Linking Train from Whimsy Stamps

I whipped out a couple cards today using the new Linking Train clear stamp from Whimsy Stamps and enjoyed making a holiday and birthday card. The holiday one is a bit more complex so I’m going to showcase the birthday card today. This is one of my favorite sets and I always love the cards that are created with it. Definitely a must have! The Linking Train is perfect for all sorts of cards and works well with slimline cards too. For this one, I created a scene using the accessory stamps and added one car. I could probably fit two more cars on a slimline but for this one I wanted to make sure I had room for the sentiment. For this card, I used the Slimline Card Builder Die to cut it down to size after coloring.
After coloring the train and adding white patterns on the flag, I realized the white background would need something more. The white was overpowering to me so I decided to take my lightest colors and create a simple scene. The grass uses two green markers, the mountains are one and the sky is another color – I think the lighter and more simple scene complements the Linking Train well.
