Luna Bitterfrost Stars Rock

We have a rocking good challenge at Little Miss Muffet starting today and the theme is STARS!  This is always a fun challenge as you can incorporate stars into your project many different way.  You can check out the DT amazing creations at the LMM Challenge blog.  😀  For my project, I chose an image that had stars on it plus used stars in the background.

I used two images on here from Little Miss Muffet Stamps…. Luna Bitterfrost Stars Rock and Puppy Additions.  The Puppy Additions was this week’s Sunday Spotlight so it was fitting to use on this card too.

I wanted to create a car using these mazes from Stampin’ Up, however, they’re sort of a center piece in itself so it was difficult to come up with something.  But because of the shape of Luna Bitterfrost, I thought that would be perfect on the side but she seemed lonely … and yep, that’s where the puppy came from.  Plus is also fills in that corner nicely.

I had to cut papers for this card twice since the first time I had cut the inside off center – which caused the maze to be skewed and the top of the card wouldn’t lay flat.  But the second time was the charm and I was able to get it centered.  However, next time, I might have to choose a different way, something more simple.

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:
The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge – stars and/or stripes
Simon Says Stamp Challenges – anything goes
Lady Anne’s Challenge #9 – anything goes
Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #51 – anything goes

Update: I was a top pick at the Sisterhood of Crafters for this project!

SS Winner!

It’s an exciting day today as the Little Miss Muffet DT reveals the new Pollycraft images being released today!!  It’s a Carnival theme but these images and great for all sorts of occasions, especially birthdays!  There are so many images to choose from that it was difficult to pick one for today.  LOL  So make sure you visit the LMMS Store to see them all plus the LMMS Challenge blog to see everyone’s awesome creations!!

The images I’ve used is Swings ‘n Slides Winner! from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and drawn by Pollycraft.  This guy was perfect for a birthday boy card and I enjoyed using all the fun colors.

My kids are at the perfect age that we all enjoy going to the local fun and games arena for some family activities.  We’re currently fixated on Putt Putt Golf … my favorite part is the miniature golf but my kids’ favorite part are all the token-slot games!!  They collect so many tickets to cash in at the for prizes just like this image.  He he he

Thanks for coming by today and I hope you’ve enjoyed the release!  Now it’s time for some shopping!  (Click HERE)  While you’re having fun in the store, wish me some luck today.  I’m getting my tonsils removed and I don’t think the nurses will be happy if I cart in my collection of markers with me!  LOL

I’d like to enter this into the “boy” themed following challenges:

Snowballs and Snow Buds

There’s a new challenge starting today at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and our theme for this round is “Happy Families!”  We want to see your creations with more than one stamp on your project depicting a family scene.  For my project I’ve gone for brothers and sisters in combination of a Winter scene.  Check it out…

The images I used are Snowballs and Snow Buds from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and drawn by Pollycraft.  I couldn’t wait to put these two figures together as I thought they made a wonderful scene!  The rubber stamps and sizes just right for each other.  I stamped the boy first then masked him and stamped the girl image.

The snowflakes are painted chipboard designs from Make it Crafty and I added some gems to the center of a few.  Then added a few more gems around hoping to give the illusion of snow falling.

I’d like to enter this into the following Anything Goes themed challenges:

Spencer’s Garden

Here’s a fun card that I thought would be appropriate to share today since it’s a holiday and my family is home relaxing and playing in the backyard.  It’s full of fun summer colors and has a simple layout too.  The stamp I used is Spencer’s Garden from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and drawn by Pollycraft.

I used two diecuts in my collection, the grass and the reverse-scalloped square; plus a little sewing around the edges and some ribbon.  I colored the image with Copic markers on Neenah paper.  Here’s a close up of the image and also how I did the background with dots…

I’m starting to experiment with my color combinations and mixing up the color groups or reaching for markers that I don’t use very often.  I’m pretty familiar with the entire brown and gray ranges but it’s been fun to see how the other colors work out.  Thanks for coming by today and for those who are on holiday I hope you’re having a wonderful time!

Poorly Chester

Oi… it’s Monday!  This has been us this past week – all stuffed up with allergies and sinus problems with a few infections here and there.  So I thought it was a perfect card to show today!  LOL

The images I used are Poorly Chester from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and designed by Pollycraft, and Totally A-Maze-ing from Stampin Up.  I’ve wanted to use the maze for a while but it’s so huge that it’s hard to fit on the card.  I think I’ve managed to get it one on there okay and also came up with another idea which I’ll show later on.

I think PJs always look cute as the traditional blue and white stripes but this time I wanted to try something different and went with turquoise and yellow to match the paper. And of course, I had to give him a pink nose!  LOL

We’re all on meds and we’ll be feeling much better – just in time for the holiday weekend next week.  Whohoo… a 3-day weekend!!  Then after that, one week of school and the kiddos will be out for the summer.  Yeah… that should be fun.  😀

BBQ Chester

It’s another challenge day at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this fortnight we’re challenging you to use the colors Kraft, Red and White!  Make sure you head on over to the LMMS Challenge blog to check out all the other DT creations – they’re fabulous!!  For my project, I decided to take this opportunity to try coloring with Copic markers on Kraft paper and this is what I ended up with…

I used BBQ Chester from Little Miss Muffet Stamps drawn by Pollycraft.  In the background I also used the accessory chef hat that comes with this stamp to create a custom background paper suited for the theme.  😀  The butterfly is chipboard embellishment from Make it Crafty and the tag is a diecut from Stampin’ Up (I think.)

Here’s a close up of Chester.  I loved how his skin color turned out, however, I would have like to have the white more… well, white!  LOL  Maybe next time I’ll try paper piecing and see how that works.

It’s raining outside this evening here in Texas which got me to wonder, how many different ways there are to describe rain. I’ve heard that Eskimos have an unusually large number of words for snow (see HERE for a good chuckle.)  However, is it true for rain too?  I’ve found a few sites that will list some by my favorite so far is one from BBC News titled “Fifty Words for Rain.”  Out of that one… my favorite, and most fitting for the weather outside is … “Raining Stair-rods: Any garden furniture not taken indoors floats away. Reporters on 24-hour news channels began using words torrential and holding their hands out with their palms upturned.”  So in other words, I need to hurry up and click on “Publish” before I loose power for the night!  LOL
