Polka Dot Pals Lark

This is Polka Dot Pals Lark and she’s been clowning around in the Little Miss Muffet shop!  Can you spot what she’s been up to?!  Happy April Fool’s Day!  I thought it would be perfect to release an image like this today.  🙂

The face and hair was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and the rest was with Copic markers.  It’s not quite a mix of mediums but rather a hybrid.  Some day I’ll apply pencils over the markers.  Someday. The card was kept simple since the image was so large so all I added were some corduroy buttons and brads.

The other image I used on this is the Confetti Background.  Both that and Polka Dot Pals Lark are digital stamps from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  Thanks for coming by and have a wonderful and fun Fool’s day!

Cutters Baggie and Tag

Here’s a fun little project I put together using the C.C. Designs Bumble Bee freebie that was given out over the weekend.  She was so cute sitting there and I thought it would be fun to make a little tag.  The tag and envelop was created from the Baggie and Tag Metal Die and the stack of books she is sitting on is from Cupcakes ‘n Books at Little Miss Muffet Stamps.

The sentiment says “May Your Birthday be filled with Many Blessing” and was one I had on the shelf.  I had originally planned to clean off the “Many” word before stamping then write in “Magic”.  That would have been perfect!  But alas, some ideas are forgotten quicker than they are implemented.  LOL  Perhaps the idea will be useful to someone else.  🙂

Zoe by Christa

This project makes use of the Colouring Long Hair in Fine Detail eBook by Make it Craft and the image featured in that is Zoe by Christa, a Saturated Canary image. Zoe has done a great job instructing and teaching how to color long hair in fine details – just like the title suggests – and more!  I colored this one with watercolors and tried something new.  It turned out better than I had hoped.  Watercolors always gives me problems because I tend to use too much water and then everything gets to be a mess. LOL

I also used some chipboard embellishments by MiC and this time colored it with Prismacolor Pencils.  The main butterfly is colored to resemble a Cattleheart butterfly and the blue ones are suppose to be Blue Morpho butterflies.  Then the tiny red ones were just colored red because I needed more red.  Using the Prismacolor Pencils on the chipboard alwasy comes out with a nice color tone.  I think the softer led helps with that.

Jr. Hatter Jocelyn

There is a fun new challenge over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps that is sure to fix one of your projects – or better yet, create a project just for us!  😀  The theme is “Spring Colors” and I’ve dragged out my colored pencils to join in on this one.

The image I used is Jr. Hatter Jocelyn from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  I’ve stamped it on Balsa Wood with gray then colored it with my new Polychromos Pencils.  I also used Make it Crafty dragonflies chipboard embellishments.  The rest of the card was put together with odds and ends from around my crafting space.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you get a chance to come craft with us!

Tilda Big Balloon

Remember when?  That could be a loaded question!  LOL  I colored this Tilda last year at the Texas Colouring Retreat when my friend Zoe came into town.  We challenged everyone to a coloring contest and to see who could color an image in less than 10 minutes.  Now that may seam like ample time but it isn’t… that clock counts down faster than a prairie fire with a tail wind!

I worked on Tilda Big Balloon, which was one of the prizes at the retreat from Tilda Edwin Magnolia, and thought it was small enough that I could finish.  Zoe also colored one and we had a sub challenge to see who could color with the most definition.  I even colored Tilda with a traditional face.  Gasp!  We might have limited our colors to a certain number too but it’s been a while that I no longer remember.  Anyway in the end, we pretty much tied!  Afterwards I added face details then tangled on the balloon with a white gel pen.

For some embellishments on the card, I added some Make it Crafty chipboard dragonflies and painted them with Liquid Pearls.  Hope you like this and thanks for dropping by!

Linking Train Cupcake

LMMS is sponsoring Cupcake Inspirations challenge blog this month they are having a color combination theme!  They would also love to connect with you through Facebook where you can like your favorite projects and creations.

For my project I used Linking Train Engine, Linking Train Birthday and Blossoms Cupcake digital stamps from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  The cupcake was actually based off of the inspirational photo shared by Cupcake Inspirations and so I’ve colored it using the suggest color combinations.  Then I found some lovely turquoise to accent the colors and added some flat-backed pearls as embellishments.

This was a fun image to color and I hope it brings a smile to your face today!
