Build-a-Critter

Here is a bit of inspiration with Little Miss Muffet Stamps using the new Build-a-Critter that was released last week.  I made up all six critters possible… well, all six normal critters!  LOL  I left out the skunk-aroo and racoo-eavers.  He he he

These little critters I had actually drawn a long time ago for a class that I taught in drawing.  I was teaching how a simple body could be used to create all sorts of different animals and they got to choose how to decorate the critter.  After building the critter I taught them a little about shading.  It was a fun class.

There are a couple of things on the card I was excited to use… the sentiment beads have been sitting in my craft room for over two or three years so I threaded them onto hat pins and placed them behind the ribbon rose.  I think those beads are way back when I made jewelry… or attempted to make jewelry.  I think I managed to create a few bookmarks but never went past that.

Then the ribbon rose was something I found in the store – I was so excited I finally found some, except I didnt’ anticipate they would be too big to use on most of my projects.  So it was neat they fit and the color scheme worked out ok too.   And lastly it always feels good to move out the older paper.

This is probably another gift set of cards that I’ll bundle up and save for when needed.  It was fun to put together and I actually used them for show and tell last week at my daughter’s school – it was career day and they asked me to come talk about being an artist.  Let’s just say the 2nd grad was full of great questions but the Kindergartener’s were only interested in the pretty pictures part.  LOL  They were all sweet and next time I’ll know just to bring a drawing pad and a pencil for their age group.  😀

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you’ve enjoyed these cards.  😀  Make sure to head on over to the LMMS Challenge Blog for more mid-week inspiration and then to the LMMS Store for some shopping!

Kiara

We’ve got some new releases at Little Miss Muffet Stamps to show off and the theme is sort of centered around Critters and Combos – however, I couldn’t resit adding a few extras and a little Wee One too!  😀  Check out the LMM Challenge Blog for the DT projects and then head on over to the LMMS Store for some shopping!  I released everything today instead of dividing it up – so check it out.  😀

The card I made today was inspired for a dear friends.  I needed to make a simpathy card but nothing I had really expressed my feelings and all felt superficial at the time.  Creating a simpathy card in the moment is one of the hardest projects I’ve had for a while and it ended up taking me a week to complete  working on it here and there ad not knowing if it would ever be enough.  Anyway, I finally settled on knowing it was for a good friend and she’d probably appreciate anything I could send.  😀

Two of the imgages I used are from the New Releases this week which I combined for the dog – Kiara and Angel Accessories, both from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  Then in the background I merged it with Timber Top Ridge from Make it Crafty.  I drew the dog lookint at Staffordshire Bull Terriers but I think he can be used for any bulldog types.

I think adding the embellishments on this card took just as long as drawing and coloring the imgages.  LOL  I’d add something and it just wouldn’t look right so I’d add something else and let it sit for a day.  This took several days, as I had mentioned, however, this is the ed result.  It may notbe the most perfect card I had made but I rather like how it turned out – so I was finally able to send it off.  😀

Lavender as Alice

It’s a new challenge day at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and we have an awesome theme for everyone… ANYTHING GOES!!  We all love those plus there are fabulous prizes – THREE RUBBER STAMPS!!  This isn’t something that happens every time there is a challenge so I feel like bringing special attention to it.  He he he… hence the all caps.  LOL  But seriously, head on over to the LMM Challenge Blog and check out the details – for this challenge you just have to be a Follower and add the NEWS Badge to your sidebar!  Easy peasy!  😀

For my project I used the new Lavender as Alice and went with a gold and blue color scheme.  This isn’t just any o’l Alice as she’s a special Sugar ‘n Spice Doll Alice!  😀  She’s great in all colors too and a perfect image for girl birthday cards.

I love how her colors turned out and it was pure luck as I didn’t have my color chart out for a reference – so as a result I just started picking out marker I tought would work together and blending out colors that didn’t.  I’ll have to try that more often.  What about you… are you a color-by-the-chart kind of person or do you prefer to get results through the luck of the draw?

Paprika as Raggedy Ann

I’ve got some more images released at Little Miss Muffet Stamps today and the design team has gone all out to create some inspiring samples too!  There are six fun new images and even a boy that you don’t want to miss out on.  😀  For my project I used Paprika as Raggedy Ann

I have a Raggedy Ann doll from my childhood that my Mom had made for me so this has been a long time favorite character for me.  She even stitched a heart on her chest that says “I Love You.”  Isn’t she the best Mom ever?!  I remember I had a book on Raggedy Ann too so I enjoyed using reading elements on my card with the decorative paper.

Thanks coming by and don’t for get to visit the Little Miss Muffet Stamps store for some shopping of your favorites… there’s even an Alice and Swan Princess!  Plus the four from yesterday gives you ten new images to drool over.  LOL

Sacagawea and Red Cloud

I’ve got some fabulous new releases for you today with Little Miss Muffet Stamps and today we’re featuring four “Legends of the West” images!  Then tomorrow we’ll be back with six more images of various themes – you’re going love them!  Also remember to visit the LMM Blog for the rest of the design team’s inspiration! My first card uses Sacagawea…

On this card I used Ginger as Sacagawea from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and Ticket Sentiments and die from Whimsy Stamps.  For the card base, I got out some older paper packs and used up some scraps.  Then I was even able to empty a contain and use the last of my silk ribbon roses – sounds like a good excuse for shopping to me!  LOL

Here’s my second card which uses Parsley as Red Cloudand the same paper.  However, this time I got out the Clouds Trio die from My Favorite Things and also a few corduroy buttons to give a different look and feel.  Parsley is also one of two boys that are now available!!

Licorice

Are you ready for another challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps?  Well this time we have an easy one for you… May Flowers!!  Our last challenge was April Showers so how could we not resit taking it all the way.  LOL  And since most of us use flowers galore, this should be an easy peasy challenge.  😀

For my project I used Licorice from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and paper from Authentique called Delightful.  Remember the card kits I was making for the Hatter Party at my local scrapbook store?  This was one of them!  😀  I also used a die in the background from Memory Box, Country Border or something like that, however, the paper is so busy that it’s hard to see unfortunately.

For a good contrast with the background paper (see I learned my lesson from the Country Border die I used!  LOL), I decided to go with a bright orange for the dress on Licorice.  (YR21, YR 12, YR14, YR 18 and YR27)  Then Green apples becuase they would show up better than red, and her hair combination is the Copic E70s.  The skin tones are E21, E31, E00, E000, E04 and the blush was R11 and R12.  Lastly, the brown basket was colored using E55, E57, and E59.

Finally, I used up the last of my white satin ribbon, found some sherbet flat pearls and added a HUG tag (found at Oriental Trading Co online).   I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.  Make sure you also visit the LMM Challenge Blog for the design teams’ inspiration – they’ve done a fantastic job!!
