I’m a bit slow on putting this project together for the Friday Freebie but I finally finished it and still wanted to show off how fun the Confetti Background is!  This is what I had in mind for when I created it… giant streams of ribbon in the background.  LOL  But it’s also great scaled down for a background or all on it’s own like how Mette did.  Anyway, here’s what I made…

On this project I’ve used the Confetti Background, Polka Dot Pals Toby and the Party Banner Metal Die all from Little Miss Muffet Stamps. I actually colored the image first and knew I wanted to go with a superman cape which means I’d be using bright blues and reds… so naturally, the primary colors came to mind with a bit of green to tone it down.  I was lucky enough to find paper that matched!  Seriously lucky… since I don’t have a lot of bright papers around.

The the rest of the card was put together grabbing things from my desk… some tape-measure ribbon, a clasp, a ticket, and then finally some letter.  I had to hold my breath as I counted out the banners to make sure I had enough … and yep, it’s perfect!

For the face, I wanted to experiment with something new and try to color and open mouth.  The expression is suppose to be joy … like she was saying “Yea!”  (A cute version of THIS.) However, to me it looks like she ended up with a milk mustache!  LOL  However, it was a good start and through searching in Google I found two things that were interesting… I’ll save these for later and see how the next face goes.  😀  The first one is changing emoticons into expressions (HERE) and the second one is an expression tutorial by the very talented Lackadaisy cartoonist. The image I used is Polka Dot Pals Katie from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and I colored her face with a bright-eyed expression.  I recently met a little baby boy that had the brightest blue eyes ever and thought that would be fun to color.  And to help them be the brightest they can be, I chose only use blue on the eyes.

There are a few things on there that I don’t normally use so here’s the run down… the chipboard embellishment is typically on my projects but this time I colored it with my Copic markers to match the grass colors and pull the green out.  Then I also tried to use Flowersoft as part of the ground cover but I can never get hang of it.  So I brushed off as much as possible then started adding little flowers to fill in.

Hello, hello, hello!  We’re having new releases at Little Miss Muffet Stamps today and I’m excited to announce several new images and styles to play with!!   Check out the LMMS Blog for all the details and design team inspiration.  And wow, let me tell you, they’ve rocked this release!!!

For my project I’ve used Polka Dot Pals Roxie from Little Miss Muffet Stamps, which is currently a digital stamp.  You may not recognize her, since I’ve colored in some facial features.  In addition to expanding her eyes with color, I’ve given her chubby cheeks, a nose and mouth.  😀  These images are cute the way they are, but I love how they look with faces too.  So have fun with them and experiment a little.

In addition to playing with the eyes, I had some fun with the background too.  The clouds were colored using this simple 4-step cloud tutorial HERE.  Then the ocean was colored with the same color blues and I stroked horizontal lines from the lighter colors to darker colors (going from top to bottom).  The sand was added with dots and even the starfish was an addition.  Last, I added some ocean details with a white gel pen.
