Sally

I made this card using Sally drawn by the very own Betty from Simply Betty Stamps! This is for the third day of Halloween where the challenge was to use a Sally Rag Doll as the image. I’ve done the whole web thing before, I know… but this time I wanted to see what it looked like with bows! I also drew the webs on the card to “tie” them all together. ;D

Did you know? A trestle is a rigid frame used as a support, especially referring to a bridge composed of a number of short spans supported by such frames, such as for railroads. However, many wooden roller coasters are built using design details similar to trestle bridges because it is so easy to make the roller coaster very high.

Lili

I decorated the top of this storage box using Lili from Simply Betty Stamps. The box is the perfect size to fix standard size cards to protect them when in transit. The challenge is anything but a card with a Halloween theme… bats, black cats, and skulls… check! However, I used a rainbow color scheme because it’s my daughter’s “favorite color!”

I got the idea of the envelop from a Whiff of Joy stamp called Charlotte Riding on Pigeon plus Sentiments. I drew it to get the right size and changed the postage stamp to be a little more fitting for Lili. 😀 Then stamped it with one of the sentiments included in that set.

Did you know? A rainbow is an optical and meteorological phenomenon that causes a spectrum of light to appear in the sky when the Sun shines onto droplets of moisture in the Earth’s atmosphere. A rainbow does not actually exist at a particular location in the sky. Rather the reflecting light is visible in the opposite direction of the Sun with respect to the observer, and the interior is always slightly brighter than the exterior.

Lola Mummy

I made this card using Lola Mummy from Simply Betty Stamps along with the digital stamp Halloween Haunted House from Make It Crafty. This project is for the Second Day of Halloween Challenge which is to create a card or project using two Trick-or-Treaters. With little tidbits inbetween all the home chaos, it took me all day to color it!

I doubled up Lola Mummy pairing as two sisters and put them out Trick-or-Treating in front of a spooky Haunted House. This was my first attempt at this type of accordion fold card and I think I guessed wrong. But at least it stands and can be used as a display.

Here’s a picture of just the background where I colored the sky in waves of purple. Because I knew Lola was going to be on the left side I tried to make plenty of room for them to walk and moved the house to the far right.

Did you know? The Fabian strategy is a military strategy where pitched battles and frontal assaults are avoided in favor of wearing down an opponent through a war of attrition and indirection. While avoiding decisive battles, the side employing this strategy harasses its enemy through skirmishes to cause attrition, disrupt supply and affect morale.

Christian Vamp

Call me crazy but the 12 days of Halloween from Simply Betty Stamps sounds like fun! I’m not sure if I can do all 12 days but cheer me on! ;D I made this card using Christian Vamp from Simply Betty Stamps. I combined challenges: to create a card or project which included skull(s); color with orange; a Halloween/Spooky theme; anything goes; and one for the 3 B’s: Boy, Button, & Black. They’re tiny… but those bats are buttons!

Did you know? The term nursery rhyme is used for “traditional” songs for young children in Britain and many other countries, but usage only dates from the 19th century and in North America the older ‘Mother Goose Rhymes’ is still often used.

Christian Back to School

I made this card using Christian Back to School by Simply Betty Stamps. I’ve been set on a personal challenged by my husband to truly make “the impossible” boy card since we think hand-made does not equal boy! However, he says this one fits the bill! The other one posted today didn’t – win some, loose some.

For the sentiment, I drew out HB for Happy Birthday and colored it graffiti style then set it on a decorative bottle cap. The second one shows one I drew for my Mom on the same day. The challenge is to create a card or project using a birthday boy theme, all about boys, and finally to use Amy’s Straight Hair technique.

Did you know? Darwin’s bark spider, a species new to science from Madagascar, weaves its huge web over flowing rivers, stretching up to 80 feet (25 meters) over rivers. It is so big that it can catch 30 or more prey insects at any one time.

London

I made this card using London from Simply Betty Stamps. This is my second card made for this challenge which has the theme Halloween but to use a non-Halloween stamp from their store. The other challenge is to use three or more images. I have the main character images but on the background I’ve also use three other stamps around the edges: a rose, chandelier and fluer de lises.

I altered this cutie to give her wings in the same style as Simply Betty Stamps store logo. I covered the wings with glitter which looks awesome in real-life! Finally, the web was strung together with twine and catches this little angel in a web of love.

Did you know? According to legend, Tomorr Mountain was personified by a giant who fought his brother Shpirag or Shpiragu, another personification of a nearby mountain, for the love of a young woman. The two brothers fought bitterly for her affections and ended up killing each other. Deep in sorrow, the grieving woman for whom they had contested wept over their deaths and her tears created the Osum River.
