #36 to her jersey. Our local team has the colors blue and white so I used those colors and placed her on a bright and cheery card.

Check out this newest release over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps! This is Monster Pains and boy, is he in some monster pains! I had so much fun drawing up this little guy and actually had to remove some bandages and bruises just to get a better look at him – after all, he’s in the recovery phase and walking around already!

I enjoy using these Kids Quotes stamps from Inkadinkadoo and this one was a great fit. This quote was credited to Alyssa Knight, Age 12.

I kept the embellishments minimal and as flat as possible so I could use it as a Get Well card. Those usually go out in two ways… either attached to a dinner or out in the mail. So just in case it would end up in the mail I stuck with the flat stuff.

On my latest shopping spree I ordered some felt and dies from My Favorite Things. I’ve enjoyed using the clouds so much that I had to pick up the sun too. I like using felt for the added texture and it kinda gives me that “warm” feeling that I hope the recipient gets too. ;D
