Flying Balloon Contraption

Here’s my Annabelle project for the “Sheer Clothing” challenge at Make it Colourful! I placed her with the Flying Balloon Contraption that I’ve had colored for a while and grabbed some scraps to made a journal page out of it. Here she is…

I added some wings and thought they were appropriate… maybe this guy is flying in the air on a quest looking for his loving angel? LOL The rest of the page was decorated with wide ribbon, silver resin flowers, and some Make it Crafty chippes.

This is also my LAST page of my second journal – as you can see it’s bulging and will never lay flat again. ;D I’ve had it propped up on my desk like this and enjoy looking at my last project.

Just a few reminders… come on over and join in the Christmas-Birthday Blog Hop were you’ll find lots of blog candy, freebies and inspiration galore! Plus don’t miss out on my own Blog Candy – both events end on Wednesday.

Julliette

I’ve actually had this page done for ages and was saving it for later in case it “fit” into a challenge – the only thing was, all of the challenges at Make it Colourful have been more complex than a “simple” image! LOL But this serves as a great reminder for other things going on and I’m finally going to share Julliette with you!

For my project I used Julliette and Victorian Chaise by Make it Crafty and believe it or not, I’ve colored them separately then cute each out and poped them on the page with dimensional foam inbetween each layer. To help redefine the lines after cutting, I took my Copic Multiliner brush marker out and went around the edges in black.

I was working on my technique of shadows in all those folds of her dress and ruffles and this might not have been the perfect image to start on – but it gave me plenty of chances to experiment with! I like how some areas turned out better than other and in the end I felt more comfortable with this look.

The journal page was decorated with some new black paper I found plus scraps of script, calendar and musch sheet decorative papers. I wanted to stay away from laces and ribbons and keep the focus on the eligant dress – so I used a piece of film strip for the horizontal element and the embelishments were kept plain in color but fancy for the theme.

I can’t image what walking around in all those layers of cloth would be like but I would sure love to have curlylocks like her. ;D Here’s a close up of her face and torso.

Don’t forget about the Make it Colourful Christmas-Birthday Blog Hop HERE – where EVERYONE on the hop is giving away something and there is an adorable Make it Crafty freebie that you don’t want to miss out on! Birthday Zoe

Happy Birthday Zoe! This is a continuation of the grand celebration going on and you can check out all the details HERE including prizes, freebies and blog candy!! Hurry, there is only a few days left.

Art is in the eye of the beholder but sometimes there is such a good story behind the image that it becomes a masterpiece and this is certainly one of those! This image was created by Michelle and posted in the Make it Crafty FaceBook page and I couldn’t resit playing with it… mainly because of the history of it’s creation. Check out Zoe’s post HERE.

Quote from Michelle Cassell

“To celebrate Zoe’s birthday, I have drawn this lifelike picture of the great lady herself. As you can see, she’s so excited about her birthday she appears to be losing her incontinence knickers…I told you not to get too excited, Zoe! Thanks for posing though. 😉

As an added bonus, I have left it uncoloured, so you can all enjoy colouring it it!
Too kind, I know! 😀 Happy Birthday, Zoe!

You can pull your knickers up now…”

Oh that gives me tears from laughing so much!! Love your humor Michelle and wish I could convince you to write up all my posts too. LOL Anyway, because of the big Z on her shirt, I thought it would be fun to add a cape… see even super heroes get excited!

Annabelle

The challenge this fortnight at Make it Colourful is to color sheer or see through clothing. My first attempt was to color Annabella from Make it Crafty. The lower part of the skirt and the fabric around the arm were indented to me sheer. I colored the arm and wire frame first then lightly went over with E40, E41, E42, and E43 to manage a sheer look.

As for a challenge, I wasn’t completely satisfied with my effect so I gave it another go. This time I found Ben in the Rain by Whiff of Joy and thought I could give him a clear raincoat and umbrella. It was on this image that I discovered the techniques of coloring are pretty similar to “coloring with no lines” challenge.

The third image is Marissa Fairy by Paper Makeup Stamps and her skirt turned out to be a great dance cover. Again, I colored the skin and leotard first then lightly went in with the pink in the shaded areas. Some areas were darker than I wanted to so that’s where I used the Blender Pen to lighten it up.

In the end, the hardest part about this challenge was to find a viable image to work on without coloring someone naked! Maybe I need to look for more images… sounds like a good excuse to me to go shopping! 😀 Next week I should have these images on a project.

Mini Morticia

Welcome back!! If you’re looking for the Christmas-Birthday blog hop then that would be one post below. ;D Today I have one last mini journal from all the Halloween images I colored a couple weeks ago. This is Mini Morticia from Make it Crafty and I couldn’t resist giving her a few streaks of red in her hair for some color!

For this page, I added a few face cards that I cut out of some Alice in Wonderland Halloween decorative paper – I think it is from Tim Holz? Ah, nope, it’s from Graphic45! (Thanks Creepy Glowbugg!) Anyway, I added some of that meshy ribbon and a scrap piece chippies border that I had. Finally I stamped a few extra spider webs in the corners and added some square rhinestone brads. Voila… finished. ;D

Scruffy and Party Girl Zoe!!

It’s Zoe’s Birthday today and we wanted to celebrate it right!! She suggested having a Christmas Blog Hop but we knew what day it was and have secretly planned a hug birthday celebration behind the scenes. So most of these details are unbeknown to Zoe up until now. (he he he) So with out further delay…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZOE!!!

You should have arrived here from Carole‘s blog and seen her uber cool project!! Or head on over to the Make it Colourful blog to START from the beginning.

To commemorate this joyous occasion, we’re so excited to bring you a Birthday Blog Hop disguised as a Christmas Blog Hop!! For my project I used Scruffy and kept the card simple. This was hard to do so I had to keep my eye on Elaine‘s blog the whole time while chanting… keep it simple, keep it simple! I managed to duplicate one of her cards and it will be perfect for mailing off this holiday season. One down and now 59 more to make.
