Magnolia StampClub

I finally have another Magnolia card to share and this one was colored with Prismacolor Pencils. My Mom received her StampClub kit in the mail today and we spent the day together experimenting with my pencils. I probably tried three or four different techniques on this paper and not sure I could remember what I did – some areas worked out better than others. I’m not sure if this is from the Magnolia Summer or Spring kit but maybe someone will leave a comment if they know for sure. ;D

Main Stamp: Magnolia StampClub 2010 (Mag)
Patterned Paper: scraps
Metal Die: Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Scalloped Rectange

Did you know? The Cascade Volcanoes are a number of volcanoes in a volcanic arc in western North America, extending from southwestern British Columbia through to Northern California, a distance of well over 700 mi (1,100 km). The arc has formed due to subduction along the Cascadia subduction zone. Although taking its name from the Cascade Range, this term is a geologic grouping rather than a geographic one, and the Cascade Volcanoes extend north into the Coast Mountains, past the Fraser River which is the northward limit of the Cascade Range proper.

Guitar Kody & Relax Mae

The challenge this week at Make it Colourful is all about the light source. The challenge is to color the image with the primary light source coming from the upper left corner. I was going to do something dramatic but ended up with a softer color pallet.

This card was made with Guitar Kody and Relax Mae from Some Odd Girl; and the “handmade” tag was made with Flower Garden from Make it Crafty. I used more laser cut embellishments covered with Liquid Pearls and here is the Flower Garden up close:

Did you know? The roadrunners bird are inhabitants of the deserts of the Southwestern United States, Mexico, and Central America; and are the ground foraging cuckoos. The bird, although capable of flight, spends most of its time on the ground. Roadrunners and other members of the cuckoo family have zygodactyl feet (two toes in front and two toes in back). Roadrunners can run at speeds of up to 20 miles per hour (32 km/h) and generally prefer sprinting to flying, however, they will fly to escape predators. The roadrunner has a dove-like “coo” that is slow and descending. It also makes a rapid, vocalized clattering sound with its beak.

Update: I was the top Fav at Some Odd Girl for this challenge!

Horus Roasting Marshmallows

We have a fun challenge for you at The Stamping Bazaar the week! The theme is “Tags”… you can add them to your project or have the tag be your project. I made this card using Horus Roasting Marshmallows in tribute to a small campfire I’ll be enjoying this weekend – and yes, with a bag of marshmallows. 😀

The corner embellishments are laser cut chipboard embellishments covered with Liquid Pearls plus a Dew Drop. I also added a few Dew Drops around the card and used up another one of those Tim Holtz tickets that seem to last forever. Horus is one of my favorite characters so I hope you enjoy this version.

Did you know? Rinaldo is an opera by George Frideric Handel composed in 1711, and was the first Italian language opera written specifically for the London stage. The story of love, battle and redemption set at the time of the First Crusade is loosely based on Torquato Tasso’s epic poem Gerusalemme liberata (“Jerusalem Delivered”), and its staging involved many original and vivid effects. It was a great success with the public, despite negative reactions from literary critics hostile to the contemporary trend towards Italian entertainment in English theaters.

Lucky Dog

Here’s a card I’ve been trying to save for March but just couldn’t wait any longer to show it off. I made it using Lucky Dog and pulled out my clover gems that I’ve been saving. If you believe it, this was using some left over Christmas paper but worked well with the black and gold theme. This is one gift I wouldn’t mind seeing on my table each year. ;D

Did you know? A leprechaun is a type of fairy in Irish folklore, usually taking the form of an old man, clad in a red or green coat, who enjoys partaking in mischief. Like other fairy creatures, leprechauns have been linked to the Tuatha Dé Danann of Irish mythology. The Leprechauns spend all their time busily making shoes, and store away all their coins in a hidden pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. If ever captured by a human, the Leprechaun has the magical power to grant three wishes in exchange for their release.

Spring Whisper

I made this card using my new stamp Spring Whisper and is part of a Seasonal Sisters series. Even though she represents Spring, I wanted to make a card with more of an St. Patrick’s Day feel and used deep greens and browns, and red hair of course. You can see the stitching so this is a card I enjoyed making at my Mom’s house. ;D

Fun Challenge: Spyder’s Corner – Spot the Difference #2 (Robbie’s Rocket)

Did you know? Rabbits are small mammals in the family Leporidae of the order Lagomorpha, found in several parts of the world. Rabbits and hares were formerly classified in the order Rodentia until 1912, when they were moved into a new order Lagomorpha. This order also includes pikas and there are eight different genera in the family classified as rabbits. The male is called a buck and the female is a doe; a young rabbit is a kitten or kit.

Spring Whisper – New Release

Come check out Spring Whisper and the newest release in the store today! She a Seasonal Sister to Summer Breeze and can be used for many occasions. With her serene pose you can sit her on your favorite background stamp or on a window/border die. I’ll have card to share in just a few minutes or if you can’t wait you can also look at what my Mom made at Grandma’s Pearl.

I’ve decided to finish out the Seasonal Sisters theme and have drafted up ideas for Autumn and Winter. It may take a while to finish them up… but at least you know what to look forward to. 😀

Don’t forget about the current challenge that I have going on and you can certainly use this image too. Unfortunately I haven’t seen any Little Miss Muffet Stamps used yet and would love to see some! ;D The theme is Spring or Flowers and you can CLICK HERE to get to the details.
