Popcorn & Cotton Candy

Welcome to another challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps where this week our theme is “You’ve Been Framed!”  There might be many different ways to interpret this challenge and it would hilarious to see something regarding stolen cookies from the cookie jar.  LOL  However, the main idea is to use a frame on or around another stamp.  Here’s my interpretation…

For my project, I used Swings ‘n Slides Popcorn and Swings ‘n Slides Cotton Candy from Little Miss Muffet Stamps which were drawn by Pollycraft.  Then the poloroid photo frame and accessories in the Say Cheese set from Lawn Fawn.  The card layout was one I spotted on Pinterest but when I went back to grab the link, it had disappeared. 😦  So somewhere out there is a similar card that I really liked where I got my inspiration from.

These two characters are rubber stamps and I used a masking technique to stamp them close together.  However, don’t look too closely or you might find a mistake here and there.   LOL  These rubber stamps can be found in the LMMS Store and you can find the “You’ve Been Framed” challenge at the LMMS Store Blog.

Clover New Snow Clouds

I have a special post today and I’m excited to share that I’ve been asked to participate in an Advent Calendar by Bastel-Traum!  I have both a project to share plus a little story on how my family celebrate the Christmas season.  😀  Before we get to the store, here’s the project I made using Clover New Snow Clouds and Party Banner Metal Die from Little Miss Muffet Stamps…  my family traditions follow.  ;D

The Christmas traditions in my family take a twist from what you might expect during the holidays but we find it a good mix between a Jolly Santa, Christ and the gift giving spirit.  Each year on Christmas Eve we gather together as a family and have a “Shepherd’s Dinner.”  The family sits on the floor gathered around the fireplace for a picnic style meal.  It’s a bit posh compared to the olde times but it’s a visual remembrance of what it might have been like the night of the first Christmas Eve. Our dinner consists of a selection of breads, meats, cheeses, and fruits.  We follow up with a Christmas story and devotional, traditionally one that Grandma has picked out.

Later that evening is when “St. Nicholas soon would be there; the children [are] nestled all snug in their beds; [and] visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.”  Each one in turn will wake up out of bed and place a secrete gift under the tree and as they do so, they must say “Ho, ho, ho!”  LOL  We keep it a secret by labeling the gift “from Santa” but sometimes timing our secrete escapade can be tricky.  Mommy or Daddy will help the littlest ones and when morning comes, it’s so fun to see that so may “Santas” have visited the tree.  The kids still enjoy the magical aspect of Santa with their friends and enjoy keeping it a secret.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you get a chance to visit Bastel-Traum this season and check out the other calendar goodies that are being opened each day!  Seasons Greetings!

DIY Chester

Our challenge this week at Little Miss Muffet Stamps is “Polka Dots” and is one that was initially created for use with the latest Polka Dot Pals images!!  But don’t let that be the limit of this challenge because it also includes polka dot papers and designs too!  I was able to use one of those darling girls but then came across this decorative paper and the “Don’t Forget” bingo card next to it and I completely changed my thinking to come up with this card…

The image is DIY Chester drawn by Pollycraft and available as a rubber stamp at Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  The thought of this image and the “don’t forget” bingo card gives me the chuckles and, with the warm color scheme, makes this a great man card!  Yes, I know there’s some stiching on there and polka dots are circles – but, I think it still passes as a man card.  LOL  Don’t you think so?

This rubber stamp and other Chester images can be found in the LMMS Store and the challenge is hosted on the LMMS Store Blog.  Make sure you visit the challenge blog to see all the gorgeous creations and many that feature the adorable Polka Dot Pal images too!!  Have a great week!

Hooked

I finally made a project with the Swings ‘n Slides Hooked image I colored for the 7 Colors challenge that Faye put out on LMMS FB group!  (Wow, that was a mouth full!  LOL)  So about two months ago Faye challenged me to color an image using only 7 colors.  Then about a month ago is when I started to get serious about it.   Yeah, I know, a month?!  Lucky for me, the gals on FB decided that the blender pen was more of an eraser than a color and was allowed.  So, 7 colors, but 8 markers.  Here’s the end result:

The image is Swings ‘n Slides Hooked from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and drawn by Pollycraft.  The colors I used are G46, W7, R17, E00, E59, YR31 and E23 plus the “eraser” too.  I chose this image because it gave me five large “blocks” that would show off the colors nicely.  And I wanted to use a lot of colors to be impressive too!  So picking out the colors was tedious because each color had to be used in multiple places.  For example, the green area has gray, green and yellow; and the red area has brown, red and yellow.  And oddly enough, the orange was the hardest color to squeeze out!

The dragonflies are chipboard accessories from Make it Crafty and Zoe also sent me the sandal charm.  Thanks Zoe!  And thanks Faye for the challenge too!  😀

Sonny Honeycloud Mistletoe

Today is Super Saturday at Little Miss Muffet Stamps where we feature a rubber stamp that will be on sale for the week plus the freebie image for the day!  This is a limited time special and today I wanted to create something with the rubber stamp: Sonny Honeycloud Mistletoe!  She’s a popular one and you’ll want to make sure to visit the LMMS Blog for the other fabulous DT creations!

I went with some simple and used one layer of cardstock, Crygon sparkling white, and stamped my image directly on the page.  (The little ticket is a stamp from Stampin’ Up!) Then I used some ribbon, a ticket and staples for embellishments.  There is a little doodling on the card too for the border and wind, as you can plainly see.  He he he

I went with a non-traditional color pallet and chose green, brown/tan and yellow/gold for this one.  The green is just enough to say Christmas but the yellow and brown off set it enough to be different.  Don’t miss out on this one and jump into the LMMS Store to scoop her up while she’s on discount!!

Craftitutde Challenge #5 – S for Stamps

Sonny Honeycloud Mistletoe

There’s a new challenge opening up today at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and the theme is “We Wish You a Merry Xmas!”  It’s never to early, or too late, to start working on your holiday cards so this is a challenge to get you motivated and inspired to create all those much enjoyed holiday greetings!  I’ve gone with a red and blue theme and did a little recycling on my project.  I’ll explain that a little later… but here’s my project for today…

The image is Sonny Honeycloud Mistletoe rubber stamp from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and was drawn by Pollycraft.  I think this girl would be great in many other colors too and having the mistletoe on her hat is cute and makes for a great card front!  The recycling portion on here are the snowflakes which I had used once before in the summer – they were originally in a children’s cup, the ones that have a double lining with water in between.  These were the floaters and when the cup broke, I just couldn’t toss them in the rubbish.  LOL

I’m excited when I use up all the papers in a theme for two reasons – one, I’m probably tired of the patterns by the end, and two, it feels good to know I’ve put it ALL to good use.  😀  This card is one of them and I think I’m more excited about my first reason than my second.  He he he

Thanks for dropping by and for your comments.  You can find this stamp in the LMMS Store and the challenge runs for about two weeks and is found on the LMMS Store Blog.
