Sunbonnet Wade Fishing

I’ve been relaxing and resting this week then remembered I had this project and knew it would be perfect to share.  😀  I used Sunbonnet Wade Fishing rubber stamp from Little Miss Muffet Stamps which was drawn by Bugaboo.  The paper I used were some scraps I had on the table that I’ve been trying to use up and I found the metal sheet in with my metal scraps – apparently I had used an embossing folder on it for another project and was smart enough to save the scraps.

Gnomey Harry

While check out the latest whimsical release in the store, I was intrigued by how some of the characters were colors, specifically in the style Gnomey Harry and his whimsical friends are colored.   So I thought I’d give it a try and see if I could figure it out.  I don’t think I understand it all the way but what I ended up trying out was a no-blending technique.  (I know, I know, it’s completely the opposite of the current coloring challenge… but hay, I gotta grab inspiration when it happens.  LOL)

The technique on this project was to color without blending at all.  Let me tell you, it was mentally challenging!  LOL   In most areas I used three colors, a light, medium and dark color.  I would color the area with the light color then block in the medium tone and ending up adding the dark tone in the most shadowed areas.  Then I added specks of the medium and dark colors to add texture.

The large mushroom ended up using five colors but I think I was able to stick to the three colors rule for the rest of the image.  The last thing I did was go back in and add white gel pen for the highlights.  I got a little carried away in the grass area but that just inspired me to try it again on another image.  LOL   That’s my least favorite part.  😦  But my most favorite part is how the brown parts of the mushroom and the gnome turned out.  I think those are the best areas for what I was trying to achieve. 

This was an interesting challenge for myself and a new way to color an image.  I’m certainly going to try it out again and hopefully I’ll get faster each time.  Anyway, I hope you’ve been inspired to try something new as well!  Thanks for taking a look.

Rosealba Faerie

Let me give this another try;  I had another post I was going to share but the keyboard I am working on is having fun with me; the period and quote keys are actually delete keys so what happened was by using those keys, it deleted my pictures Yep, the exclamation key does not work either; grrrr;   So instead of showing the project I wanted to show; I have moved on to the next one in my list; LOL

This project uses Rosealba Faerie which is a digital stamp from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and drawn by Simply Sophia;   LOL

Call Me Chester

Today is a Sunday Spotlight over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and I chose one of Pollycraft’s images to feature… Call Me Chester!  This is an adorable little monkey and I had a bit of fun with him today as well.  😀  You can click HERE to visit the LMMS blog and check out the details of the spotlight or skip right on over to the store and snag this little fella while he’s on sale!!

The images I used on this project is  Call Me Chester from Little Miss Muffet Stamps, of course, and also a sentiment from Make it Crafty called Just Wanted to Say Sentiment.  I’ve enjoyed using that stamp so much – it’s the perfect size to add to any card!

When I started with this image I stamped it twice because I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it… I wanted to use a Wobble Spring!!  This fun gizmo has a plastic string sandwiched in between two stickers.  The stickers are then adhered to the base and the part you want to stand out and wobble.  Once it’s attached, you can crank the spring and let it go for some fun animation to your card!  Below is a picture of Chester’s head while in wobble action…

Ring ring!  Ring ring!  With the image being a phone I thought it was a perfect card to use the wobble spring and it’s been fun to play with too!  LOL  Thanks for coming by today and I hope you’ve enjoyed my card!  Don’t forget you can pick up Call Me Chester at 30% OFF this week at Little Miss Muffet Stamps!

Fancy Sunbonnet Winter Snowball

Bugaboo is having a week long Christmas in July event and Little Miss Muffet Stamps is supporting them today!  When they invited us for the third Annual Bugaboo Christmas in July Celebration and Blog Hop, we just had to throw some samples into the pot to show our support.  😀

For my project I wanted to show off one of the Bugaboo rubber stamps that is available at Little Miss Muffet Stamps… this one is Fancy Sunbonnet Winter Snowball.  She even versatile enough that the snowball can easily be turned into a bauble!  You’ll have to check out Faye’s website to see that.  She has a great story to go along with it.  😀  The sentiment is one that was included in another Fancy Sunbonnet stamp and worked great for this one too.

The rest of the card was simple to put together.  I had a large crossword background stamp that I used on the decorative paper then added some more black and teal accents with the ribbon.  Lastly, the sentiment was stamped in London Fog and a tag was created.

The snow was something I wanted to try and I did a reverse technique of the clouds.  Then added some white from a gel pen to give it a glistening look.  It’s interesting how it turned out and not sure if I like it or not yet.  LOL  Anyway, thanks for dropping by and you can click HERE to start your hop!
