The button flower I made is a cute design I saw at Christy’s blog Where They’ll Go. She made a simply fabulous card with three of these and I had to make one myself!

Did you know? Liquid helium below its lambda point begins to exhibit very unusual characteristics, in a state called helium II. One of these characteristics happens when a surface extends past the level of helium II, the helium II moves along the surface, against the force of gravity. Helium II will escape from a vessel that is not sealed by creeping along the sides until it reaches a warmer region where it evaporates.

On this card I added a few subtle details such as the looped earrings and sparkles over the stars on the background. Did you know? Bats are the only mammals naturally capable of true and sustained flight. By contrast, other mammals said to fly, such as flying squirrels, gliding possums and colugos, glide rather than fly, and can only glide for short distances. Bats do not flap their entire forelimbs, as birds do, but instead flap their spread out digits.

Shane Playing Basketball

I made this card using Shane Playing Basketball from The Stamping Bazaar designed by Marina Neira. This is an excellent stamp for both a boy or girl but it also has some sentimental history too which really made it fun to use!

I’ve decided to also send this one to Operation Write Home along with the other cards I made. I figured they probably need lots of boy cards! Together, my Mom and I pulled a bunch of cards from our stash to bundle and hope it helps out.

Did you know? Jumping spiders are have a very interesting tarsal section. At the end of each leg they have hundreds of tiny hairs, which each then split into hundreds more tiny hairs, each tipped with an “end foot”. These thousands of tiny feet allow them to climb up and across virtually any terrain, even glass.

Patriotic Eagle

The Stamping Bazaar is having their first challenge! The theme of this challenge is simply to make a Christmas card to be mailed to Operation Write Home. There are no restrictions as to which stamps you can use –all manufacturers/stamp companies are welcome!

Four digi stamps are previewed today and two were created especially for this occasion and I used one of them! I made this card using Patriotic Eagle from The Stamping Bazaar, designed by Marina Neira, which will be given out as part of the challenge prize. Did you know? A Bering Strait crossing is a hypothetical bridge or tunnel spanning the relatively narrow and shallow Bering Strait between the Chukotka Peninsula in Russia and the Seward Peninsula in Alaska. If the mainlands would be joined together by bridges, then the bridges would measure a total distance of about 80 km (50 miles).
