If you’re just tuning in, check out the previous post on all the release details and then pop into the LMMS Facebook group to catch up on everything. Today you’ll find tips on a second way to use the Polka Dot Pals Add-on Faces in case alignment is a bit jittery.
For my project, I used Polka Dot Pals Lirienne and stamped her on Balsa Wood. However, before I did that, I wiped the ink away from the pupil of her eyes. This truly gave her a blank face! LOL I wanted to do that so when I used the vampire face, the eyes would have an eerie glow to them.
This is also a technique you could use if you had trouble aligning the eyes or if you wanted to use them on another type of image. The easiest way to do this is to use a cotton swap.
I then colored my image using Prismacolor Pencils. The skin tones were more grayish and white colors for a nice vampire glow. The eyes and lips I did in red because I really wanted it to stand out and the white highlights help give it a finished look. Coloring on Balsa Wood is my favorite way to use my pencils as the texture is very soft.
The rest of the card was put together with a bunch of odds and ends. Gesso was used on the back decorative paper and Make it Crafty Chipboard are some of the embellishments. I also used the metal dies Just Saying and Mini Alpha & Numbers Cutters from CC Designs. Lastly for a bit of a fun element, I suspended the sentiment with an Action Wobbles Spring.
I’d like to share this into the following challenges:

Somehow I deleted my comment! This card is just gorgeous. I'll never be able to achieve this quality of coloring but am going to give it a try since you've posted how you did it. This is the best face and eyes I've ever seen!

OMG, how adorable, Barbara! Love that add on vampire face and I've never heard of coloring on balsa wood but the effect is fabulous. Her red eyes and lips indeed stand out and I almost don't think I'd mind being bitten by this cutie. Lovely embellishments, too. Thanks so much for joining our 'Darkness Falls' challenge at Aurora Wings. xxD
