Batty Boo

I had some fun shopping for new Halloween paper over the weekend and picked up the Witches Brew Jillibean Soup mini pad and couldn’t wait to use it.  The image I used on this project is Batty Boo from Whimsy Stamps (and also available at Little Miss Muffet Stamps) which was colored with Prisimacolor Pencils.  The paper I used was a little too smooth so I was a bit limited on the coloring but even so it didn’t turn out too bad.   These little critters are cute, whatever they are, and fun to color.  😀  Hope you like it too and have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

Girl Hug

Today (well actually, two days ago) is my opportunity to add a project to the MiC Store Blog!  This is a project that I did for the Whimsy Magazine last month and I’ve combined images using Whimsy and Make it Crafty to create this scene.  The Make it Crafty images are all set on the sides of the images and then cropped so I only show half of it – in effect, it creates a more personal image and one that looks more like a real picture.  After all, how often are our pictures taken where *something* hasn’t been cropped!  LOL

You can see the background was created using several elements from different themes… such as Paris Elements (to create the bottom of the wall), Winter Scene Elements (for the snow, of course) and the door, windows and Christmas tree were also included.  Why the window is open on a cold winter day?  I don’t know but maybe they burnt the turkey and needed to air out the house a bit.  LOL

Once the background was built, I added the characters.  Even though these are everyday characters, I thought they would be perfect for a Christmas themed card and that big hug says it all!  😀

Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have a great weekend!

Gertrude Lena Hatter

Wow, what a week this has been with most of my family, including myself, harboring the flu.  I’m not quite ready for today but luckily I had my project completed a while ago so I actually have something to share.  ;D  Needless to say, there are lots of picture but not much text in this post.  😦  This is for the latest Sketch Challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and you’ll have to head on over to the LMMS Challenge blog to read about all the details.

The main products I used on this project are as follows:

I love how the diecut door came out on this project – it looks so inviting!  😀  Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have a wonderful week.  Hugs

Kaydance

Good morning.. er, um afternoon by now!  LOL  I’m mentally exhausted from filing the taxes this year but so proud I didn’t go for another extension!  That usually means I put it off until the next deadline so this year it will be nice that it won’t be looming in the back of my mind.  (Deep sigh!)  However, I still have about 4 more weeks of school until I can really breath.  Just keep swimming!

The image I used on this project is Kaydance from Whimsy Stamps.  This little girl was drawn by Elisabeth Bell and is always a favorite style since I have three girls of my own.  I thought this one was perfect to use since we live in Texas!  However, next time I color it, instead of grass I want to color a cactus like Chris did HERE.

Well, I guess it’s time for me to get back to studying – my break time is over.  Hope you’ve enjoyed this little bit of inspiration and have a great mid-week!

Dylan and Sam Fishing

Welcome to the Make it Crafty Spring Blog Hop!  Today a bunch of MiC gals are getting together and sharing some spring fever creations for you and you can get the list of everyone HERE!  Plus EACH blog will draw a random winner from their comments on Tuesday and the winner will win a free surprise ‘Spring Themed’ digi stamp not yet released!!  How awesome is that?!  And something you don’t want to miss out on!  So here’s my project…

I’ve used the image Sam and Dylan Fishing from Make it Crafty plus a few chipboard embellishments to help finish this project off, including Fancy Ribbon Sliders and N2 Simple Frame.  The N2 Simple Frame actually coordinates with Whimsy diecuts and labels which all together make quick fancy labels.  I used one of the Fancy Ribbon Slider and cut it in half so I could use it as sort of a tag.

The papers are Shine On from BasicGrey which provided a nice bright color pallet.  Around where I live, things are either brown and dead or green and vibrant – so unfortunately this isn’t any other season.  So spring to me, means lots of flowers, green grass and bright colors!  I was even able to spend an hour outside gardening this even too – it was great!  Anyway, here’s a close up of Dylan and Sam Fishing…

What does spring mean to you?  Or what are your favorite spring colors, activities or whatnot?  Leave a comment below for a chance to win a free surprise ‘Spring Themed’ digi stamp from Make it Crafty which as not yet been released!  Thanks for dropping by today and I hope you have a great Easter weekend.  😀

Gargoyles

It’s Monday and there is a new challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenges and the theme this week is all about “Mythical Creatures.”  But there’s more!  Little Miss Muffet Stamps is sponsoring this week’s challenge so that’s a double reason to join in.  😀  So naturally I wanted to join in too and I took inspiration from one of Faye’s card and came up with this one…

The stamps I used are the three gargoyles from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.. .Krill the Gargoyle , Laplem the Gargoyle and Naw the Gargoyle.  Then the butterflies and the sentiment stamp are from Whimsy and part of the Notables stamps and dies collection and the butterflies are even from that too.  The rest of the card is made up of the basics paper, glue and sewing.  😀

Here’s one of the gargoyles close up so you can see how easy he was to color.  I was aiming for an old statue look as if they’ve been on the building for centuries … but then the eyes with a glowing green/yellow as if they’re just about to come to life!  😀  I used the Warm gray colors and dotted in texture from the darkest color to the lightest.  By time I got up to W1 then I just colored in the rest.  Then I used YG91 to add some green moss color in random areas.

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:
ABC Challenges – J for Just as you Like it
Oozak March Challenge – Anything Goes

My daughter also has a card to share!  This one uses another label stamp from Whimsy and then she added a heart-shaped pocket for candy – sounds like a yummy card to me!  The form stars were taped on and this one she lovingly gave to her teacher.  She’s so sweat!  (Um…. both my daughter and her teacher!)
