Nixie Mermaid

When I was growing up, I often wished I could be a little mermaid swimming in the water and often thought if I stayed in the water long enough I would eventually turn into one!  LOL  Then as I’ve grown up, I had wondered if my own kids would feel the same way and I’m surprised to say I have someone on each end of the spectrum with one right in the middle.  He he he  It always ends up like that, doesn’t it?!  Just goes to show how different each child is!

For my project today I’ve used Nixie Mermaid from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and drawn by Simply Sophia.  Plus I also had the fish colored up from Serena Mermaid and added it to the bottom of the card – I thought it would go nicely with the summer-water theme.  😀

I’d like to enter this into the following “Summer” themed challenges:

Fancy Sunbonnet Umbrella

Kinda looks “cloudy with a a chance of meatballs today.”  😀  My kids have recently read the book and now that the 2nd movie is on it’s way out, I think we’ll make it a movie night and see the first one.  Up until now, they’ve been scared to watch any new movie but we finally made it over that hurdle!  Yeah!  So the plan is to watch a few book-to-movie features.  Should be fun!

The image I used on this project is Fancy Sunbonnet Umbrella from Little Miss Muffet Stamps in rubber form and drawn by Bugaboo Stamps.  Using the rubber stamps is perfect for this type of project as I don’t have to worry about getting that kraft cardstock through my printer… which it doesn’t!  LOL  I colored this one with Copic markers and then drew in the border with a ruler and marker; and added some shading with T1 and T2.

Celeste Amberglow Cooking Up Some Love

We have a Sunday Spotlight today at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and we’re spotlighting Celeste Amberglow Cooking Up Some Love!  She’s such an adorable and versatile image and one you’ll want to pick up for your own collection – she’s at 30% off today!!  Whohoo!  😀  I had so much fun creating my card with her and so did some other Little Misses so make sure to check them out at the LMMS Blog!

For my project I used (of course) Celeste Amberglow Cookin’ Up Some Love plus the little piggy from Tea Party Friends #1 to go along with her.  Both are from Little Miss Muffet Stamps, the first one was drawn by Pollycraft and the second one was drawn by me.  ;D

I stamped these two in brown inks and colored them with bright colors.  I wanted something cheery and also to use those colors I never get around to using.  😀  I hope she is baking me a Lava Molton Cake because I could use some about now!! LOL  Plus that’s got to be part of my soft-foods diet this week, right?  Yumm!

Forest Friends Orlando

I’d have to say, yesterday was a productive day.  I had a small burst of energy towards the evening and decided it was time to clean the house.  So in a flurry, I got everyone involved and laid down the law… we’re cleaning!  The house always gets so messy when someone is sick or in this case, had surgery, and I think Moms are usually the first one to crack.  LOL  Well, I was was determined to enjoy my weekend, not spend it cleaning up after everyone.  And I must say, it was a success and I already feel so much better.  Yeah!

Here’s a fun project I wanted to share.  This one uses Forest Friends Orlando from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  If you haven’t already noticed by now, all the Forest Friends were given names that start with the same letter as their type.  So this is Orlando the owl and he comes packaged with Quella the quail.  The other friends in the forest are Rachel the rabbit, Trevor the tortoise, Stuart the squirrel, Rosa the rattlesnake, Sabina the skunk and Foster the fawn deer.  They all say “welcome!”

I also used the mushrooms from the sets to stamp near the bottom of the paper on the card for some extra details.  I was going to do the ribbon, but I had just done that on another card so I wanted to try something new.  I think that’s about all that I have in me for today.  I hope enjoyed this card and have a great weekend!

SS Bump!

Here’s another project from the fun Carnival release last week… this one uses Bump!  I remember driving the bumper cars when I was young and then again when I was a little older.  It was so much fun the first time!  I think when we’re kids we’re made out of springs and just bound right back from anything.  LOL

The images I used are Swings ‘n Slides Bump! and Swings ‘n Slides Sentiments #1 and Swings ‘n Slides Sentiments #2, all from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and drawn by Pollycraft.  I have a goal to create something with all those carnival images – I just love them so much and it gives me an opportunity to use bright and cheery colors!

One of the background papers I used is a crossword puzzle … so I couldn’t resit getting my pencil out and circling a few words that were related to boys.  😀  I was surprised I didn’t find very many!  Maybe you’ll spot a few more and I can circle them.  He he he

Today is also Friday Freebie at Little Miss Muffet Stamps so head on over there and find a few images to play around with.  😀  Thanks for coming by today!

Luna Bitterfrost Stars Rock

We have a rocking good challenge at Little Miss Muffet starting today and the theme is STARS!  This is always a fun challenge as you can incorporate stars into your project many different way.  You can check out the DT amazing creations at the LMM Challenge blog.  😀  For my project, I chose an image that had stars on it plus used stars in the background.

I used two images on here from Little Miss Muffet Stamps…. Luna Bitterfrost Stars Rock and Puppy Additions.  The Puppy Additions was this week’s Sunday Spotlight so it was fitting to use on this card too.

I wanted to create a car using these mazes from Stampin’ Up, however, they’re sort of a center piece in itself so it was difficult to come up with something.  But because of the shape of Luna Bitterfrost, I thought that would be perfect on the side but she seemed lonely … and yep, that’s where the puppy came from.  Plus is also fills in that corner nicely.

I had to cut papers for this card twice since the first time I had cut the inside off center – which caused the maze to be skewed and the top of the card wouldn’t lay flat.  But the second time was the charm and I was able to get it centered.  However, next time, I might have to choose a different way, something more simple.
