Here’s a card I made a while ago and was saving it for a “quick post” day. You know those kinds of days where you want to get something up quickly but didn’t have time to get anything else done? Yep, that’s one of these days! So here’s “Monster Sweet Tooth” munching on those giant lollies. I used a bold bright color scheme and tried to keep everything sans-swirls and flowers for a boy’s card.

Did you know? Grandidier’s Baobab trees are the grandest and most famous of Madagascar’s six baobabs and is an endangered species in the genus Adansonia. These trees store water inside the swollen trunk (up to 120,000 litres / 32,000 US gallons) to endure the harsh drought conditions particular to each region. Some baobabs are reputed to be many thousands of years old, which is difficult to verify as the wood does not produce annual growth rings. Did you know? A lighthouse keeper is the person responsible for tending and caring for a lighthouse, particularly the light and lens in the days when oil lamps and clockwork mechanisms were used. Keepers were needed to trim the wicks, replenish fuel, wind clockworks and perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning lenses and windows. What do you think of this little guy? He’ll soon be available for FREE once we reach the 400 Followers mark and we’re so close!! So far I think this is my favorite color scheme and with this pose you finally get a glimpse of the horns on his back!

I made this card for the Lollipop Crafts challenge this week which features an inspirational sketch to use. There is only a few more days left so come on over to play along! The bites punched out of the card is direct inspiration from Dorcas who participated in the Forgotten Scraps current challenge. She let her monster take a chuck out inside her card and I loved it!

Remember those hearts and wings I did last time with Liquid Pearls? This time I tried pink Stickles Glitter Glue on a wing. It applies evenly but I’m not so sure about the transparency. (Although it worked for this card.) Perhaps if I cover it with decorative paper first? I have a whole package so I’ll continue to experiment more.
