Zoom Coloring Sessions with Sproatmeyer

I have three online coloring sessions scheduled through Zoom as a class-type instruction but also a laid back time for coloring together. These will be recorded and placed in the Zoom cloud for participants to reference later on. There is limited availability.

The first class will be a new coloring for me – trust me, it’ll be awesome! We’re going to use Polka Dot Pals Gemma which is a free digital stamp from Whimsy Stamps. We’ll give her a cute customized face, color the character then add a simple background. Download and print the image before the session.

The second class is also a digital stamp and we’ll be coloring Hare Bear Friends from Whimsy Stamps. You’ll need to purchase the digital stamp separately and download it from Whimsy Stamps. We’ll be coloring this snowy winter scene.

The third session, we’ll be coloring Spencer’s Ship which is a retired stamp from Little Miss Muffet Stamps (me). This is a rubber stamp and will be mailed out to participants. I only have 9 spots available for this session! We’ll color this bear character and add a seaside beach scene similar to the second card below:

Mermaid Set from Paper Nest Dolls

I had a fantastic time at the Paper Nest Dolls’ Sun & Fun Retreat in Florida this weekend and getting to know so many wonderful people!! For our final project, we created this bookmark using the alcohol drop method on the background. I love using handmade bookmarks so it’s fun to have another one to use. I’m using the Mermaid Set from Paper Nest Dolls to create this bookmark with papers and accessories from Echo Park “A Slice of Summer” series. Until next time… keep your world colorful! Ciao!

Bubbles Fun Owen from Paper Nest Dolls

It’s day three of the Paper Nest Dolls’ Sun and Fun Retreat and if you’re lucky enough to have attended then this is a card you colored yesterday. On this project I’m using Bubbles Fun Owen from Paper Nest Dolls with paper and accessories from Echo Park “A Slice of Summer” series. My goal was to give some color to the bubble and reflect some of the elements around the character. I didn’t want realism but something that would convey the magic of summer. To do this, I added a mini rainbow in the bubble and then some white twinkles floating around.

Mermaid Set from Paper Nest Dolls

Next project we’ll be making at the Paper Net Dolls’ Sun and Fun Retreat is this jellyfish card. I’m using the Mermaid Set from Paper Nest Dolls to create this bookmark with papers and accessories from Echo Park “A Slice of Summer” series. I like to color unexpectedly and not following the lines is a major part of that. That method is called Creative Color Placement and it’s as simple as adding plaid to a shirt, polka dots on a skirt, or in this case, making the dome of the jellyfish transparent. I think it adds a whole new perspective on what can be done through coloring.

Scratch & Scribble Playful Pups

It’s always fun to shop in the store personally rather than online and pick-up because of the unplanned treasures found that inevitably increase the purchase price. That was just the case for this card when I spotted a Scratch & Scribble mini kit featuring Playful Pups. It reminded me of a project Sandy Allnock did recently and I thought it would be fun to try.

This was a super easy car to put together and scratching the black reminded of doing this as a kid. The colors were already part of the layer under the black so all I had to do when finished as place it on a card front.
