Kiara

We’ve got some new releases at Little Miss Muffet Stamps to show off and the theme is sort of centered around Critters and Combos – however, I couldn’t resit adding a few extras and a little Wee One too!  😀  Check out the LMM Challenge Blog for the DT projects and then head on over to the LMMS Store for some shopping!  I released everything today instead of dividing it up – so check it out.  😀

The card I made today was inspired for a dear friends.  I needed to make a simpathy card but nothing I had really expressed my feelings and all felt superficial at the time.  Creating a simpathy card in the moment is one of the hardest projects I’ve had for a while and it ended up taking me a week to complete  working on it here and there ad not knowing if it would ever be enough.  Anyway, I finally settled on knowing it was for a good friend and she’d probably appreciate anything I could send.  😀

Two of the imgages I used are from the New Releases this week which I combined for the dog – Kiara and Angel Accessories, both from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  Then in the background I merged it with Timber Top Ridge from Make it Crafty.  I drew the dog lookint at Staffordshire Bull Terriers but I think he can be used for any bulldog types.

I think adding the embellishments on this card took just as long as drawing and coloring the imgages.  LOL  I’d add something and it just wouldn’t look right so I’d add something else and let it sit for a day.  This took several days, as I had mentioned, however, this is the ed result.  It may notbe the most perfect card I had made but I rather like how it turned out – so I was finally able to send it off.  😀

Sunny Mae

We have another new release to show off today from Some Odd Girl and this one is called Sunny Mae!  She come with some great accessory stamps including the clouds and “fun in the sun” sentiment I used.  😀  Be sure to visit the SOG Blog for other inspiration and here’s my card…

I used some gardening paper I found at the local scrapbook store and paired it up with craft, green and brown papers from my stash.  Then rummaged around looking for other things to match and this is what I came up with.  I haven’t used craft and black papers together before and I rather like how it turned out.  😀  Thanks for coming by and have a great day!

Under the Sea Mae

We have some new clear stamp releases this week at Some Odd Girl and I couldn’t resist joining in and bringing you Under the Sea Mae!!  This set is so fun to use and includes two mermaids, two friends and a great accessory stamps too.  😀  Here’s the card that I made… using a Mermaid Mae, Seahorse, Seashells and the Fintastic Friends sentiment…

I had to dig around in my paper stash to find some water paper and was excited to find the background decorative paper.  Then by shear luck I found the sun shining yellow which was a perfect offset.  😀  But for some reason I was in with the school paper and snatched a few just for fun.  Then the sun rays were done with B00 for more of a water effect.

After getting everything on the card, as a final touch I wrapped it up with Baker’s Twine then added some Dew Drops for bubbles.  That’s about it for this card but don’t forget to head on over to the SOG Blog to see all the other fantastic… I mean, fintastic projects!!  LOL  Have a great Monday!

Christmas Princess Rio & Thanksgiving Rio

Welcome back for another peek at the Miss Rio Collection from Simply B Stamps!  There’s lots of other projects over on the SBS Blog that you can soak in as well.  😀  This evening I have two more holiday cards to showcase featuring Christmas Princess Rio and Thanksgiving Rio.  I’ve done them both in a holiday theme so I can start stalking up on my Christmas cards this year.

This first card uses Christmas Princess Rio from Simply B Stamps along with Santa’s Workshop from Make it Crafty.  Plus I used the Treasured Moments ticket die and sentiment stamps from Whimsy.

For some reason the cards are turning out more blue and I wasn’t able to figure out what color I needed to add or subtract.  The red and blues are actually spot on but the white is what turned out blueish – maybe it’s just my perception but anything else I tried made it too green or red.  O’well, I’m sure they’re fine.
This next card uses Thanksgiving Rio from Simply Betty Stamps and in the background I used a Little Village Scene from Make it Crafty.

This combination reminded me of Christmas dinner’s way back when I was a kid and the snow was abundant. I’ve now moved to a warmer climate and winters like this are things we can only dream of now. LOL I think the whole state of Texas would shut down if we got this much snow… that looks like at least two or three feet piled up on those roof – wow, could you imagine it? Not here I can’t. 😀

Ice Skate Rio & Rock N Roll Rio

Simply B Stamps has another release this week and the design team has been busy making lots of inspiration for you eyes.  😀  There are eight new images in the Miss Rio Collection and I’ve made cards using Ice Skate Rio and Rock N Roll Rio for the holidays.  Well, actually, the Rock n Roll Rio is for a birthday using the same paper pack but the birthday girl won’t know that.  LOL!  Check them out…

Ice Skate Rio from Simply B Stamps and
Park and Pond from Magnolia Alota Rubber Stamps

Rock ‘n Roll Rio from Simply B Stamps

Stay tuned for another look at the Miss Rio Collection when I’ll be back this evening with two more holiday cards.  Also don’t forget to head on over to the SBS Blog to see all the other projects using this fun images.  😀

Underwater Castle

The challenge for the last two weeks at Make it Crafty Club House was to color rainbows and I thought I’d try an underwater rainbow since the new underwater images were just released.  😀  So I printed out Underwater Castle from Make it Crafty and this is what I came up with.  Don’t forget to check out what everyone else made too in the Rainbows Gallery.

For my coloring I started with the rainbow and made long streaks while ignored everything else in the water.  I wanted a really bright look and knew that after I added blue things would get muted a little so I made sure to use brighter, more neon colors.  After adding the blue streaks, I then colored the rest of the image.

For the sand I tried to go for the bright white that is sometimes seen in the shallow tropical waters – you know, the paradise kind of water that is crystal clear and almost looks like glass.  Yeaah… that’s where I wanted to be.  😀  I used E44, E43, E42, E41, and E40 but stayed more towards the lighter colors.  Then I used bright colors again for the coral, seashells, fish and everything.

The last thing I did was use my white gel pen and color in the bubbles to make them stand out a little more.  The image actually didn’t take that long to color, maybe 30 minutes, and by starting with the rainbow I felt I could toss it out if needed without wasting too much effort.  However, it didn’t turn out so bad so I didn’t need to start over.  😀

That’s about it for the rainbow challenge.  You should give it a try with your next water project!  Thanks for dropping by and I hop you’ve been a little inspired today.  *Hugs
