Zoe Hatter

I have some very exciting news to share (starting now, September 27th at 12:00 am Australian time) … it’s a birthday celebration!!  Whoop whoop!  Who’s you might ask?  Well… Zoe from Make it Crafty!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZOE!!

[150]
After all, a special day like this only comes around once a year so why not celebrate in style!  I went all out and had fun creating this card to send her (close your eyes Zoe until it arrives in your mailbox.  LOL).  Now I know that pink isn’t her favorite color but with the amount of estrogen waiving around my little house sometimes it becomes overpowering and as a result this is what happens… lots and lots of pink to share!   He he he

We thought it would be fun to share the excitement of today and as a fun way to get everyone involved we have a surprise for you!!  Check out this image especially drawn for Zoe by me (Little Miss Muffet Stamps) which features a Sweetheart dress for any occasion with a festive Gumnut flower sun hat that is reminiscent of Australia.

This Zoe Hatter image will be available as a freebie for today only in celebration for Zoe’s Birthday!!  How cool is that?!  If you want to play along, just email me at ForgottenScraps@gmail.com and as long as it’s September 27th anywhere in the world then the offer is still open!!  Share you’re creations in the MiC FB Group and LMMS FB Group too – we’d love to see what you make!

I’m currently leaving the NEWS Blog Candy open while this is going on so you can still get your name included in the drawing pool for that too!  And thank you to all my new Followers and I hope to continue to inspire you with projects and coloring. If you get a chance, make sure to head on over to wish Zoe a Happy Birthday and thanks so much for dropping by today!!  *Hugs

My Ride

There’s a fun challenge opening up today over at Little Miss Muffet Challenges that I’m sure you’re going to want to participate in.  😀  The theme is “Anything but Square” and we want to see projects that are not the norm (such as what I have below, LOL) or if you are using a Little Miss Muffet Stamp or Diecut then you can submit “Anything Goes!”

The stamp I used is “My Ride” from Little Miss Muffet Stamps which is an image drawn by Pollycraft.  He was perfect for a boy card and I love the wood banner I added – wish I could find more of those!  😀

Make sure you get a chance to visit the LMMS Challenge Blog and check out all the wonderful creations the DT has created.  Also the previous post has Blog Candy that you don’t want to miss out on either.  😀  Thanks for coming by today!

Sid & Nebula

Are you ready for another background?  This time I went under the sea and created a background for Sid & Nebula to swim around in!!  Because of their name sake, these two reminded me of the amazing colors in a nebula and I wanted to get a little of that color into this.  So I added some yellows and greens then went heavy with the blues.

This background started with a bunch of yellow, green, blue and turquoise patches.  Then starting from the bottoms I covered it all similar to the way I did the night time sky.  I used B99 and blended all the way up to B91.  Then at the bottom I started adding seaweed with the darkest BG, G and YG colors.  The fish were added with another dark color, probably B99, and finally I used the blended pen to add some bubbles and finished those off with the gel pen with more colors.  I love how it turned out – more so than my last one.

Now that I have a couple of these finished, I’m going to add a new label named “… Full Background Techniques” so we can easily see them.  And yes, I say we, because often times I go back and wonder just how I did that so I can reproduce it again.  LOL  So far, each one is unique.

The image I used is Sid & Nebula from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and was released this week along with some other great fantasy horses!  You should check out the awesome release in the What’s New section and thanks so much for stopping by today.  *Hugs

NEWS Freebie – Nellie the Elephant

It’s about time I start to offer some freebies and a few give-aways to my Followers!  With school back in full force, kids and me included, I just barely have enough time to create and post – I hardly get a change to spread some blog love via comments anymore.  😦  If only I had a secretary who could take notes and do all the busy work for me, but alas… that’s just not written in the stars today.  LOL  Anyway, this gives me a chance to say Thank You in a more meaningful way and the best part is you might get a little more out of it.  😀  So with out further adieu … let’s get started!!!

Welcome to the ForgottenScraps NEWS Giveaways!!!

Today I’m starting off with a freebie image of Nellie the Elephant!  She’s an adorable cuddly elephant that is ready to pack her truck and melt your heart away.  This freebie can also be used in any Little Miss Muffet Challenge and qualifies as an “Anything Goes” entry!!  Let’s see how cute you can color her!

As a huge thank you to my Followers, I’m going to regularly post freebies, blog candies and give-aways right here on this blog!!  I don’t know exactly when the next NEWS will be posted so your time limit will be variable and between posts.  For example, on this offer here, you will have until I randomly post the next offer.  So what do you have to do to take advantage of these offers??  All you have to do is …

Note: This offer has expired.
You can click HERE to see the most recent News.
1. Be a Follower of this blog
2. Leave a comment below
3. Email me with “Freebie” in the subject

If you would like to post the NEWS Badge on your sidebar then that is optional, however, it is a great tool to be notified of the next freebie.  Sounds impossible?  Na, it’s simple and similar to the way I do the Little Miss Muffet NEWS Badge which has worked great!  (P.S. There’s freebie opportunities over there too so be sure to add that badge while you’re at it.)  Here is the code and details on this badge…

ForgottenScraps News
NOTE: This is important … make sure you use the code above when grabbing the blinkie as it’s the only way it will be will update automatically. Once it’s on your blog, the blinkie will change when I post another offer and you’ll get to see the latest news right from your sidebar!  It’s a great way to get alerted whenever there is another freebie, blog candy or giveaway posted!!  😀

For freebies, I’ll email out the image in a couple days and it will be in a PNG format.  For blog candies and give-aways, winners will be randomly selected and announced in the next NEWS post.  Then you can send me your mailing address and I’ll ship out your goodies as soon as possible.

I think that about sums it up and thank you for stopping by!  *Hugs

Flower Girl

Happy Monday everyone!  I have a quick project to share as I have a ton of emails waiting for me that I should be getting to.  You know how it goes – it’s just one of those weeks where everything should have been done yesterday but it doesn’t look like you’ll get around to it until tomorrow.  Humph.  Anyway, lucky for you, I still have over a dozen projects saved in draft mode and I’ll be able to keep you inspired as I get through this.

For this project I used Flower Girl from Little Miss Muffet Stamps which is one of the images from Pollycraft.  This little girl is so cute and reminds me of my own girls – they love wearing hats and dresses!!  I’m surprised at how girlie they can be yet occasionally they’ll get really tom boyish too.  So I guess that’s a good thing.  😀

I was able to use a few new diecuts (well, they were new when I used them) from Memory Box although I think I might have to get one of those metal cutting pads for my Cuttlebug as they just didn’t cut as well as I thought.  The butterfly did ok the second time through but the three had to go through three or four times and still didn’t get it all.  I even used a few extra sheets of paper between the layers to press it down more.  Not sure if I need to switch out my cutting pad or not but that might be worth a try.

That’s about it for today.  I have some new images planned for this Thursday over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps that you don’t want to miss out on so be sure to mark your calendars.  😀
