Frankie & Alchemist Chamber

The challenge this week at Lil Lolita Boutique is to use skulls and I combined it with the 5th Day of Halloween challenge from Simply Betty Stamps using ghosts. I made this card and bookmark combo using the new Lil Haunts Frankie and set it up using the Alchemist Chamber as the background.

As a final touch, I added Crystal Effects to each bottle to make them look more like glass. Here’s the bookmark separate from he card. If I could go back, I’d trace around the yellow moon sense it’s hard to spot. 😀

Only a portion of the Alchemist Chamber was used on the card. This was my first time coloring something where the source of light was constantly in a different direction so that was an interesting challenge! I didn’t even see one of the candles until I was already on top of it – luckily I was already using a lighter color.

Did you know? The International Date Line (IDL) is a generally north-south imaginary line on the surface of the Earth, passing through the middle of the Pacific Ocean, where the date changes as a ship or airplane travels east or west across it. Crossing the IDL traveling east results in a day or 24 hours being subtracted, so that the traveler repeats the date to the west of the line.

Update: I made the top eight at Simply Betty Stamps for this challenge!

Lola Mummy

I made this card using Lola Mummy from Simply Betty Stamps along with the digital stamp Halloween Haunted House from Make It Crafty. This project is for the Second Day of Halloween Challenge which is to create a card or project using two Trick-or-Treaters. With little tidbits inbetween all the home chaos, it took me all day to color it!

I doubled up Lola Mummy pairing as two sisters and put them out Trick-or-Treating in front of a spooky Haunted House. This was my first attempt at this type of accordion fold card and I think I guessed wrong. But at least it stands and can be used as a display.

Here’s a picture of just the background where I colored the sky in waves of purple. Because I knew Lola was going to be on the left side I tried to make plenty of room for them to walk and moved the house to the far right.

Did you know? The Fabian strategy is a military strategy where pitched battles and frontal assaults are avoided in favor of wearing down an opponent through a war of attrition and indirection. While avoiding decisive battles, the side employing this strategy harasses its enemy through skirmishes to cause attrition, disrupt supply and affect morale.

Slimy House and Chomps

How cool is this house! Make It Crafty has different styles of houses to complement several types of stamps and this one was perfect for my Monster challenge using Chomp. Check out Lollipop Crafts for the details and I hope to see your unique monster creations this week!

This was the first time coloring the Slime House so I used the same colors they show in the store, or at least tried to. The challenges were to make something with just one (only one flower left!) and anything goes.

NEWS: Today is also the debut of my Mum’s new blog! Go check out Grandma’s Pearl and leave her some comments of encouragement and good cheer! She would even be thrilled with a Follower or two. ;-D

Did you know? The four-leaf clover is an uncommon variation of the common, three-leaved clover. But clovers can have more than four leaves and the most ever recorded is twenty-one. Unofficial claims of discovery have ranged as high as twenty-seven.
