Did you know? Martin Eichler (1912–1992) was a German number theorist and received his Ph.D. from the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg in 1936. Eichler once stated that there were five fundamental operations of mathematics: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and modular forms. He is linked with Goro Shimura in the developing a method to construct elliptic curves from certain modular forms. The converse notion that every elliptic curve has a corresponding modular form would later be the key to the proof of Fermat’s last theorem.

I made this card for a little girl and used bright primary colors with a touch of bling.

Here’s another background sky I tried to make after having success with the last one behind Tilda. I wanted to try a sunset, however, the colors didn’t work out so I started adding browns and blacks to create a nighttime sky. Once the coloring was done I added stars with a white pen.

The challenge this week for Little Miss Muffet Challenges is “Stitching.” I used both real and faux stitching on this card, however, both are hard to see unfortunately. I machine stitched a zig-zag around the border of the card and then I drew in a faux stitching on the center diecut. I’ve actually had this monster colored up for a long time so it was nice to finally use it. ;D

Did you know? Joseph Barbera (1911–2006) was an influential American animator, director, producer, storyboard artist, and cartoon artist. Born in New York City, after working odd jobs and as a banker, Barbera joined Van Beuren Studios in 1932 and subsequently Terrytoons in 1936. He met his lifelong collaborator William Hanna while working for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1937 and soon began producing animated shorts such as the Tom and Jerry series. In 1957, after MGM dissolved their animation department, they co-founded Hanna–Barbera, which became the most successful television animation studio in the business, producing programs such as The Flintstones, The Huckleberry Hound Show, Top Cat, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, The Quick Draw McGraw Show, The Smurfs, Wacky Races and Yogi Bear.
